i was excited to learn about a new colour scheme but the answer turned out to be "use greys".
all jokes aside this is very helpful especially the part about how shadows take on the colour of secondary light sources. it never occurred to me that the blue sky is an ambieant light source because the sun is... the sun.

Even if I knew this before, I didn't know how to apply it, but your explanation with the saturation color wheel helped a lot!
    Thanks! ;D

this is exactly what i needed for the point of my art experience i am at right now.
Especially the part where you explained that there is a faster way to get to the blue if you just cut through the middle instead of going all the way around. It just helps me mentally to visualise the right colours that i need a lot more than what i did before

This is the benefit of still painting from life with physical media. It keeps you honest regarding colour and shadow.

I always follow the principle you described here. The tone of the shadows determined by environment, and if that environment has only one temperature in colors, well, shadows and light will be the same temperature. But the shadows will be less saturated and I'll have to work my focus with some other tricks, like mentioned earlier saturation, strategic rendering, air perspective and particles (dust, smoke and sparkles, if scene has them). Actually, I did that even I just started, just unknowingly.

Please help me with your 1 year knowledge.
Colors are just local colors + color of the light. So how does the knowledge of cool and warm colors help at all. For example in Mars, you wont see a shadow leaning towards blue, no matter whether you put a blue light or a yellow light on the subject.
      Am I right?

If you shined a weaker blue light into the shadows on Mars... strong enough to overpower the brighter red from the sky, you would have blue shadows. Warm and cool is always relative as well. You can have "warm" colors that are less saturated that appear cool next to warmer colors. It's never absolute formula.

Great video on color temp with lots of good points. However you missed the cool light blue patch on the underside of the hat on the right. But this was colored at the discretion of the artist and not a true rendering. If we saw a real photo of that lighting situation we would probably see a red light reflection under the hat.
