      I'm curious whether dedicated ones are much better than ones with the kit on or like your honda where you can adjust it if I've got that right. Yea Carl has the Stihl I think, best ask him how it's going. I've always just boxed and removed grass or binned but a lot of mine would be fine mulching 👍 cheers for stopping by

      Dedicated mulchers are far superior. I use the Husqvarna which for me beats them all except AS motor they are just the beasts of mulching mowers. Used a lot of brands when I worked for the council

      @@LewisgardenservicesLtd Not a fan of mulching, mainly because my lawns tend to be long and wet, it would be interesting to try a dedicated mulcher, its what they are designed for, I think mulching with a standard mower with mulch kit, would need a couple of passes to chop the grass up fine enough to not see it. but as I say a lot of my lawns that would benefit from it the grass is too long.

    Like mulching when we can. A struggle on fortnightly gardens. My mate has the dedicated Honda mulcher, HRS536VK i think it is, which he's happy with. We use the Stihl one which we like. Nathan with huge lawns you guys mow over there I am curious why rideon mowers arent used especially the zero turns and stand on riders. Is it access or the availability of these machines ? Down here a lot of guys used 32 inch standers when gate access is limited .If catching is required side catchers can be used and the walker brand riders have rear catchers a produce outstanding cut quality ! Most of the zero turns have mulching plugs and with mulching blades cut quality is good .

      In my area it's for residential work it's access, old gardens and streets usually have small gates, steps and split levels etc. zero turns and standers are popular on commercial work and bigger stand alone residential properties but I'd say 80% if mine 21" is the max you'd get around. If it’s a dedicated mulcher, the husky LB553 is ina league of its own. The finish is faultless, its pace is quick and the front wheel drive makes it very quick and easy to pivot and turn it on the back wheels (although I always find a better result by going around in a circuit rather than long runs and turns). If it’s a multifunction mower, the Honda hrx 537 gives a decent mulch for what it is and the changeover from collect to mulch is so easy with the lever instead of separate mulch plug.
    One question if I could ask you if I may…..with the Honda pro mulch blade fitted, does the Honda pro collect well or is it a non starter?

      Nathan the Front drive one leaves a bit of a mess and not as quick as the Rm 655v on hills. Engines are crap enough have had a few issues. Not as hardy as old hondas. I will not buy from Stihl again terrible covering warranty. All good here. Working too hard. Hope you are surviving

    Husqvarna is the best lower professional one. Tho if you want the beast of all them it has to be the AS motor. Tho Grin comes in second. Used most of the brands when i worked for the counc

      How do those front wheels hold up on the AS?

    • @robertblount3143
      @robertblount3143 4 місяці тому

      The front wheels hold up fine. They are designed to be small to make less indentation in the grass when cutting unlike normal wheels which will leave a wide indentation when cutting

    • @robertblount3143
      @robertblount3143 4 місяці тому

      Plus it really only dedicated mulchers that have a high height of cut.

    I mulch loads mate and am still yet to find the perfect mower, I've ruled out, Grin, AS and weibang and FWD ones due to various feature i dont like. Currently mainly using the little honda mulcher and enjoy it, even with its flaws. prob gona get a hrx537 this year as well as it ticks alot of boxes with what i need and want. Oh and try taking that top blade off on your setup, and just run the one bottom mulching blade, ive found it better in some cases for some reason.

      Good to know you've tried a few and still looking, recon the 537 any good for it? Will try with that blade out and let you know. Cheers mate 👍👍

      @@LewisgardenservicesLtd It would be that or the weibang for me. Yeh 537 is good, its light, got a powerful enough engine and there is loads of different blade setups you can use. Also got bagging if needed.👍

      @@LewisgardenservicesLtd Not sure of exact model has Honda engine. Use it at a place I work at every fortnight has struggled if it’s very wet grass but that’s only problem. The lawns are big do about 18000 steps when doing them . Gets put away go back in a fortnight and it starts. Front wheel drive . Worth a punt if you can get one at right price.
