I interpret it as being influenced by what AIC was influenced by versus being influenced by AIC themselves. It's just a style, a sound...lots of rock bands reach for this sound, but not many really achieve it. Pretty cool...I don't get copycat at all. Nice.
This is one of the best records from the last couple of years, and has been in my regular rotation since it was released. Really excited for the next album

This is actually really good, I'm not a huge stoner metal guy but this is right up my alley
I've said this before, but grunge did not die, it evolved into doom and stoner. I love how your nod to Alice in Chains was anything but subtle. It lets The Listener know right away to expect a lot of Alice in Chains influence. What follows is very impressive because it is often difficult for bands to let their influences be well known in their music without sounding straight out copycats. And I am hearing more than just AIC in this. That second track tells me that a collaboration between Alice in Chains and Korn would have been amazing. I don't know much about y'all, where you're from, how old you are, how long you've been around, Etc but I will find out more when I get home from work tonight. I usually listen to a lot of Stoner and doom while I run my garbage route, and I usually just let the albums play at a stop, but this album has me pausing at every stop and looking forward to the spots in the route where I have a decent long drive between stops.

Holy cow. It's been a few decades since I lived in the Netherlands, and as a result I'm obviously a tad out of touch. Seattle on the North Sea delivers, though. Grunge with more fuzz than a labrador. Type O Negative on acid. Clan of Xymox by way of Candlemass. Some echoes of The Bevis Frond.
