Thank you so much Vikki, I really really enjoyed watching you creating these amazing and gorgeous prints. Fabulous and fantastic too. I really really love ❤️ them all. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Vikki! I purchased your dragonfly stencil/mask and tried it out yesterday. The results were, um, laughable, so thank you so very much for this tutorial! Now, I think I can do your stencils justice!
Hi! Well we can't have you struggling with the dragonfly stencil/mask! Leave me a comment here if you still aren't getting results you love and since I have your email from the purchase, we can schedule a 15 minute Zoom consult to get you squared away!
@@VikkiReed My Goodness Vikki, I had no idea! Just Wow! I stumbled across your channel for gel printing inspiration and today I was like... Hey I think that's one of my designs.... right before you said it. LOL thanks again and happy holidays from one kindred spirit to another.
I’ve seen some artists get good results with the craft paint, but I am seriously spoiled by using Golden Fluid Acrylics! They keep going up in price, but it’s still worth it to me. Keep experimenting, you never know when you’re going to make magic!
Hi Vikki, I really love this tutorial with the Dragon Flies, leaves and spirals, especially the very last print! Such outstanding results. Thank you 💯💫
Thanks COWGIRL JANE! Coincidentally, I just watched a movie on TCM with Doris Day, "Calamity Jane" and I lOVED it! I absolutely love color as well and getting to play with it and share is a great privilege and pleasure.
Mary, thank you! It gets easier to be brave when you are playing and don't need a successful result every time, I hope you will play, experiment and take some chances!
Vicki, if you would be willing to share….I would like to now where you got the honeycomb trivet. Was it originally in the odd shape? Thank you in advance for giving me some clues.
Molly, of course! I got it at the Dollar Store as well, I cut it down because I wanted to avoid the straight lines around it, (it was square)...I just googled silicone trivet and found a LOT of options, including some little mandala shapes! I'll have to acquire those and play with them as well! Thank you for your question!

i wanted to share 3 things Amazon has a version of your lipstick holder under 5 bucks, works great,,, i use yupo for cutting stencils, i throw them in soapy water after use i have left them for days before washing. they come clean and last indefinitely. third tip i found a child's printing set on amazon with 4 cool shapes--called 'ready to learn triangular shapes'- under 10 bucks. just right for imprinting small shapes, flower and spiral. love your work
Judy, thank you! This is so great, thank you for sharing, I'm going to add the items you discovered to my Amazon Supply list! I've tried the yupo but never left them soaking, that is an amazing tip! You are a blessing and a gift to the creative community!

April, I use them in my mixed media paintings for collage and for greeting cards. You don't really drop a lot of paint when you are doing the backgrounds yet it spreads easily with good coverage. Is it the golden fluid acrylics that give that smooth look?
Yes! Good catch…the Golden Fluid Acrylics are superior in my opinion, more pigment to filler/carrier. Using less paint is preferable as more paint can often end with a squishy/smoodgy result…technical terms lol
Hi Lucy, thank you for your question! In this project I used the Tyvek as a stencil or mask...but you are right to ask, because after the Tyvek has been covered in paint, it makes a great addition for your collage pieces!
So, when I grow up I want my gel prints to look like yours! But... In the meantime I have a question. So I am getting these weird halos around my stencil designs on my gel prints. What is causing them? My stencils are made with stencil plastic and they are quite slick so I don't know if that's the problem. Any comments appreciated.
Dancing Tumbleweed, thank you! Yes...I know what you are referring to and your stencils might be part of the problem. I've been experimenting with some new stencils/materials, and find that if it is too slick (like acetate sheets) or too thick, I get the "halo"...also if I have used a too "squishy" (pro term) application of paint. My suggestion is to get some Tyvek, cut it into some fun simple shapes, (like hearts maybe!) and experiment with that to see if it makes the difference for you! Yupo paper is another great option if you can't obtain any Tyvek
Sonia, I wish I understood how to do that! I think UA-cam might automatically text and if we are lucky, it is in your language! I'm sorry for any frustration or inconvenience!
Those last two are amazing. Just starting to watch Gelli plate printing videos. Neat stuff, thank you !
