Bought an ST two months ago with 81k miles on it, bent a rod within the first 4k miles. just had the engine replaced under warranty -- it's great! can't wait to start modding it.
I'm sorry but as a previous ST owner, I just can't believe that an intake and intercooler as well as a tune are giving 290 whp. I may be wrong but the k03 threshold is around 25 psi before you lose efficiency and stock to the ground 252 equivilates to roughly 210 whp i believe. So if you wrangled up 80-90 horsepower with doing some air mods then I'm trading in my rs and going back to an ST effective tomorrow lol you need to get rid of your balance shaft if you really are pulling that power because at this point it's holding your motor revs back and will eventually cause serious issues. There could be more done to the car. I’m taking it to a tuner soon to get it checked out. There’s also a cat less downpipe. But I raced a stage 1 tuned focus RS the other day that a buddy of mine owns and we were neck and neck. Really makes me wonder what else could be done to it.
I think the stock k03 maxes out at 290/300 whp . But that’s running e30 from what I read . 91 or 93 E tuned maybe 260-270 whp . The tq these cars make insane with stock turbo . 380-400 tq on e30 .

I bought my ST about a year and a half ago now i got a 2014 ST3 with 50k miles for $16k. My cars worth like 2.5k more than that now on kbb with 65k miles😂. Anyways I originally had no intentions of modding the car because I wanted it to be "reliable" lol. Here i am now Stage 3 on E30 tuned by JST lmfao. Been contemplating going big turbo for a few months now. A gtx 2860 gen 2 on e30 can get you up to 380 whp on stock engine & without aux fuel.
@@rileypaynestewart lol thats the Internal Wastegate Pressure, IWG. I mention it becasue in order to hit 300 on the stock turbo you need an upgraded wastegate; the powerband pulls to redline unlike the stock wastegate that falls off at 5-5500rpm. I hit 25 psi of boost on e30.
Depends on what you want. This would be a good video idea for me to make. I’ve driven both, the focus st is a lot faster than the fiesta, but not as good at handling. Still they both have great handling. But if you don’t need to be as fast as a focus st then the fiesta is a good option because it’s much cheaper. Now I would say mods transform these cars like crazy. But you’ll have a really hard time getting g to 300whp in a fiesta ST. Even with a bigger turbo. Both great cars though. I just feel like personally I’m glad I got the focus because I probably would’ve wished I got a focus if I had gotten the fiesta.
I have a focus st and while i do love it I've heard the fiesta can be even more fun to drive sometimes. I think you should go for a good quality fiesta st & just plan on adding better parts to it as you get the money. Im sure a full bolt on fiesta st on e30 would be a blast!! My focus sure is
@@nickrossol9801 yeah every youtube review says the Fiesta ST is more fun to drive. I’m going to test em both out and see how different they are. I will be going full bolt on which ever one I go with. Sucks in my area the Focus ST is going for around $22k with decent mileage.
@@joeybruh916 Yea the value of cars has gone up a lot the past year or so too. I got mine right before covid hit luckily. 22k is quite a bit more than what they were when i was shopping for mine. If you do end up getting one plan to spend around $3000-$4000 to get all the bolt ons for stage 3 and a good tune.

Deleted my washer fluid cap day 1 of ownership of my '17 ST3. Best mod out there for these cars IMO.
I did the front muffler delete with a stock downpipe and yes it does still have the muffler and it sounds amazing

clean ST, but you're not pushing 290 wheel on 93, probably closer to 270. 290 would be about what you could get from those mods running E30.
