Factions in general were one of the biggest misses. American made, American Alpha, LWO, PFC, Damage Control, Wyatt Six, and to an extent the Judgment Day. Outside of the Bloodline none of these groups felt elevated or threats in 2024. JD had tag and a women's title they did little with. Seemed like WWE acknowledging we have a lot of talent and need to do something with them, but these groups really have done nothing. I am hopeful going to 3 hour shows will help.
the thing about this year's men's money in the bank is that it didn't really matter because wwe was already planning on cody & gunther both having long title reigns with their championship belts also i think that because damien priest had held the money in the bank from last year 2023 for almost 300 days the feeling was probably nobody would want to see another long term money in the bank holder on the men's side instead let someone like a tiffany stratton on the women's side have that storyline. also as far as priest they probably wanted to still capitalize on his money in the bank win from 2023
Fair point BUT it still could have been used for some much bigger and fun moments than it was used for. Wwe kinda just threw it away this year instead of even seeing if a guy like Jey or LA could get to that level eventually. Trust your talent is the side on lean on in this. But totally get what you’re saying
@@codwrestlepod oh yeah i definitely agree with that 100%. because it's kinda like i get it why it was done the way it was done to add more heat to the drew/punk feud & to create the storyline beat to punk/seth by planting more of those seeds but it also came at expense of elevating someone like a jey or even gable in the main event scene especially at that time
My biggest misses in WWE 2024: - Not giving Jey vs Jimmy the street fight match at WM40. They could've called it, The City of Brotherly Love Street Fight - Cody Rhodes's title reign, as you mentioned. I will say his feud with Solo made sense from what Solo was doing and what it all led towards: OG vs. New Bloodline stuff and KO heel turn. - MITB briefcase holders in general. It seems WWE doesn't know how to book them, and using the men's as a plot device was terrible. Despite how good the feud was between Punk and Drew. - RAW tag team division - Chad Gable, simple as - Finn Balor not winning the first match with Damian Priest, as him losing diminished everything that happened at Summerslam. - Rhea Ripley being female Hulk Hogan - The main event scene all around for both men and women. It feels lame and it doesn't feel like anything is progressing aka super stagnant. - Zelina Vega, she proved herself well in the LIv Morgan feud but WWE just brought her back to being a manager for LWO. Which LWO, imo, needs to end. - WWE not resigning Dijak after he was called up from NXT. Dijak was so good and produced banger match ups on NXT, but just didn't show him on TV nor did they resign him. Will add since it was mentioned in the video about title reigns. This is my predictions for 2025: - Cody Rhodes will lose the WWE Championship @ one of the big 3 PLEs (Rumble, Mania 41, and Summerslam) - Gunther will lose the title to CM Punk. - Dominik Mysterio will win single's gold on the main roster. - Chad Gable will move to Smackdown and will win the US Championship. - Jey Uso will win the World title or Undisputed title in 2025. - Jimmy Uso will get a single's push and we will see him challenge for a mid-card title. - Drew McIntyre will win a World Title in 2025 & Will finally pin Roman Reigns - Roman Reigns will win the 2025 Royal Rumble and will renact the 2015 Royal Rumble win with the Rock, but this time will be betrayed by the Rock to which he will take the Ula Fala.
The only thing I’ll disagree with is Dijak, he’s good but he was leaking backstage stuff to people and you know WWE hates that. I love your list though!
I will always defend the Drew MITB decision. The MITB briefcase should only be for someone you see as a future world champion. At the time of MITB, LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Chad Gable had never held a singles mid-card belt within WWE. Jumping them up to a world title would be a big leap. Also, Cody & Gunther were always the long term plan for the world titles. I'd assume both hold their titles until WrestleMania 41, and if they lose it in the short term (Randy beating Cody for example) they likely win it back relatively quickly. It made sense to burn the briefcase on Drew this year.
Oof to each is own, but Drew holding the MITB briefcase for one night just to further the punk story felt like a middle finger to the rest of the guys in the match. Yes, none had even held midcard titles but that felt like wwe saying “ya we’d rather just throw this thing away then give any of you even a chance”
@@codwrestlepod That's probably what WWE was thinking. It's also an inherent problem with MITB to begin with. WWE under Triple H is committed to long term story-telling, which is great, but MITB cash-in's that don't tie into a story that you're already telling, don't make a lot of sense.
I agree with pfc not only the stupid name it’s just a waste of 3 talents they may aswell just be on the shelf the way they’re being wasted makes me think they may be released in 2025. Also Jimmy jey wm40 match was a major let down I think they’re both good wrestlers but it kinda showed that they only have a small amount of moves in the inventory it was all just the same moves with a predictable ending
@codwrestlepod definitely agree with you they all need single feuds even if a betrayal happens and they all go against each other they just need to show that they have the skills capable to be a talent
I can’t even get mad at the uso mad because they got their time cut by a lot day of the match they didn’t want the match to be good I feel like if they let them know prior to day of the match would have been better
@ oh I agree with you the match was not great I think the miss would be telling them the time change so late in the game. But you’re 1000% correct not a great match
I completely disagree about the Cody part. You feel this way because Dwayne came out the Monday after Mania so everything felt like filler because it needed to be addressed
Will is on vacation in Germany haha, so we had to pre record a bunch of good stuff before he left. When he’s back, we will discuss on how we can expand to stuff like nxt and aew!
We are discussing doing those when the new year starts! We’d like to do more content for you. Trying our best to figure out a way with our jobs and everything!

I hope they will and think they will. It was the year of the faction for sure which only had a few featured like you mentioned!

PFC has just been such a letdown. 3 talents that could all explode given the correct storylines, yet they’re all drowning together on a useless team

Idk i feel like money in the bank shouldnt be yearly. Like I enjoyed not having one for months on end. Seth ruined it for me.
@@latrell3169 that’s a fair point. We just feel like it was put into a feud that didn’t need it. How often would you have the money in the bank?
Oh absolutely it was wasted on Drew. Maybe every other year. But the mitb is a crutch in wwe. @codwrestlepod

Has nothing to do with Dwayne
