    10:47 In my opinion, If you want to ask Thais "Can you speak English", it doesn't make sense that you need to say it in Thai. You just ask them in English. If they can speak English, they would understand.

    • @seibertron500
      @seibertron500 6 місяців тому

      its just being polite to the thai populace for asking. because like asking the same in foreign countries, they will just respond with no or the equivalent in their language if they don't speak english. but this is also useful for people that know english to learn is because thais do not have alot of avenues to speak english for daily conversation, which is also why thailand is on the lower end in SEA on english fluency. believe it or not, english teachers in thailand can barely communicate against someone from the philippines that isn't even in the educational or business sector because english is their second language.

    • @jpjordan90
      @jpjordan90 2 дні тому

      If you ask in English and they cannot speak English, they might give you a wrong answer. Its less confusing and more polite to ask in Thai first and then switch to English.

      There's no sound of 'sh' as in sheep in English. So, it's better to stick with 'ch'. Also, don't get so bogged down with the romanization as it's never been standardized. It's meant just for a guide, it's always better and beneficial to learn the Thai characters from the get-go in your Thai learning journey.

    First 6 lessons good. But then its starts getting random. Thai 101 does this a lot I find gich is why I have not subscribed yet.
    They dont seem to focus purely on what a beginner requires.

    In most cases, the reason for unsatisfactory results of learning a foreign language is a loss of interest in the student, or you have stopped at some stage of their training and began to "stomp in one place. Thus, the effort and time you have spent in the absence of new techniques will not allow progress in mastering the language. For example, if you spend your time and effort learning the alphabet for months on end, you will not learn to read, write, speak and understand the spoken and written language. Yuriy Ivantsiv in his book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language" writes that you should not selectively stop at one thing, and try to gradually move forward, without skipping anything and not jumping, developing all the necessary language skills for you proportionally. Only then will you get effective results. In your strategy for learning any information for you, including a foreign language, you should adhere to the following principle: you made a breakthrough - mastered the new information, then you need to take the time to consolidate the material and bring it to automaticity. The next step - learn new material and master it, and so on. "There are no secrets to success. It's the result of good preparation, hard work, and learning from your mistakes." Colin Powell. Many thanks to the author of the channel for the tremendous work in creating the instructional video. Thanks to such helpful videos, we have rapid progress in language learning.

    Stop saying "super easy" This takes concentration and repetition. Try and learn Russian and tell us how "super easy" it was for you the first time. Let's see you make perogies, pizza or flambé a Cornish game hen in old arabic style. Let's see you do beam gymnastics blind folded and drunk and see how "super easy" it is
