any further discussion for this workflow? that use irradience map on material, what can we implement same technique with sss material and other material type which do not have that "use irradiance map" tickbox? can we use light cache instead of bruteforce? thanks Konstantin very helpfull.

GI data can be added to the existing map. It can be done in Max or in the IM viewer. As for the car you will be able to see the noise in the frame buffer and increase the quality (subdivs) if needed.

Very informative Mr. Konstantin, I do have questions regarding on animated proxy and what is the correct workflow on it, I have an animated onyx tree model and in may 3ds max scene I have 500 frames if I export the animated onyx tree model to animated proxy (let's say if my proxy is not animated , still only I'll have a 100MB file size ) then if I have animated proxy which have 500 frames then the 1 frame proxy which is 100MB will be multiplied by 500 so my animated proxy will have 50,000 MB ?

I have a question. You created proxies of large OBJ data but you never showed a way to add materials to proxies? and never showed how external texture if they are baked in vray proxies?

I am so confused to how trees are made and rendered using vray. How do you make the leaf texture be transparent where it is supposed to, tried importing a png of a leaf and making it a vray material, the "transparent part" turned out to be black.

The .vrmesh will save the object/material IDs in it. This means, you can assign IDs before you convert your models and use the Multi-Sub material of Max to apply materials after it is imported (the materials or textures are not saved in the file). In Maya the workflow is slightly different.

I hope you'll find the time answering my question (below), though I have already made some test about the issue and the result is my vrmesh have very large file size, is there no way around it? or is there a way to minimize or reduce my animated vrmesh file size?
    Thanks in advance.
