It was 1995, straight to the mall arcade games complex, after back to the school 🤣 I've spend a year to master with, especially in Lancia Delta, and finished all stages include the extra stage. It was BIM in the 1-3 ranks. 😝 Love this sega rally, miss it. Lovely.
The z-fighting bugs are related to emulation and are not seen on real hardware; Sega's Model 2 and Model 3 hardware handled lots of advanced features that performed brand-new groundbreaking techniques like textured polygons, texture transparency, and z-sorting, but how exactly Sega achieved and implemented them was poorly documented in order to protect these innovations from competitors. While the Nebula Model 2 emulator is no longer in development, the Supermodel Model 3 emulator is still actively being worked on and contributors are still working to pick apart how Sega made these unique techniques work in hardware!
Wow didn't even know there was a Model 2 emulator in existence till now. Got a dumb question though. Would it be possible to get a port of this working on the OG Xbox. Seeing as CPS3 emulation is fine surely Model 2 emulation wouldn't be too much of a stretch right?
The "maybe" calls are used when a gentle corner gets sharper or narrower towards the end, I think one of the best examples is the last corner on the Desert track where you have to watch your speed so you don't go wide at the end of the corner where it's sharpest!
The same rom is actually used for all regions; instead, the region each cabinet belonged to was set at the factory in software and is shown in the operator's test menu. If you clear the game's memory the region setting will default to Japan, but this can be changed after entering a password that unlocks the region selector.
Sega used this same strategy for a lot of other games from this era and later as well, even if it meant more memory use just to store two languages' worth of text and data; they even used it for Daytona USA 2 where the cabinet's region setting would also select if the cabinet would play the same english lyrics sung by either the game's native Japanese composer or an English vocalist!

I don't think it's possible to finish in 8th place, the game doesn't seem to display more than 6 cars for you to pass on each stage, making it impossible to finish in a better position than 9th

Some small graphic glitches here and there, it's a shame this emulator is not worked on anymore (I think).
Goblan this emulator works fine on pentium4,the supermodel 3 which is very hard to operate, on my pc it runs very well (intel i5 6200u)
