My advice to anyone watching this video is DON'T leave earth without seeing Stokely in concert. You talk about a top notch band and live performance. They just don't make it like him anymore.
Thanks Charlie for making a good song we all can enjoy. Stokes u sang your behind off . I really enjoyed listening. That was doing there thing. Back ground singers can sang. Stokes running do your thing brother. Now I'm getting on the keyboard to learn how to play this song. 10/6/19
OH SHOOT THIS WAS A NMAAM EVENT!?!?!? #SALUTE !!! THAT EXPLAINS WHY IT'S SO LIT!! STOKLEY HIS THANG HONEY!!! THE WHOLE PERFORMANCE WAS JUST SMH CAPTIVATING AND AWE INSPIRING!!! INCREDIBLE!!!
that ad lib sequence starting @5:07 into the ending @5:13......... was the crowd even alive or did the band drown them out audio wise? because you can some people @4:05?!?! how were people not losing it at those ad libs + microphone bit because I think since I came across this vid I play that section at least 30x a day ☹️ I'm seriously super grateful to the videographer and uploader
Shan So Neaux Orleans... I totally agree! Stokely is one of the Best male vocalist out there... His lower range felt uncomfortable to him. But, when he came into his own-He blew that song in the stratosphere 🎙
Charlie Wilson tricks ppl and makes you think the song is easy to sing and that is not so. I disagree with ppl this was not a good performance. Jaimie Foxx did not do well with this song either. Aaron Hall was the only one who did well with the remake or they should have gotten Joe
He struggled throughout the song, especially at the beginning singing in his lower register. Not to mention he was doing too much. Sometimes you do more by doing less. He's a great singer, a little disappointed with this tribute.
If it’s a tribute for my brother in law Charlie then sing his songs not Gap band songs oh and he’s not even a writer on this song only my husband Robert may he Rip and Ronnie Wilson so pay up or shut up he didn’t get where he is by his self and if I sound sour I am
Wow, sorry Mrs. Wilson for the loss of your husband, but in the entire history of popular music, the lead singer of hit songs - whether in a group or as a solo artist - has always gotten most of the credit for breathing the life into hit songs, simply by providing vocals. And many of them had absolutely no part in songwriting, instrumentation, production or anything else - they just show up to sing. That's just how it always works, and I'm sure these types of tributes are usually not meant as a slight to the other song contributors. And on a side note, on this particular song your husband Robert wasn't credited as a writer, only brother Ronnie Wilson and Oliver Scott. But, much love to all the GAP Band brothers!

I love Stokley...but Nobody.... can do it like Uncle Charlie... Except for Aaron Hall back in the day.
Jo Rhodes Aaron did kill that with Guy 💯💯💯
Facts!!! Big facts. This wasn’t the best sing four Stokley. Still enjoyed the performance though!
Much better in his own vocal range, second range...background did NO justice.
Right. Thats way below his range. I knew he would excel on the hook.
Yes...I was waiting for him to sing it in his own range & he did!!
I agree with u ShanB you know singing a well i see
Background is not good. Their sound is week and they don't blend well.
Shan So Neaux Orleans... I totally agree! Stokely is one of the Best male vocalist out there... His lower range felt uncomfortable to him. But, when he came into his own-He blew that song in the stratosphere 🎙
Sexual Chocolate, Sexual Chocolate...
Nope
The BG is pitchy...
Not a good key for him, he was constantly flat. Such a shame cos he's a great singer and it's a great song
Stokley is my dude but for some reason he dancing like he got mexican jumping beans in his tux trousers!!
Johnny Coleman 😆😆😆
😬

Ernie Coney I won’t believe that Everyone has 1 off night and honestly I think he was great and always Rise to the occasion
My favorite artist ever...r kelly is 2nd on that list

You said that right. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that felt it didn't really do Charlie justice
If it’s a tribute for my brother in law Charlie then sing his songs not Gap band songs oh and he’s not even a writer on this song only my husband Robert may he Rip and Ronnie Wilson so pay up or shut up he didn’t get where he is by his self and if I sound sour I am

Brenda...u logged online to be sour sis? You're better than that, say it with me, say "I'm Better than that!"
What's with all the GODDAMN Riffing disappointing as Stokely is a way better vocalist, artist than this performance
