Really hitting me in the nostalgia with this one. My mom took me and one of my elementary school friends to see this one in the theaters which I realize now was over 30 years ago and now I feel old.

This was the second movie I saw on the big screen after The Lion King. Even tho it's a kid's movie, the deeper themes (death, loss, grief, spirituality), and the great score and atmosphere elevate it, I think it is genuinely a very good little movie.

Fatso, Stretch, and Stinky, are Casper's dad's older brothers.
In this film he does refer to them as his uncles. In the ORIGINAL comic series they weren’t even related to him, the names were also Fatso, Fuzzo, and Lazo. I’m not sure what made them stray so far away.

I am old enough to remember Father Guido Sarducci (the priest). He was a character played by Don Novello and was a regular guest on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in the early 1970's and was even better known for his appearances on Saturday Night Live, most during the Weekend Update but he also hosted twice (Novello was a SNL writer)

Didnt realize how dark caspers back story was till i got older. Poor kid stayed around and his dad was declared insane. Thats some dark stuff 😅. Love this movie and the nostalgia though lol
Casper as a franchise was always dark. The original 1940s shorts were very gritty. His first appearance explained the whole reason why he makes friends is so he can forget he's a ghost. And later after he's rejected, he attempts to kill himself with a train hitting him, only to squeeze his arm to see he's already dead, and he breaks down to tears. Basically it was a story about a miserable dead child damned to live in a miserable afterlife for all eternity and has to accept it. The later cartoons and comics tried to sugar code this by saying he's already a ghost baby created by his ghost parents when they got married and implies he'll grow up.
Eventually, the movie brought back the "dead child" concept and somewhat brought back the idea of Casper not wanting to be dead but this time he does it because it's the only way a girl would love him and actually had the chance to before sacrificing it and accepting his eternity as a ghost.
One character I feel who doesn’t get enough attention and credit is Casper’s dad. He obviously lost his wife early on and raised his son the best he could. The little things in the movie show how much he clearly loved his son. Drop whatever he was doing to play pirates with Casper. Made him a sled. But that sled inadvertently led to Casper’s death. His dad doesn’t give up and tries to bring him back to life with a machine. But obviously was committed before he could bring Casper back. Both Casper and his dad had tragic stories. But his dad’s dreams were fulfilled when Casper saved Kats dad. You don’t see or hear about him much but you can see where Casper got so much of his character from. I know that was a lot to say but every time I see or revisit the movie I always feel for Casper’s dad.
I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid. Basically forgot everything about it, except that Casper as a human was really cute. I thought the adult ghosts were annoying. XD
I haven't seen this movie in ages,but I'm sure if I put it on I'll be able to repeat the whole thing by heart(in Italian)and yes,Human Casper is 1 of the cutest things ever!Never forgotten about THAT for sure!!😍💛💙

I believe in ghosts. After my Dad passed a decade ago he would send me messages. When my mom passed all of the messages seemingly stopped. I thoroughly believe he was encouraging me and reassuring me he was always there but when mom passed that stopped bc they knew that if I knew they were still there waiting for me I’d have no real reason no to join them. I’m not suicidal. I just really loved being with my parents. They were my best friends and loved me like no other.

I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts since I've never experienced anything of that kind of stuff. However I do believe that houses and objects can contain energies. It's like the feeling you get when you visit a house, it's aura. Like if the stone and the wood kept the emotions of their past owners. Something like that.

Well in the 1996 TV show that sorta follows the movie's events explained Casper is 112 years old following his death, (turns 113 in April) meaning he died in 1895, 100 years prior. And even the trailer points out that he was wandering the halls of Whipstaff for a friend.

I definitely believe in ghosts, I was able to see them from child age to early 20's. Still a little sensitive to spirits, but sadly not as much as I'd like.

I love this movie. Casper's Lullaby is so iconic. Also I believe in ghost because my nana's basement was haunted and the ghost quite possibly saved my life once as a kid. I'm still kind of a skeptic when it comes to ghost videos though.

I absolutely loved Casper meets Wendy when I was a kid!
My whole thing, every time i watch this movie was always about the life juice. Like you i want to know how its made. But i aways had more questions with it, most of them stemming from the fact there is a full one and a partial one. Was the dad bringing animals or something back to life as an experiment to make sure it works before trying it on his son? And if so where do you get ghost animals from? If thats not the case then why didn't he try the machine as soon as he had one full dose? What was the partial dose for? Was he in the process of synthesizing a second dose? If so for who? And again if not then why didn't he use the machine? If he was locked up in an insane asylum then how did they capture him? Did he go to town for supplies and they ambushed him? Was he a glory hound and invited the press to watch him raise the dead? Clearly he had time to hide his machine so did he know they where coming or did he keep it hidden every time he was done working on it? See so many questions.

