my dad is the tall guy in the front. nice to see him at exactly the same age i am now. thanks 👍🏻
Your dad was a music badass. He made my life better with his finger on the pulse.
@@indranidatta7130 I think she's talking about the guy in the audience
Your dad is fu***** legend, thanks. Unless you mean the tall guy in the audience, then... well, at least he has good taste. I damn well near LOVE this band. Show you the world has no taste that they remain unknown to so many.
@@KotleKettle Indrani is close friends with the guy in the audience - she's well aware of whom Kyla is referring to.
That’s so cool!
RIP DAVE
the dude was just incredible and greatly missed
true story
I was there and all I can say is the Dead Milkmen put on a real show! The sound is great and they played so many awesome songs. The show back then was 7 or 8 dollars, fudge I think this was the best money I ever spent!
I saw them in a club called Barbue in Copenhagen, Denmark sometime around 1990 or 1991. I remember walking on to the stage ('twas a small club with few people and no bouncers), demanding that they play Tiny Town - and so they did! Grand band...
What a great band. They taught me the true essence of punk music. When I first heard them and my friend called them a punk band I was taken aback: there's no distortion, they play arpeggios all the time, they don't seem particularly angry. How is this punk? Once I understood I was able to start making punk music also.
Basically when you wonder what defines punk and you adhere to your interpretations definitions or what you were told is punk you become unpunk automatically except for this message which will self-destruct since who cares
I'm pretty sure we're friends on discord. I'm 100% sure friends with a Dog Jones. It may or may not be you.
Man I love arpeggios. Them and REM changed my life with guitar
I was at this show - 14 years old! In the front by the keyboards. Such a happy show! I remember someone on stage needed a bandaid for a cut at some point.
That’s so punk
This upload is a treasure. What amazes me is that it’s shitty sound quality, yet you can still make out like every word.
They sound bad all the time.. which is what made their lowfi sound so FN awesome!

this band changed my musical life haha, such a great band
Saw the DM more times than I can count. They always stayed after to sign whatever and talk. At 16, my buddy stole some cassettes out of a car and Bucky Fellini was one of them. My life was forever changed. Thanks DM!
whoever uploaded this video and time stamped them all thank you for your service
So fuckin' Philly. I love it
I was too young to see these shows my older brother attended. Not this one but a lot at the Troc. Still at 10 years old they were a favorite band plus that Philly pride!
i was lucky enough to see these guys during this time... a lot
Wow, it's crazy to see myself and my friends, so young and having so much fun at this show. Front row, stage dives and singing all my favorite songs.
Dave was the only one really feeling the music in the band. RiP dear Dave.
Miss Dave Blood.
My friend Rick Ring borrowed me the Belzebubba cassette in grade 7, 1992ish, and it still smokes.Eat Your Paisley is my fav though.
I'm watching in 2022, can't wait to see them next weekend!
Dave Blood RIP
Long live Dave Blood!
Man this is the best thing ever, finding dead milkmen shit is rough! I'll probably never get the luxury of seeing them, but i can sure as hell hope. At least I have my mom's stories of her seeing them lol
Do you watch their youtube channel? It's pretty amazing how low key it is.
@@dicknarcowitz I do! I was able to send them a letter too bc i got their adress from the comment section

