    It always tickles me how you folks across the pond are impressed with 45 knots. My 26 Proline will hit 70 mph with a light load and the right props. My bass boat will top that! We just have a faster pace of life over here. Lover your videos. Thanks

    • @GoldenCroc
      @GoldenCroc 2 роки тому +1

      Its about money and weather in the end, not really the faster life part as such. Few in europe can afford to burn the amount of fuel it takes to push a relatively big boat fast. The weather also means the market for boats that are only pleasurable to use in great weather is small compared to more all weather boats. Lastly there are cultural and geographical reasons. So thats the answer as to why.

    Once took a ride in a Formula sportsboat, from memory, it was 31 ft, and very, very fast. At full chat the skipper said it was using about a gallon a minute of fuel.
    Would have been around 1994 I guess?
    Most impressed I've been in a boat was on lake Windermere when we were aksed aboard a Mastercraft ski boat, again, early 90's - the bought would have been a late 1980's model.
    Full beans down the lake, we were travelling - and the owner pulled hard on the wheel and spun it on its own length. It dug a hole then powered it's way out of it. Incredible.

    My Regal Commodore 2660 will do 35k top end, but because of the stepped hull, I can’t do high-speed tight turns. On the other hand, I can cruise at 28k @ 75% power. Guests are usually impressed by the performance of a petrol powered single-engined boat. It’s great to see these types of affordable sport cruisers in your videos.

    The Coho is lovely and was our intended next boat. But then we saw the Parker 850 at the Southampton Boat Show this year. We loved it so much that we placed an order there and then. It arrives in December 🤞
    You are bang on, Nick, the Coho is like a two seater sports car whereas we wanted a 4 seater cabriolet. If that makes sense. The beam, layout and fittings of the Parker simply blew the Windy away, in our opinion.

      @@AQUAHOLIC would be great to see a clear video of using outboard/sterndrive trims alongside trim tabs.
      Personally, I like to get up to speed, trim the engine a little and then just use the trim tabs for lateral, port/starboard levelling.
      But there’s a lot of confusing stuff out there which doubles up, etc.

    • @AQUAHOLIC
      @AQUAHOLIC  2 роки тому +2

      @@garryrobson That is exactly right. Tabs add drag, so far better to trim with the engine and only use as little tab as possible to correct roll. The only exception is planing at very low speed, where tabs can help by giving more stern lift.