For USA school grades, it depends on the local school system.
When I was in school, Kindergarden and 1-4th were elementary, 5-6 were middle, 7-8 were jr high and 9-12 was highschool.
Then when I was finishing, they put 5th grade into elementary and made 6-8 one school that was called middle school and jr high interchangeably.
My elementary school is k-6, junior high is 7-9, high school is 10-12.
Well, they’re invisible and they are mysterious, like mother nature 🌬️ and I know a lot of other stuff other than playgrounds and most of the ghost can’t move on because usually day feel embarrassed about what happened to them. That’s why we got to show them like new technology other than like a 90s TV but I’m talking about like the future stuff like a Nintendo switch. Plus, I know that a lot of them really do like playgrounds mostly just because they’re probably adults now. And I haven’t been to a playground in forever, especially haunted one like the one that we have here as well. Along with the river as well.
Plus, ghost fish are pretty cool to mostly just because you could see the bones through their body like a skeleton fish or as some people call them like an x-ray fish

i was a kid when i first watched this movie maybe around 11 the sitter who rented it for me and my siblings to watch got scared of ghost after watching it to the point she had to have mom with her when she drove home

Dead Silence is a good movie.
I watched this movie a lot when I was a kid. There’s about three more movies. The second one was a prequel called Casper: A New Beginning and the third one was Casper Meets Wendy, both are pretty enjoyable, but not as much as this one. I don’t remember much about the fourth one, I just know it was completely animated.
They definitely lack the, shall we say, spirit of the original.

I don’t say “ghosts”. I say “spirits”. I do believe in spirits. I believe that the spirits of our loved ones visit us. For quite awhile after my fiancé’s death I & other people visiting me would turn on the bathroom light, but it wouldn’t turn on, until I called out his full name and told him to stop. It hasn’t happened for a while now. When he was alive, if you didn’t lock the bathroom door, he would turn the light off, shut the door and be back where he was when you went in the bathroom.
This movie is super-cute and made me love Christina Ricci(I watched this,then the 2nd Addams movie and _then_ the 1st!@.@)but my biggest crush here was actually Devon Sawa as Boy Casper...he's *SO CUTE!!!* 😍💛💙

When I moved out several years ago, I experienced strange things in the apartment. An eternal feeling of being watched, especially from a single corner in the living room. I told my mother about it, but she said it was natural to feel a little uneasy when moving away from home. I eventually got used to the feeling, although sometimes I impulsively looked over the corner. When I moved to a bigger apartment after 4 years, my mother told me the truth. The man who had lived before I took over the apartment had hung himself over in the corner where I felt watched. He was found after a month. He had felt very lonely and gave up on life. My mother had kept it a secret because she knew I would freak out if I knew what had happened. I never felt it was a bad thing, and actually think he thought it was nice to have some company. Since then I have never had the feeling of being watched, so I am sure there is more between heaven and earth.
Most people don´t share these experiences for fear of exactly what happened to Casper's dad- being considered insane. But the truth is many people, perhaps even most people have at least a story of something like this.
In my case, my grandma's house was haunted, and I only knew after years because the adults wouldn´t tell us kids about the skeletons they had dug up at the site when they first built it. So we were left to wonder why strange things were felt and heard at the house not just by us but by the dogs who wouldn´t even get near some of the most charged spots...

You have to watch that one and I remember the ending a little bit and then I remember the middle of how it was like whenever he went to school his friend kept riding him, and. all the other monsters kept trying to make him feel better. Plus I don’t even remember that movie that much just because it’s been so long. But I do remember the ending. It was one of those exact made me say. Aww plus I really think that you should watch.winey the Pooh and a boo to you too I think that’s what it was cause I know it was like a another scary Halloween movie plus I think that’s only other Halloween movie that I know of other than a Barbie one but it’s been a long time for that one too and the other one called kitty cats come to and fro and space dogs I know that one was cute and it made me say aw so cute. I would adopt all three if they couldn’t go back home. And I was like the little girl playing in the movie. Do you like I would definitely adopt all three of you just because of how much fun we could have but then she shows them a good time and then the mad scientist, which is still kind of mad but like one of those good mad scientists is like wow I can’t believe it and I don’t know if they made like a space dogs to or something maybe even a Third one that would be cool 😎
PS also the live action goosebumps both of them only because those are the coolest movies along with Ghostbusters but only one and two 3 was with girls and then it was more like kind of one of those girl power moment movies and then for was like it was just OK like you combined in that horror movie of Annabelle plus like the first child’s play plus the second one a little bit. It was kind of like one of those movies and then it was like. The future, and then it was like what the heck like someone was through the future time traveling and then it was like at the end you took the wacky world video like both parts into one though totally worth it that’s why I’d give it a C minus and a half but only because it looked more like the future movie like back to the future a little bit but it’s because it’s been a long time for that movie to

9:40 I do believe in ghosts. I'm 30 and I started believing in ghosts last year. I worked in a building that was formerly a tuberculosis sanitarium for children and personally saw/experienced numerous instances of ghosts (particularly witnessing objects move on their own, electrical malfunctions, and cold spots). This experience has been reported by the majority of the people who work there, as well as by clients who come to the various clinics in the building, many of whom report more frequent and vivid experiences than me, and all of whom use the same names for the ghosts without first hearing about the haunting, consistent with specific locations in the building where the name was given. The building is on a Halloween tour that takes people to haunted locations and it's the finale because of how frequently people experience actual incidences of haunting while on the tour. Fortunately, the worst they ever do is cause electrical malfunctions, especially with the elevators.
Please do Paranormal Activity 2! I know I have to be subscribed to your Patreon, unfortunately I'm can't afford it but hopefully you'll do this movie. It's the best out of all the others (especially the ending 😉)

I decided to buy Casper yesterday to remember the good times then looked up the Casper cast and came across a Casper rip-off called Ghoster a 2022 film about a young ghost that got trapped inside a mansion and needs help to escape the movie isn't bad but it's not goid either

The second Casper movie has practically no connection or continuity to the first one and is best left by itself. It wasn't that good to begin with so don't think of it as a continuation and if you decide to watch it think of it as a stand-alone film.