@@Astr0Bot ya gimme a little bit I'll get the full set. I'm doing this on my phone so it'll take me a bit (gotta keep pausing it to get the time stamp etc)
@@Astr0Bot yeah that's the WHOLE set. The Yardbirds cover "Heart Full Of Soul" is awesome, they never recorded it though. But yeah copy that and throw it in the video description. CHEERS!
@@frenchabortion Thank you SO much!
You missed "Dollar Signs In Her Eyes" @18:00
Watching this while battling Covid right now. Nothing more fun than seeing the Dead Live in 2021!
Feel better man. Glad this video brings you some enjoyment.
@@Astr0Bot My mom bought me the Big Lizard and Eat Your Paisleys records in 1987. The first band to set me on course for Punk and Alternative music. Been my favorite ever since. I never got to see them live in person but with this video, I see it would be a great time! Thanks for uploading. I've been in my house for over a week now. Love this
awesome setlist and what a show!! love them. seen them with my brother in 94.
Right on man!! Thanks for the upload. Saw them in Cincinnati later that year with my ultra cool big sis. She got me into DM, Camper Van Beethoven, They Might Be Giants, REM, Fugazi, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division.... you know, all the greats! Thanks sis!
I’ve been listening to the milkmen since my teens and I never knew there was another singer.
This presumes that Rodney can sing, which he can't really. He just yells the lyrics.
Same. Their voices are similar. Trippy, mannnn!
I dont even know who sings which song
Hi kids. I was 17 when I first heard these songs.
1987
Soundtrack of my youth.
They have two VERY DIFFERENT singing styles!!! LOL. And their songs have a different feel. Joe Jack did more singing after Beelzebubba. It was almost half and half!
The "Shapes of Things" closer is punk AF. Just like the original Yardbirds' version was back in the day. Awesome.
The Philly accent is the best.
Love it. Such a shame that the philly accent is sort of dying out.
The DM for life!!!👍😀
"All Around the World" 🌎 is soooo good live!!!!!
So friggin cool 💚
Holy shit - I saw the DM at Maxwells! Thanks for this video!!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
What a great set and fan recording. Thanks for posting.
Great show, thanks for posting this. Milkmen so entertaining live.
TY for posting!
Man! I love it! Thank you for sharing this
This is AMAZING! Thank you!
Only issues with this video is no Surfin' Cow that night. probably their best live song.
Saw my first show not long after this.
great tracklist! wish I was there.
Great sound quality!
Sounds perfect
this is so nice.
i wouldn’t mind having dollar signs in her eyes to be the last song i ever listened to
This is awesome! thank you so much Eric!
Alex et Michel, Gatineau, Québec, Canada
My pleasure! So glad you enjoyed it! It was a great show!
I saw them at Zaphod Beeblebrox in Ottawa in '92. Were you there?
Increíble 🇵🇪❤️ dean's dream ❤️🥃
So weird seeing Rod with LONG HAIR!!!!
What a fun set, I can't believe they didn't perform Punk Rock Girl. I remember having a disagreement with Rodney on the old TDM forums about asking him to play some "oddities" in concert like "Do the Brown Nose" which I wouldn't consider an oddity since it's on their greatest hits album... but he disagreed and said at fests they only play the real hits. So I went to see the show and got really excited when towards the end of the set he said "We decided to go ahead and play a little bit of an obscure track tonight that we don't play at fests..." I was like OMG they're gonna play Do the Brown Nose... only to get Rick Rolled by "The Thing That Only Eats Hippies"... Again, one of their greatest hits... the lead single from Eat Your Paisley... how obscure.
Not many of the real early songs here......no Punk Rock Girl, take me to the Specialist, Stuart, instant club hit
59:13 beautiful breakdown
I love these guys they’re so funny
XOXO!!!
Rip that dead dude. Fuggin Dave Blud is Dan Cooper.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Jeff Beck!"
Thank you so much, what a great recording!

That's some warped guitar work.
These are a few of many smells
Oh My Gosh ! This sounds great :D where did you get this? and what did you use to get this vhs onto a computer ? I need help with that.
Hi! Sorry just saw this. I shot this myself on a Hi8 camera. The tape has been sitting in a drawer for 25 years and I finally used a service to get it transferred to digital! Glad you enjoyed it.
It really does sound and look great!
Eric Hauser wow incredible, thanks so much for posting
@@Astr0Bot I was at this show and see me and all my friends from the past in front of the stage. Thanks so much for posting this.

What's Rodney's T shirt? Looks like a Marilyn Manson shirt.... but this is before Manson really became known...
It looks like...BONGWATER. I saw his shirt and my mind went to the album cover of "Too Much Sleep" by Bongwater.
Yes it is Bongwater (as in the Shimmydisc band)
where's that thing that eats hippies!?? holy hair batman
Is that guy wearing a Marilyn Manson
Shirt ? Wtf
Please whatever you do dont go religious in your later years... yourself down the road
U can do a lot of stupid shit when you have friends and even worse without. Taking back the question marks
Good version of Smokestack Linghtnin
