Thanks a MILLION i just bought my wife a spa here in canada and i was looking at that same kit from canadian tire and didnt know if i should get that one and then the chance of me hoping in the good ole Tube and seeing you with the same kit it really helped
Just watched all your spa videos. Setting mine up tomorrow. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. The videos are very concise . . . just what I needed.
Thank you so much! Your video was very helpful. Quick question though, how often do I have to put the other two chemicals? I’m talking about the Stain Prevent and the Clear It for the PH.
I hardly ever have to use them, but I but in about 1 cap full each about every 2 weeks and the water stays crystal clear. Our water is city water, so not hard mineraly water.
Thank you for these guides! The manufacturer should link to your channel on the box 😂. I’m a couple days in and getting an E02 flow error when the filter is attached. I’ve cleaned the filter again and again and again, and shortly after being connected the error comes back when the filter is installed. Runs just fine with filter detached. Going to test a replacement filter coming in tomorrow but what do you think, am I missing anything? Also, is it safe to run for a couple days unfiltered?
You have a bag of what looks like shock it (1:44) where you show the chemicals in the spa kit… what do you use that for? Do I need to buy this as well?
Thank you! What is the little grey pressure value thing above the filter and chem port. Can that top grey pressure valve be covered with water? Thanks!
Great informative video for a very novice spa owner. Would Luke to know if you keep your spa running all the time? Notice you said you keep it around 104°
We keep it going 24-7 but if it is not being used for an extended time I'll drop the temp to 100, then will put it back to 104 a few hours before we use it.
I would say it would be struggling to keep up in our are (gets down to below -20), in you area if it stays around the freezing mark in winter it would be fine
I love how short and concise your videos are. This video helped me get back on track with clear and beautiful water. How often to you replace your spa filter with a new one?
Yeahhh, I've had mine for about 2 years now. We haven't used it much and we did take it down for both winters. However, this winter I decided to move it into my insulated garage. The garage is not heated, but it is warmer than it will be outside. I figured this way we can use it year round and not have to worry about the weather elements causing any damage. But, how did you clean your filters? I'm not sure that mine have ever been cleaned, but before I filled the tub inside my garage, I did look at both filters. They were lightly layered with in guessing alge because they have a green tint to them. I did try to clean them with a hose using regular hose pressure. Nothing really happened. I then hit them with a pressure washer and all that did was start to tear the actual "cloth?" Inside the filter. It didn't clean it, really at all. It just started to tear it. So, howww would you recommend I clean them? Or would it just be easier to buy new ones? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I did see a 2 pack of filters on Amazon for like 4.66$ and 6 packs from 14.60, 18.81, and up to 32-33$ for a pack of 16. But, I feel like mine can be cleaned somehow and last another 2 years... idk, what would you recommend?
First thanks for the setup video, much easier with your instructions! How do you manage the filter schedule? I am planning to take advantage of ultra low energy plan (due to me EV) and heating from 11pm to 7am everyday, but not sure about the filter. I mean, when I turn on heat, it turns on filter with it, so not sure if it needs more than 8 hours daily.

I have the same hot tub and chemicals kit. When my bromine was low I added another tablet but can’t seem to close it if I add more than one? Also now have lots of white bits floating on the water, what can I do, please help 😢
Nice Job - I have the exact same Spa and took my first dip this morning. It is more comfortable than the last hard shell one I had that I paid 10X as much. I too have heard not to mix Bromine and Chlorine together, but if it’s working for you. I live in WI and put mine in the Basement for Winter.
Just make sure to keep an eye on the PH level, the amount I add is fairly low and we check the levels daily. They're great hot tubs especially for the price we paid!!
I leave it on all the time, if we are not using it for a few days I will drop the temp to 100. The pump need to be left on to maintain the temp (for the water to run through the heating part of the pump)
How often do you shock it? I imagine this would depend on use/frequency? When you say you clean the filter every day or every other day, how often are you using the hot tub? And if you used the spa less frequently than you did in this video, how often to clean filter, and the shock question from above for less frequent use than you do.? And do you prefer non-chlorine shock or reg? I imagine you recommend spa shock vs pool shock for your spa as well?
@@PovertyPointCustomsthank you 😅I realised it after realizing it connected to the outside drain and confirmed it watching your wintering video. Thanks for everything you! Such a great help!!
Another question! My spa has a little dirt on the bottom. Do you ever need to vacuum yours? I saw a small pool vacuum for $75. I guess when it's windy the dirt gets in, I live on a farm.

