I believe a lot of what he said is correct, however, he is young and the fact that he is unwilling to talk to someone about his feelings is sad. I understand it is mostly his age. He stated that nothing will get better until his parents come home, this is untrue. He could work through his feelings and live a happier life. With time his feelings of anger are only going to worsen. I feel sad for him.

Grayson’s mental health as a teenager going through all of this is much more important than him having to go see his parents weekly. Teenagers process differently. Perhaps he could send email or write letter, but weekly visits are crushing his spirit. He is right, his sister cannot fix this, so let his own coping mechanisms help heal his personal pain and burdens. May God keep his heart soft and keep his loving heart protected.

I agree with you. But the Grayson and I saw on that video is different than the one I saw on television. He was cursing. He was never like that. Someone should explain to Grayson that if everyone in prison was let out because they had children, the prisons would almost be empty. He needs to sit down with someone who understand the system. The court feels his parents did something wrong and they have to be punished for it. Personally, I was disturbed by the video. I did not see anything positive in that video. I see a young man headed toward disaster, unless someone gets into his head and helps him deal with it. What I hope is that as the years go on, Grayson calms down and gains a stronger, positive hold on his mind and emotions.

This. He’s being logical over his emotions, and I agree with him. It’s easy to drop people when all you want are your parents and they aren’t even around. Who’s some girl or who’s some friend that isn’t respecting my trust and may have dropped the ball on things, when I feel the most hurt I can feel. Parents are more important than the people he’s cutting off. It takes so long to process and he’s incredibly logical saying what he’s saying.

Rewatch this to relisten to how he says those weekly visits impacts him, and what he needs to do for himself. If you feel it is your duty to go every weekend, please fulfill what you personally need to do. Everyone cannot handle the same things. And everyone may not feel the need to do things, the way that you do. Please honor that.

I get where she is coming from also, she feels obligated and guilty if they aren't visiting but doesn't realize it doesn't make Grayson feel better the same way it makes her happy to see them. It rejuvenates her but it is draining him. I can imagine it makes it so much harder to continue seeing them and continue to have to tell them goodbye over and over plus seeing them there. Just seeing a loved one in that situation and knowing they are alive like he said, but can't call them cant see them at home cant feel any normalcy with them. I totally get why he feels that he needs a break some weeks i dont blame hime at all. Everyone needs to do what feels right for THEMSELVES.

I feel exactly as you and most listener's. But you nailed it! Grayson is like an old soul. The child has been through so much, it's amazing he's ok, mentally. One BIG thing for me that Savannah had said, was something to Grayson regarding what he's been through and how he personally feels and how he gets through it, how he may be able to help other's his age whose parent or parent's have been sent to prison for a long period of time and see how they're coping with it. Let's face it not many kids that go through any of this are blessed to have family to help or anyone at all and they end up in the system, which Does NOT care about them. So, they're chewed up n spit out at 18, alone, broke, forced to live on the street's to become prostitutes or gang members and eventually end up dead or in prison!! These kids need someone to trust, to believe in them, to understand them, to let them know it's ok to be angry n ok how they're feeling. But what they do from this point on, is up to them. Only they can decide which path to take. Anyway, I got a bit off track. The main thing is that not only is Grayson going through it but so is Chase, Savannah and Chloe and Nanny Faye!! But each of them has they're own unique way of dealing with it all. I actually think they all should have a podcast of their own ( of course when they're over 18) lol ❤

To hear him talk so open and honestly made me cry, because whether ppl want to admit it or not he said not one thing wrong and that’s what’s sad. Although their parents may need the visits the kids also need the breaks in between visits to deal with the emotional toll it takes on them seeing them there. Don't pressure yourselves about going to visit your parents every weekend. They have many years ahead of them where they are. That is too much stress on the family. Perhaps twice per month? Not four times per month. You have to keep the stress down. Chloe and Grayson are still growing up. Don't stress yourself out. I don't want you to become bitter and angry at your parents.❤️

Even half is way too long. I just hope it's not a mandatory sentence that they each got. They are not evil people. They made some bad decisions years ago. IMO, they could do things outside of prison to make up for past mistakes.

He's not 'bitter' - he's justifiably angry and feeling helpless because he cannot change this - the helplessness is the real cause of his anger. He is now aware of how rotten people can be and that this includes those claiming to care about justice. Sad when a child sees this horrid FACT. The last thing he needs is for anyone to tell him that what he's feeling needs to be FIXED - he just needs many moments of fun and laughter to give his heart and brain a rest - AND REALLY HEALTH FOOD.

I’ve never been through something like Grayson and the family are going through, but I do know that his mindset is only going to make things worse in the end. You can’t go through life so negatively. Whenever you’re down, you have to take a step back and think of all the things you are grateful for. You still get to see your parents and hug them. There’s a lot of people that don’t get to do that. You have nice clothes on your back, food on your table, a roof over your head, and loving siblings that are in your corner. Your parents are going to be home again, so that is something to look forward to. This may be a horrible moment in your life, but there is light at the end of this tunnel and there are so many people out there that have it so much worse than you. That goes for everyone. There’s always someone that has it worse. Choose gratitude and put God above all ❤️

If he can figure out how to overcome and process the trauma (these negative thoughts on people) and instead approach them with understanding and unconditional love, he will gain loyalty and trust with his employees and clients. But right now he is in protective mode of his emotions, family etc. He needs to go through this process first, however long it takes (could be years) and come out the other end with wisdom and understanding of what he was dealing with. @@maryostiguy8129 True, however, there are many times when the system will put one parent in jail first to do their sentence, then the other (i.e., Joe & Teresa Guidice). That way, the children (who have nothing to do with the crime) have one parent in the home, instead of no parents. Meaning, the parents still do time for the crime without the children having to be traumatized. And yes, the parents should have thought about their children before committing the crime. But, when they don't, someone should. The fact is, the children are innocent but are the ones who hurt the most. Our system should take the children into consideration. ALWAYS!!

@@tennishathompson9675 Two wrongs don't make a right, Tennisha. Grayson's point is that the system is VERY broken (not just for the rich). Chloe is 8 years old. She doesn't know what rich is, but she does know she lost her biological parents to drugs and her grandparents to jail. She should not suffer because her grandparents are rich and/or because innocent people are in jail. The judge should have taken everything into account when sentencing, especially the children. For the children's sake (not Todd & Julie's), she could have given consecutive sentences instead of concurring. As a country, we need to do better!

My heart hurts for Grayson. I see his views and thoughts but he missing out on so much feeling the need to keep everyone at arms length. I hope someone comes into his life but absolutely special and able to help him want to reach closer. Savannah my heart breaks for you because you want the best for your siblings and I know it’s breaking you hearing these words. Sending you both prayers to find the strength to keep moving forward.
