I’ve studied this for 40 years….when a team has a ceremony of any kind they don’t cover and they lost a lot of these games. I first noticed it at Al Kaline day in Detroit in 1980. They lost the doubleheader. Not only were the Chiefs getting their SB ceremony but the lady owner of the team just passed away and they honored her too. The next time a team is honoring past players or any kind of ceremony bet the other team
They did lose both games on that day; by the way Al Kaline day was on Aug. 2nd, 1970. We hosted the Twins that day and Killebrew hit two of the longest homeruns I'd ever seen at Tiger Stadium.
@@presleyrules The one I went to was August 1980. Against Texas. Al Oliver set records. Most total bases in a doubleheader, 21. 4 HRs, a triple, and a double. Hit a rising line shot off the wood on the 3rd deck, foul by a foot. We were sitting up on the line and it hit about 40 feet from us. The stadium went silent. Sparky Anderson bolted out of the dugout and told the pitcher to intentionally walk Oliver. Haven’t seen that since…a guy has a pitch thrown to him and then is intentionally walked. They honored Kaline between games

I don't know whether to thank Peyton or Brad Holmes and Dan Cambell but I'm so happy. I don't even care about the massive lack of respect from the national media. If you can't see that the Lions are different then your blind. I'm not saying we will win a Superbowl this year but the Lions are going to make some noise and this team is being built to last. We are going to be around awhile so they can keep picking against us in big games, and talk about why their apponents lost rather then Lions won but here they can come

I think way too much is being made about KC pass drops... Mahomes easily had more bad passes than there were past drops (a few of them, a bit more minor, were part of the reason for the past drops), why does no one say anything about that?

It’s not “one game”. It’s the fact that the Lions have improved steadily since they started a blow-it-up rebuild. Only gotten better(and will continue to get better), in every facet top to bottom, every month, every year. They draft studs and make great offseason moves. Have great coaches and confident bought-in players. We saw this win from a mile away and it was only a surprise to the people who havent been paying attention. This was not a “one game” anomaly. And frankly, the Lions were actually not playing their best football and still beat the SB champs with a legendary head coach and one of the best QBs of all time on their turf.