I still have a lot of foam in the hot tub after add ed 10 ml of anti foam solution that comes in Aquarius spa kit ? Any recommendation? Other questions on the strip test which level is accepting as normal or no need to add nothing. Thanks for your answer
I have the exact same Aquarius spa kit and my levels are ppm hardness are low and I don’t know how to fix it!!! The ph is too high and the alkalinity is too high. Please help!!! Do I need to buy shock it to even the levels out???
You need to go get a ph - which will control the alkalinity as well. I use this kit to maintain the water but not to adjust my ph and alk. I went back to canadian tire and got the spa-cal (that was to raise the water hardeness) I went and got the Alk which helps control ph fluctuating and the alkalinity. Along with spa boost for ph. Then the negative versions of those. I had a nightmare setting up my tub myself because I tried to follow this video and the items I this kit aren't actually for raising ph and alk etc. They're for decreasing foam and cloudy water.
Apparently less than minimal water hardness causes foaming and increased corrosion of the metal parts in the pump. You can buy calcium chloride to increase the water hardness. There's a product in the Aquarius kit called Foamaway but they don't say what the active ingredient is so I guess I'll buy some calcium chloride. You would think that manufacturers would be required to put a list of ingredients on the bottle in case a child ingested it.
I haven’t used my hot tub since last year and it had green slimy stuff in it. How do I clean it with out draining the water? You make everything look so simple and easy. Thanks
It would be great , but I'd be worried about others being around it with sharp objects and puncturing it. It it is definitely reliable and works great, but that would be my main concern.
Thank you for this! Have you ever had slippery sides and floor in yours? We have had ours for a month and just noticed it and not sure if we should drain or if there’s something else we can do! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Is it normal to need to crush the tablets to get them to fit? I bought 1 inch bromine tablets made by Clorox and it’s impossible to close the cover without smashing them first
9/17/23 9pm edt. I’m in the process off setting up. Water temp began at 61f. It has been heating for 3 hours and temp is now 72f. Seems like a long time. Is this normal. Thanks.
Hi, my first time with this hot tub. My question is, when I add the bromine tables and open the little vent, do I keep them open? Or do I shut them when we're going in?
I never liked bromine. It dissolve too fast in a floater and was way too strong. I always used chlorine granules with a teaspoon and i liked to keep it to where it was barely purple on the test strip
Well worth the price but get the cover that I show in another video that covers the hot tub completely, the sun on the hot tub is what destroys them. Definitely recommend it though especially for the price.
We use bromine in ours but you can use liquid chlorine in it, just make sure not to over chlorinat the hot tub, to much will be hard on the material of the hot tub.
Do you have to eventually replace the hottube filter. And if yes when. Also should I buy a floating scrubber to pickup and debrie that falls on surface of the water. Also both my ph and alkaline is high. What do I use in that kit to bring it down
Very informative, thank you. Interested in this spa. How often does the filter need to be cleaned, every day or every three days? Do you need to clean it if you don't go in the spa?
Watched all your hot tub videos. Excellent tutorial. I bought the same kit at Canadian Tire. Where do you buy replacement filters? I set ours up at our cottage.
I have the same spa kit as you used and I've only had my spa up and running for 3 days. First two days it seemed okay but tonight it had a brown sludge in the water like a ring around the tub. I've used the spa strips several times but my colors always seem the same...low. Not sure what else to do.
Hey! I’m using this spa kit too and I noticed that on the instructions for stain prevent, it says to add this while filling the hot tub, and let it circulate for half a day before adding the sanitizers. Using the sanitizers too soon after the stain prevent treatment will cause the water to turn brown. This happened to me as well, and I had to drain my tub and start again. I’m hoping now that I’ve waited half a day that I’ll have success in adding the chemicals. Also make sure the water is at about 80 degrees F before adding anything because the warmer temperature will help dissolve the chemicals better as well.
LMAO love ur comment section! 😹 This is super helpful. All ur videos on this are super helpful. I feel like cleaning the filter and checking levels every day or couple days is kind of a lot of maintenance. I'm in WA state and it rains a lot here so I've been debating on if I should get one or not. Also debating on the 71" vs the 77". 😳
Thank you! I am really happy with mine, this size is great for 2 or three adults. Only regret is I didn't get one sooner, you will love it if you get one!
It takes about 5 mins of your time each day to artend to a full size pool and it wont get away from you....if you think that is "too much work" then yes you shouldnt own a pool/hottub its rly not hard, but it is for some i guess
My test strips say Cyanuric acid is low, water hardness is low and ph is low. The cyanuric acid does that come in all Ph stabilizers? Was look at the Aquarius single products just unsure of what to fix that acid one lol??
Thank you for the videos they are very helpful..We purchased the Saluspa and we love it!! How long should you wait before getting into tub after applying chemicals? Is the spa kit and sock it everything you need to keep it clean and clear?
I usually give it a few hours, and that's all we need to keep it clean, I would definitely clean the filter every day or 2, just rinse it with the hose. We love the hot tub also!!
Your videos are better than the ones from the manufacturer. Best video out there, both installing the spa and using chemicals. Thanks very much.

