Du made Guile look like a chain combo character instead of a charge character. Some of the most stylish Street Fighter I've ever seen! Well earned and deserved!
Du is american and played with Guile, Tokido is JPN and played with Ryu. Wow. It syncs up.

@@randymarsh3721 ryun is solid he just is so often seen no one is surprised by what he does. They rarely give him never skills so if you fight one Ryu in SF4 you know Ryu in 5.

Pretty damn hard to find a way to break this guiles sonic booms sequences with a character like Ryu, Guile seems to have the perfect tools to defeat any Ryu's moves

I'm not the biggest fan of SFV, but now I regret not watching this when I had the chance.Man, Nuckledu has leveled up so hard from 4. It's obvious in his play. He's just gotten so much better at playing every range to his advantage instead of trying to force play at a specific range. And the way he'll play an entire round, game or even set without using an option and then just suddenly busting it out is insane. So happy to see him take this. I want him to win CapCup now.
you should really get back into it. SFV has gotten a lot better as players get used to it, there's a ton more tactical play. check out the canada cup top 16 from a week or two ago, it was nuts and super good with some really great unorthodox play, plus juri!

whats so amazing about that comeback is that du had the awareness to save a sliver of vtrigger so he could throw out a super slow sonic boom for the setup after the throw!
This is definitely in the top five sickest matches of the year for me. Amazing play by Du!

i think there was a known broken mechanic where guile can try and make a throw and flash kick after without delay or recovery..... but obviously there was no such abuse here

Since the 1st trailer and first try Tokido, Daigo and mago praise Guile.
These two have been my favorite players to follow this year - Tokido the whole way through, and Du in particular after EVO. Never thought I'd get to see them face off in a grand finals and this was epic.

Guile is my main, I've played SF back in the days and I am just getting into SFV. It was a real pleasure to watch this match, and it was awesome to see how much his family supported him. Great show!

NuckleDu's composure was amazing. He never allowed Tokido to feel comfortable within any specific spacing.
He's undoubtedly the best in America right now and I am rooting for him to shake things up in the Capcom Cup.
He took out one of the most respected players in the sport last night.
Man, I thought Du was dune after Tokido smashed him 3-1 first round. I still don't know what he did differently here, but it was amazing.

Duuuuu! I'm so proud to be a fan. It was an emotional victory forsure, he should've let the tears flow though man crowd had nothing but love and you can see how happy alucarD and Flash were for him as well as others in the crowd no doubt. excited as heck for CPT this year. Also we all know Tokido is gonna smash through akuma once he gets out next season but it's Du's time for now.
So proud of Nuckledu. Especially because I know how hard living with depression/suicidal thoughts can be. I hope his success continues!

Why Tokido did not go with fireball war? He was eating almost every sonic boom and was jumping way too much.

Czesnek it's a little more complicated than that. Guiles recovery time from sonic boom is way faster than ryu. Looks like guile is the new fireball king lol. Ryu doesn't really have mid range like other characters. He has to get in pretty close. Guile is a good counter for Ryu/ken players. Besides the flash kick he has some good anti air attacks and they have a lot of priority and they are fast to execute. And du seems to have perfected it.
Fireball war against this version Guile? Nobody in this game can "out-zone" Guile, at least I don't think. I used to try the fireball war against Guiles and it never works. He's going to toss so many booms and then he has the sonic scythe, which can absorb 2 hits, I believe EX Sonic Scythe can absorb 3 hits and it's fast af, not to mention EX Sonic Boom cuts the air like a razor and is fast af.
He did the best he could, that's the spacing that I play against Guiles and it's my most "successful" area, but good God, proficient Guiles are really, really difficult to beat...at least for my scrub ass.

The 2nd game after the reset, that comeback was just insane by Du.
Glad I got to hear Du talk, he was coming off a bit smug in an interview I read, but he seems really cool and down to earth. I always root for Tokido and Rog, but to be honest most of these top guys seem like genuinely good guys.

Guile have a insane amount of fireball tricks and is new that give him a huge advantage, just like Karin was the boss with her fast combos but now she is well know and is rare the top player using her.
