      Reality, then don't get better with age. They will stain, show rim marks veg tan does not absorb much so any sweating from a glass will spill over and seep threw. If you live in a hot climate all that water will lead to mold if not dried out even if the leather has a top coat seal. Leather coasters only really work as you showed them in good dry conditions. I've been making them for decades, plain, tooled and engraved, I use them and replace them about every 3yrs.

    NB 574 are the only shoes that do not cause a lot of foot pain for me while walking miles and miles. I have arthritis in both feet and it is firm enough and also soft enough and most importantly WIDE enough. They don’t have grommets that push into tender foot bits. I can get two years of heavy duty walking out of a pair. They really hold up to trail walking as well as pavement. For me they are worth the money.

    The 574 has been my go-to shoe since 2005. The canvas versions are the best because the upper lasts forever. The only improve I'd like is the sole because I walk clean through them in a year.

    I've been absolutely raving about NB for the past 3 years since I got the More Foam V3. I've gotten 3 more NB shoes since then purely because of absolutely how insanely comfortable their foam is and the wide toe box. The wide toe box is CRIMINALLY underrated when buying these shoes. Coming from Nike, it was night and day difference. I've got really bad flat feet so combining that with a wide feet, NB was the perfect fit. Spacious, cushiony, and not to mention absolutely killing it in the shoe design game. You can't beat NB from their lifestyle everyday shoes, running shoes, and their marathon shoes.

      @MA-qu3hi Місяць тому +7

      The made in USA line is absurdly well built, my 990 have lasted years and I have beat the heck out of them. Although I think the price has gone up like $60 in just a couple years, not sure I can justify that

    • @chorseundgrd
      @chorseundgrd Місяць тому +2

      The Made in UK materials are solid but the build quality is very shoddy. I bought a pair of MIUK 991s and there were a bunch of issues. Glue stains, misaligned panels, the 991 stitching on the heel of one of my shoes was off center. I did some research and the anecdata says that this is not a rare occurrence. I decided not to return because I was afraid that the replacement pair would be worse and I needed everyday beaters. Very disappointing for the price point. I've never had a problem with MIUSA pairs.

I had the 1st pair of Nikes (waffle blue and yellow) in the school and was laughed at when I turned up in my Adidas Los Angeles. Anyways, one day the shoe salesman showed my this new brand that they had started to stock called New Balance. It was by far the lightest running shoe that had ever worn. I was very impressed but as a sprinter & Discus thrower (yes weird combo back then) I stuck with my Adidas spikes and Nike all purpose trainer (can't remember model). Literally just bought another pair today , 574 Classic - I think I have 10 pairs in diffrent colorways - I have worn all brands and these are the perfect shoes for my feet, one of the only pairs of shoes that I wear down past the sole tread. I have 2 pairs of the 574 Legacy but to me the 574 Classic is the best - more comfortable, light and breathes better. Best shoe.

    The shoes are beautiful and comfortable, but unfortunately, they lack durability. I purchased a pair for work, and they fell apart after just 2-3 days. However, they are excellent for casual wear.

    574s have been my work shoe for the last four years. I get about 8-9 months out of a pair in harsh conditions (10 hr. Shifts running around, kicking doors open)
    In my experience the upper gives up the ghost before the midsole/ outsole. They are still comfortable when I have to retire them for looking a little rough.

    I was issued NB574 in the U.S. Army. I exclusively ran in NB574 and Saucony Jazz throughout my enlistment. I still have a soft spot for both models and have some amongst my adidas SL72s. The fact these “budget” runners are made similar to original specs is part of the allure. The 574 Legacy and the Jazz 81 are even more comfortable.

    I've become an NB head in the last 5 years. My oldest pair looks a little beat up but the outsole and upper are in great shape and while I'll need an insole due to the inside being well worn, those shoes will last me 10 years. Perfect shape for my wide feet. Most comfy sneakers I've owned, I niw have several. NB is my only sneaker now.

    I used to collect 574s, besides Palladiums, they're just the most comfortable sneakers I've every worn. Back in the 90's they also let long baggy pants drop in a way that the back of the cuffs wouldn't drag as much on the ground.

    In middle school, while wearing exclusively basketball shoes, I got a pair of 574s off the recommendation of a friend. I remember the moment I put them on. "Oh", I said, knowing a new world had burgeoned.
    Light, comfortable, balanced, clean. Undeniably better than the Jordans sitting next to them, for the requirements of a normal day. $60 retail, available with no hoops.

    Absolutely love my New Balance 574’s. I’m also a big Lems guy (I have 6 pairs!) so for me it’s a combo of lems and New Balances for the sneakers. I always buy the wide width in New balance to give even more room.

    I wear my New Balance 574s and 9060s pretty much 50/50 throughout the week for about the last year. Through this side-by-side perspective, I can confidently say that the 574 is the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned, especially after it is broken in. I even prefer it to my Brooks, which I previously thought was going to be peak comfort (and the 574 was nearly $60 cheaper both my Brooks and 9060s).

    For people with haglund disease new balance 574 help a lot because of the high heels. I almost use only 574 shoes for 8 years and they saved me a lot of pain. In long term they became my worst enemy because they support my wrong type of walking, that gives too much weight to the front of the feet, adding other pain to the one on the heels.

    Just put 210km on my 574s while in Japan. They were extremely comfortable. I did notice the quality between mine and my wife's old pair has definitely dropped. Also noticed some new ones had a better build quality. Seems like the quality differs between colorways. Obviously the made in US had the highest quality.

    I've mostly ever just worn vans, so when I bought these at $80, I expected them to last like a year tops. I've had them for two years and they're still comfy and look nice. Only complaint is the way the sole extends significantly past the back of the shoe, because it makes them uncomfortable to drive with.
