I feel so free when doing velocity banking because I have my checking attached to the LOC and things come out automatically from the LOC since its free and unlimited overdraft protection. My check goes into my checking and all I have to do is transfer my check to LOC twice a month. Otherwise, I don't have to do anything!!!!!

@ I have a capital one credit card right now. I keep overpaying the payments and barely owe them anything, I also am using flex for my rent which is raising my credit score as well because I always pay on time. I’m doing better I just still have a lot to learn after a lifetime of being in poverty.

Can you do this concept using a larger amount? 100,000 (minimum withdraw) HELOC at 7.86 % variable with 90k debt consolidation and income of $6000. Could be $8000 if the funds routed to savings is rerouted.

I always side with paying down any credit lines. For the simple fact that it increases your safety net and have higher interest rate. This will also lower your utilization, which can help you to easier qualify for new or better LOC. If sent to student loans the money is gone and your utilization isn't going down as fast. Such a breath of fresh air compared to Ramsey’s slow as molasses debt pay off method. He seems to think that if we all just got a jobs delivering pizza we could get out of debt. Well most people who have full time jobs have a very hard time getting hired for part time work. Managers don’t want to hire someone who has a 9-5. They won’t bother scheduling around your full time job. I’ve been denied many times for part time work. They want people who have “flexible” schedules (aka no other jobs).

Get a secured credit card with your bank or credit union. It will raise your score.

So I started this last Wednesday and my credit has plummeted 14 points…has anybody else experienced this? Not sure what I’ve done wrong
@jen Yes, that’s completely normal. If you keep doing VB correctly your score should increase significantly!
