    Great story Martin...my first turbine experience was in 2001 Ram turbine...at that time very few people was flying turbines only os91 ducted fan. Still can't get enough of it 😇 It doesn't matter what piston powered warbird plane or 3D maneuver you're going...just fire up a turbine model and you got the spectators attention lol

    Martin, I'm coming from F3A myself. I have a smaller Avanti powered by a K45 and I have a T1 with a K140. I'm still building both but it'd be very cool to see a video on the do's and don'ts of power settings in the air and on approach due to the latency and spool up of the turbine. Maybe a shot of the flight but an inset of stick position as you're flying. I'd be very interested in seeing your throttle position in each segment of flight and taking that information to adapt to my aircraft. Thank you in advance!

    Very interesting and very detailed. They are many of us out there wanting to fly turbines and wondered if you can do a series or talk explaining set up of uat, gas start, electric retracts as like you say you had to find someone to learn from, many thanks

    Hello Martin! Needless to say that I'm admiring your channel and your flying. As a former model pilot I'm constantly musing about re-entering the hobby because I adore the jets but I'm afraid of the hurdles to reach that level - it's about 45 years since I did fly model airplanes mostly air gliders but motorized too so not much is left ... I would really love to see once the steps needed to get to that level of competence and the models you recommend to climb that ladder. I'm also interested in the build and set-up of (jet) models especially all the electronics that have entered the field since I was young. The progress is tremendous - when I stopped helicopter began to appear but jets didn't exist at all.

    Martin, hello from Colombia. How do you ship your jets when traveling? Should be a crate. Can you show how to build one? I have a BVM 1/6 F16. Thanks

      All good thanks. I considered a Lizard and the P-130Rx would have been my turbine of choice. I’ve sold several in the last couple of weeks, turbine of choice for Ultra Flashes now!

    Just interested to know if it's possible to 'buddy-box' the mode 1 Futaba TX to the mode 2 Futaba TX?

    What turbine do you suggest for 3D flying a 2.2m predator?

  • @N2RIT

    You don't need a special certificate to fly turbine in Spain? We have to have a turbine waiver here in the USA.

    Do JetCats run with Diesel or just with Kerosin?

    • @Domowoi2
      @Domowoi2 4 роки тому +1

      RC Turbines can use both, but often times the burn of Kerosin is cleaner and easier to get right. So most use Kerosin

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  4 роки тому +1

      Can use both, however if you can get your hands on Kerosene, do that. It is cleaner as mentioned by Domowoi2 and it just seems to run slightly smoother. It also doesn't smoke when you turn the engine off...

      I'm a fan of all your videos. I understand also the exhaust air might not be supersonic due to its high temperature.

    • @johnd9357
      @johnd9357 Рік тому

      @@gyzfr6the flow absolutely is supersonic. Larger jet turbines can have exhaust that us many times the speed of sound, which is why you see Mach diamonds in the exhaust plume. Temperature really doesn’t have much to do with it. Air is being compressed, fuel is being added and burned causing a massive increase in volume. All that volume coming out of the small nozzle of the turbine means it has to speed up drastically.
