Honestly, most important factor in a good battle simulator is good AI. The less derping the AI does, the more flanking and counterflanking manouvers and the better splitting of forces to deal with and find multiple fronts is really what makes the battles fun. Sure, a nice bit of sillyness is always good, but looking at UEBS2, the battles are so much more satisfying compared to bassically every battle simulator i have ever seen, and it's almost all because of the AI. The scale is also pretty awesome.
I hope the zombies get the World War Z treatment of just a tidal wave of zombies. Climbing over each other, scrambling, and uncaring. Maybe have a certain percentage to convert their kills into more zombies. Their AI would be a stark contrast to everything else in that they have zero regard for anything but their enemy. Zombies should be specialists in a war of attrition; they're not the strongest, fastest, or smartest, but there sure is a _lot_ of them, and they have a chance of adding more to their numbers.
@@jocosesonata they are pretty much like that to be fair, although they only climb other each others bodys due to it being relatively flat terrain and them all being the same speed. Esspecially as they are the least laggy unit type, so you can legitimately get far more of them that any other unit. The only real way to make the zombies seem more uncaring than the other troop types would be to effectively nerf the other troops AI, by making them try to avoid climbing over body piles, which is a very bad idea.
The most important thing about battle sims in my opinion is the ability to examine both the micro AND the macro elements of the battle. Having the ability to look at this MASIVE battle, but then also zoom in and find a specific character, name him Jimmy and follow his exploits of being the last survivor of his squad, sending reinforcements to his position, just to save him, and then keep him alive until the end of the battle.
A good battle simulator needs good AI, and now, Artificial Intelligence has developed far enough to be introduced into games. Soon, we will have games where the enemy troops strategize, learn, change, adapt, improve. There, the shape of your troops, their elevation, everything will matter. Now THAT'S fun. Knowing that your enemy learns and improves. That kind of game would never get old.
you should make the corners of the defending team in this case ww2 soldiers, round so that they can have multiple people shooting on the corners instead of just the 1 (almost like a round edged square/rectangle)
Dang. Having watched a pentagon squad of 30k shottys go against 4m zombies and losing men down to 13k, I wasn't totally sure 10k was going to be enough for 1m on an open field with easy flanking.
What makes battle simulators fun is unpredictability. Like when 1 Persian killed 10,000 Spartans in a UEBS 2 battle. Stories and legends end up getting created by the AI.
@@iensantillan5300 Simulations at these massive scales are just pure computation, it isnt an optimization issue, something must give in. Still let's crowdfund a 24h rent of a Microsoft supercomputer for an epic session?? xD
Just think, if one squad was lead by Audy Murphy, the army was trained by R. Lee Ermy (Yeah, we would need a time machine to utilize this guy), and commanded by George C. Patton, you would only need half as many soldiers to win.
Well, there is no need for me to worry as the human are the most intelligent and powerful species. as in the video, nothing other than guns was used but we have lots of stuff that can destroy all of these zombies at once...
Is there a simulator be as realistic as possible such as no: 1 - infinite ammo. 2 - soldiers in the back can't shot pass other soldiers. 3 - shotguns can't shoot 100 yards away. etc........
To my observation on empires of the undergrowth tug of war level, the AI has multiple adaptations of ants The most often adaptation are black ants and wood ants,it dosent matter the difficulty, the AI queen has a very high chance of using black ants and wood ants early in the start of the level, then later into the game, they will start to use stronger ants that are more expensive. The army ant adaption is the usage of army ant medias and majors only, they will usually have to start with army ant medias depending on the difficulty and their starting food. The trap jaw adaption uses the power of the trapjaws only, but they probably won’t start with a trap jaw until further into the level. The leaf cutter adaption uses leaf cutter ants available, this makes it extremely hard to reach the enemy queen because their ants tank a lot of hits. The slave maker adaption uses the slave maker ants,to my observation, this is the most rare ant that the enemy queen would use, often it dosent use slave makers at all,so this is the RAREST adaption the enemy queen would use ever.
In reality you would deploy a Napoleonic square with volley fire so someone is always firing while the other ranks reload crouched down , this would quickly build up a wall of dead zombies the following zombies would fall over a simple win with more modern rifles. Most films seem to forget the zombies can't fire back and employ modern infantry tactics.
I'm guessing "simulator" is a joke? Unlimited ammo, no line of sight issues, and everyone can shoot through one another without concern for friendly fire.
Amazing what you can setup and simulate battles with this Simulator. I have watched other battles with this game and it is like taking battles to their extremes. It is nice to see what happens when you add more elements/factors into the game. Does this game just simulate ground battles, or can it do anything from the air or missiles. Also can it do any futuristic battles or what are the different time periods/battles can it can do?? Very good video. Need to watch more of these videos. Take care.
Relaoding ammunition is only a single factor. Gun temperature will warp the barrel making it in effective, having clear line of shooting and ability to move when needed.
A good battle simulator needs customization because then you can make a unit that is essentially a God when it comes to stats and see how many units it will take to kill. Secondary Thing is scale so we can have the millions or billions required to kill the Demigod unit guy.
Imagine fight against the army of zombies to save the world but the after victory government eliminates you because fear of you turn into new zombies 💀
My first computer was a 16k Sinclair ZX81. I can't wrap my head around the amount of cpu/gpu capability needed to pump this stuff out on the fly at xx frames per sec.
The army guys are in a formation where the guys on the inside cant fire without the risk of hitting their own men. Maybe broken up into platoons and spaced out 100 yards would be better. And why aren't they going prone and dropping zombies at 200 yards or more if the terrain is sooo flat?
These would be more amusing if they were more historically accurate? LIke, take, the Big Red One infantry Division and give them their proper load out of M1s, Thompsons, Grenades and M1919s, put them in a town or something and see.
Please play naval warfare and empires roleplay and i would really appriciate if you make a series out of empires roleplay (if you pay you can make your own faction)
I wonder if full auto shotguns with unlimited ammo, therefore no reload needed and magical bullets that can pass through the comrade you shot in the back without hurting him and only killing your enemies, therefore no single soldier dying from friendly fire is an accurate representation of a WW2 soldier...
This doesn't account for a change in terrain. As zombies fall, they would not be running cleanly but tripping and falling, and then having to *climb over* the mound of fallen zombies before reaching the army. Still, interesting...
With prep time like trenches or like hill advantage the soldiers would do better. Also 16 million+ US soldiers participated in WW2 so it would be even more

Technically, the soldiers in the middle would be firing at their comrades.
Well, if it’s technical, they would need a huge pile of ammo for each soldier, and they wouldn’t be able to fire and reload that fast anyways.
You put the tallest soldiers in the middle and the short ones out on the edge
Reduce numbers and increase hit power?

While 10M zombies is almost the same size as the Soviet army in ww2
Its about half

It’s almost the size of naz! germany
soviets lost 27 million soldiers in ww2, even if we knock off 7 million for planes and ships thats still half the amount

The next one should be one punch man vs 1milion zombies
Man is running this on a nasa computer
If they were in free move the us soldiers would create a semi circle to match the zombies flanks
The slow motion with the zombies flying in the air was the best part
i also kinda want their to be better animations for most of the characters, like the zombies i want them to literally jump on the enemies
That would make the game much laggier
Yes
Complicated physics = more lag
Simple physics = less lag

Realistically shotguns with a common round such as 00 buckshot could reach out to 100 yards and then some even. Especially with slugs