I would for about 30 min after you add them, will help cut down on the "chemical" smell a bit

Not at all, just put the proper chemicals in and you will be fine.

Do you have to eventually replace the hottube filter. And if yes when. Also should I buy a floating scrubber to pickup and debrie that falls on surface of the water. Also both my ph and alkaline is high. What do I use in that kit to bring it down
I would say you should get several months out of it, we clean ours ever day or 2.
Great video! Does anyone have the link to the Aquarius kit?

My chemconnect container didnt seem to distribute any bromine for me, I ended up moving it over to the floating style.
I actually added a floating one also partway through the season
What numbers are the Levels supposed to be?
Very informative, thank you. Interested in this spa. How often does the filter need to be cleaned, every day or every three days? Do you need to clean it if you don't go in the spa?
I usually clean it ever 2 days if we are not using (could probably be done a bit less), and if it's used alot then every day (only takes a minute)
@@PovertyPointCustoms Does it get very dirty every two days if you aren't using it? Seems like an awful lot of work if the tub isn't being used.
Watched all your hot tub videos. Excellent tutorial. I bought the same kit at Canadian Tire. Where do you buy replacement filters? I set ours up at our cottage.
I saw the replacement filters in Canadian Tire in Kamloops.
It takes about 5 mins of your time each day to artend to a full size pool and it wont get away from you....if you think that is "too much work" then yes you shouldnt own a pool/hottub
its rly not hard, but it is for some i guess
I have another question.. what could cause a chemical burn to the skin? Too much chlorine or maybe the PH balance bring off ?
@@pamsanders8547 too much chemical such as chlorine/bromine. i cant even touch the bromine tabs barehanded. ouch.
Really should use cartridge cleaner for your filter they will get more clean and last longer
Great tip, I will look into that
Great video one question how long does chemicals take before u go in?
Wait a minimum of 30 min before going in after added chemicals
Have a link the that spa kit
I purchased it from the Canadian Tire store
@@PovertyPointCustoms ahhhh. Well then I don’t think I’ll get it. Lol. Thank You.
Thanks so much for your videos!
Thanks!!
