- Welcome to Pat's Adventures & Travels!
My page features my rides all over the United States.
I'll also be doing many "how to's" on various maintenance items, as well as, adding farkels!
I'll be exploring small towns and talking about the town's history along the way.
When I have the GPX file to share I'll be using miles by motorcycle. See below.
If you sign up for a free account at miles-by-motor... then you'll be able to download the GPX and ride these same roads if you wish. This seems to be one of the easiest ways for me to share GPX files with anyone that wants them. I have no affiliation with them.

First video I've seen on the Windy Nine... greatful to hear you say it right too (wine-dee, not win-dee)! 😉. My brother and I did the triple nickel last year and loved it (coming from NE Indiana... flat and straight... ugh) and loved it. Going again this summer and will tie some Windy Nines in with it this year. Loved seeing the video and looking forward to the other 8 almost as much as riding them! Thanx!
Thanks! Hope to complete the series this summer finally lol
I have an old state brochure of interesting places to see from way back in the 40s and 50s when Lausche was governor. They mentioned "rim of the world" as being SR. 78 between McConnelsville and Glouster but to be honest the route didn't seem that scenic.
And speaking of scenic, I don't know if you have ever ridden to Malabar Farm State Park in North East Ohio but the route to that IS very scenic! Geez Hill overlook at the park is very beautiful and a nice place to picnic or fly a kite. You can also eat at the Malabar Inn restaurant. You can hike at Mohican State Park and canoe the Mohican River in Loudonville too.
Yes I have been all over that area. Not far from where I live. Mohican has become a huge tourist area so I avoid it now lol
We live about half way between Athens and Pomeroy and ride in SE Ohio a lot. When yoy were on RT78 I was in hopes you'd stop at the top of the hill about two miles West of RT555. There is a view up there to the North which is one of the best in Ohio.
If you get a chance ride to down town Pomeroy. It's a charming little river town with a large parking lot built right on the river bank. Fox's Pizza Den has a wonderful view of the Ohio River and during good weather you can watch the pleasure boaters out on the River.
The local McDonalds built a shelter house just for all the motorcylst to gather, cool off, and share their adventures.
I like to ride Rt124 from Pomeroy to Hockingport. The road follows the river most of the way and right below Long Bottom, Ohio the road is on a ledge with a rock wall on the left and the river just a few feet away on the right. It is a beautiful ride.
Yep it is a great area! I have ridden 124 as well. Now I have to find the time to finish riding the Windy 9 lol. Started this project 2 years ago I think it was and not done yet.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels The Windy nine is a good starting place, but there are so many great motorcycle roads in this area, you could spend weeks here.... maybe months. Maybe you ought to just move to SE Ohio and enjoy them all the time. haha
@@genegoodwin8925 Lol yes there are a lot and I have spent a lot of time that way over the years. Even some of the dirt roads.
I could not find the files but did find otger files. I was just hoping to get the maps already done up. Sort of like plug and play.
If you register for a free account my link will take you to all the Windy 9 routes I have published to date. The Windy 9 official site used to have the GPX files, but I see now they only offer the PDF version.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels While watching this video and marking some POI's for me I found your breakfast spot: CJ's Family Restaurant. Google shows it is permanently closed now. What a bummer.
@@nickhildabridle1612 Yeah that is a bummer. Thanks!!
Obettys should pay you to advertise
I like that idea!
Or at least give you a free hot dog...
