      Actually Jalisco cartel financed the autodefenses, 2013 around they started fighting the caballeros templars and in 2017 they betrayed jalisco cartel and joined to caballeros templars, so never were real civil people always had weapons from cartels, imagine now pieblos united or cartels united or autodefenses sell drugs and with that money they buy weapons to groups such Hellzboya,

    I do not see anything bizarre about civilians arming them self and forming militias to protect themselves. I come from the U.S.A and there are plenty of civilians with weapons and plenty of non government militia. I being one of them armed civilians, and happily I didn't have to steal them, I simply bought it at the store.

    I'm from Yurecuaro, I remember if you went out past like 7 PM, you were asking for trouble. The streets were empty, which made me sad because growing up I remember everyone outside and kids playing late into the night. I'm glad that now its slowly easing back into those times, but for a while those cartels just ruined communities.

    I'm a wetto I lived in Morelia I lived on the street there in downtown of you go looking for trouble you will find it lost my debit card so I had to beg from these humble beautiful people for peso to eat I live Morelia and love Mexico I was like the only wetto these people saved my life I had I small blanket freezing out the park outside of the blue hospital and was g given a tent and a blanket and are free at 8 PM every night no one ever gave me a hard time and I was on the street at all hours I remember almost crying at getting 43 peso for food and mescale to ease the pain of no hope anyway I made it back to the States I still go back to Morelia and love Mexico

      You missed the point. She's not saying that only drug cartels drive Suvs or luxury cars. Suvs attract attention. If a drug guy sees a nice car he likes..what does he do?... he stops it..and takes it. Therefore, it is a good idea to take a car that doesn't attract attention, so that one isn't pulled over.

    My family is from Michoacan Mexico and I've been there yo Morelia and i live about 1 hr and 30 min away from there but we live in the hills and its a beautiful place/state btw the pueblo i live in/visit where my relatives/family is called La Estancia near Zinapecuaro de Figueroa something like that

    My family's home land . I visited Morelia when i was just 8 yrs old. My mother' and father and their family's lived there since the great mexican revolution. I remember the smell so perfectly clear. Of the dirt beneath my feet ,mountains in the sky ,animals all around me, a huge lake that dries up and fills up every year a couple feet away from my grandparents house. I want to go back someday and bring my kids.

    always wanted to go fishing down to Mexico but I've been told and cautioned that kidnappings occur and random killings I was very scared if I went but I would love to go to experience Mexico but it seems in this day and age is not going to happen if anyone could give me some advice I would appreciate it

    I've been to Morelia, Michoacan. it's a very beautiful town and a lot of hard working, smart and honest people come from here. yes....it's fucking crazy sometimes over there but for the most part the people are beautiful
