My faith is based upon what I know to be true - facts.
But I can not deny that God intervenes and directly reveals Himself to some in this way. I have spoken with Christians who have converted from Islam in Iran and other countries. There is a revival happening there.
Iranians say as much as half of the people in underground churches there came to Christ through direct revelation.

There's no denying the Truth. People are waking up and seeing how Evil the world is. If Evil exists there must be a God.
I think there's a lot of people wanting a cultural alternative to the current sad state of society. But unfortunately, I've not heard any of these celebrities that are supposedly converting actually articulate the gospel. They all have said something to the effect of being attracted to the Christian moral ethic, which is good and understandable. But that's not the gospel. You can agree with the moral precepts of Christianity and still not actually be a Christian. The gospel is Christ's righteousness for you and your sins cast on Christ. But I'm not hearing MIA, Brand, Peterson, or anyone else actually articulating that basic core truth of the gospel
I think there are a lot of people feeling guilty about things they have done.
Becoming baptized doesn't make you a Christian. It just makes you a wet sinner. You must first be born-again. I hear no one in the media claiming conversion mentioning that they have done this. This is anti-Biblical. The Bible also never mentions "confirmation." The process is: saved>repentance>baptized. Baptism is the public display of your salvation. Baptism means nothing without the former. All these celebs are doing is just giving people false assurance as they're led to hell.

I'm not hearing anyone say that the death of Jesus is the only hope for salvation from sin. Jesus is not just "another path to enlightenment;" apart from faith in his death on the cross as your only hope for salvation, you will receive the wages of sin, which is eternal death in hell. "Belief in God" is not enough to save anyone from hell. Believing that Jesus is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" is one's only hope.
So your omnipotent, omniscient God created me, knowing that I would never believe in Jesus, and that because of him, I would go to hell? Knowing all of this, he created me anyway? Sounds like a sick God.

I grew up in an atheist household. My mother refused to incorporate religion into our home, due to her parents (my grandparents) using religion as a tool for punishment and as justification to be hateful. I have since found God and I wish I could bring my mother back into the light of Jesus Christ and show her that true Godly people do not use Him in such a twisted way. Unfortunately there are a lot of Christians out there that use Him as justification to be cruel while convincing themselves they are doing the right thing. Be humble, be still, hold thy tongue, and God will make you strong and bring you many joys. My life has gotten so much better after embracing The Lord! There are evils in America that wish to stop people like me from living a life of love and peace. You may think I am a nobody, and that no one is "out to get me," but you are wrong, for the evils of this country are out to stop ALL of us. The devil has infiltrated the deepest levels of our government, media, and entertainment - but we will not let him win!

As someone from a Soviet culture (now an immigrant in the USA) I believe that the resurrection was staged by the Romans, as explained in a popular book where I'm from - "The Gospel of Afranius"; like many others, I read it in childhood and never thought about this question again - until coming to the USA and noticing a stark contrast in the discussion of this question. What's wrong with that explanation?? I'm confused, what am I missing here?..

When she mentioned that, after acknowledging a certain type of truth, then, more truth was revealed to her... That reminds me of something my own pastor told me one time... "God will never give you more revelation than you are willing to obey."
It is my opinion that your Pastor is misguided in thought. The book of Revelation, Christains don't "obey", neither the commands, for there are levels to understanding. I thank you for your comments. Though some things on first hearing sound ok, deeper thought reveals they are not.
@lindatenn8028 hmmmm... that's interesting... because MY Bible says in Rev 12:17 that "So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went off to wage war on the rest of her children (seed), those who keep and obey the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus [holding firmly to it and bearing witness to Him]." This tells me that the devil only attacks those who ACTUALLY obey God's law... not sure what part of Rev YOU were reading from (since you didn't give a chapter & verse). You probably also believe that women can be pastors and think that people can't lose their salvation, huh? Jesus was constantly saying that if you love me, you will obey my word. Sorry, but if your theology doesn't include a changed life, then it's just religion. That same pastor also said that "salvation that doesn't change you, doesn't save you." He is right.
@lindatenn8028 I'm sorry, but I feel compelled to respond AGAIN to your "Christians don't obey" comment... that is nowhere in the bible. I don't understand how you can claim to be a Christian, but don't feel the need to want to please God. The true nature of a real Christian is a heart that wants to please God. How do you please God? By obeying his word. Jesus, many times told people to "go and sin no more"... that tells us two things... 1. He is instructing (commanding) you to stop sinning... 2. He wouldn't tell you to do something that was impossible for you to do. Of course, if you are still an unsaved sinner, then yes, it would be impossible. But when you are saved, you need to learn how to crawl, then walk, then run in righteous living. Sure, you will stumble every once in a while, but you get back up and pick up where you left off. Witness to all of your friends... they will either get saved or they will stop hanging around you. Either result is fine. New converts need to build relationships with other Christians asap. My point is... being a Christian should result in a changed life... not perfection, but heading in the right direction... opposite of where you were going . When you want to please God, you do what you know he tells you to do... and none of it is "personal revelation." God will never tell you to do something that conflicts with his word. Reading the Bible and being under the preaching of a pastor that will hold you accountable. The moment you start believing the lie that there are parts of the Bible that you don't need to obey... you are in trouble.
@lindatenn8028 I'm just reading the Bible tonight, I came across a scripture that supports the "God will never give you more revelation than you are willing to obey" comment that you said wasn't biblical... Luke 8:18 (words of Jesus) "So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.” Pretty much sums it up as far as I'm concerned. Jesus CONSTANTLY said "why do you say you love me but don't do what I tell you to do?" and "if you love me, you will obey my word." I honestly think you need to reevaluate the quality of your Christianity. Jesus is coming back soon.

I'm literally crying. I LOVED MIA's music since 2003. Her last album was the last secular album I bought before getting serious about God when Paper planes came out. Its incredible how God is reaching out to all his children all over the world and bringing them home.

Turns out it’s been many famous converts to Christ. Thank God for this awakening. On earth as it is in Heaven! Even God told us to pray for it. So I do.

@blackspring9638 When you say something makes “zero sense”, you are saying that you don’t understand. When you don’t understand, you have 2 choices:
1. Ask a question for clarity. You seek to understand by letting a person know which part you don’t understand.
2. Ignore and dismiss what you heard and move on. There’s no reason to tell other people that it makes no sense to you if you’re not going to ask a question.
Just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean that others don’t. To be assertive you have to ask for what you need and want.

Jesus was against religion and that is why he was crucified. Religion is power but he was spreading the word of God. He was trying to opens everyone’s eyes and they killed him for speaking the truth. Religion is not the way.
Listen God says u need to read your bible your scriptures to make sense of it yourself and not fall victim to any traps so.. we just don't know what religions but read the bible..

We need more talks about Christ and how He transforms lives on Timcast, being as big of a show as it is and everyone getting depressed over the news and feeling like it’s all spiraling, it’s a huge thing for the people who watch to know there’s a way out that isn’t death. He isn’t a God of uselessness or weakness, He is the God of wisdom and reality, He created all we can and can’t see and He knows you and how to bring you back to Him. You can’t be fully fulfilled and walk in the absolute fullness of your purpose without knowing and following Him. I pray everyone here comes to know God and gets to know Him in a deep intimate way.

I had an open vision of Jesus in my bedroom on October 6, 2010 and He spoke to me and said "I am Christ, Creator of all things." That's how I became Christian. I've been having visions of Jesus and of angels ever since. Most recently was a few weeks ago.

I was an alcoholic, he began coming in my dreams. Speaking to me in the middle of nightmares saying " you will stay sick until you follow me" I woke up and woke my husband up at 4am. I was on and off a cane and had been hospitalized for a small stroke amongst many other things like daily vomiting. When I began to turn from the alcohol I was attacked by demons constantly. Until about five days in when I begged God to take me back and I had had that alcohol on the alter. He heard my prayers. I remember waking up and the colors of the world were brighter. I could feel him pushing me through daily task. For months God stayed so close to me Speaking in my dreams and answering questions I would be praying on. Everyone could see that gravity no longer held me down, and the scales were removed from my eyes. The bible began to make more sense. The stores became so compelling I couldn't put it down. What was nonsense to my mind became oxygen. Thank you, Father for your love. Thank you Jesus for saving us and thank you Holy spirit for being the lover of my soul!
