Indraganti's wisdom drops were like a cinematic and literary feast for the soul! Now, I'm sitting here, buzzing with excitement to dive into the stuff he recommended.
Rarely does an episode gets 95% positive comments for a podcast. Kudos guys 🤝 మోహన్ కృష్ణ గారి లాగా తెలుగుని తెలుగులా English ని English లా మాట్లాడగలిగే సినిమావాళ్లు అరుదే. You guys should please put up all the movies, people and books Mohan has mentioned in the video description.
Learnt a lot of things from him during the course of this podcast. His way of explaining concepts which turn out to be powerful tools for story tellers is commendable to say the least. Well done Permit Room! Will definitely keep coming back to this podcast again and again to soak up and ruminate upon his knowledge and clarity of thought.
Amidst the whole discussion on Animal. This podcast is a slap to everyone defending it saying ‘it is work of fiction, view it that way’ Must say your best podcast so far, hoping to see people like Chandrasekhar Yeleti or Sekhar Kammula
Thank you, Hriday, for asking the much needed question. "What is indeed screenplay?" and not what the layman or reviewers perceive to be screenplay. And giving the guest time to explain. And Mohan, I haven't heard either the content or the intent to explain by anyone else.
1:16:35 The whole portion of cinema influencing us should be a separate clip with captions and shared with everybody. He beautifully said it on how it impacts us especially in India. Some movies that were released recently where the director claims that cinema doesn't influence people must watch this. Just because the movie collected crores, doesn't make it a great film. It only means that the audience feels encouraged to see violence/vulgarity being displayed. But unfortunately, if you go and tell this to their fans, they'll be triggered. :)
I am a woman who has no problem watching vulgarity and especially violence if done well . This shitty virtue signaling that somehow the so called elites fear how average audience will lose their paths seems very patronizing to me . Like we folks cannot handle it and cinema is for elites like indraganti and us peasants should be content watching movies on gandhigiri.
After completing the interview i felt like omg i was in film school for 2 hours. It's so informative we want this kind of talks thank you permit room for bringing this out, we owe you for this ❤
Any interview with indraganti is full of virtue signaling. This guy name drops the very directors who he takes jibes at . All this would have been good if this dude was. Great filmmaker let alone hit filmmaker . But he is neither. His movie “V” is purely bad movie . Atleast Boyapati cringe is laughable. Navvukovachu Kani indraganti movies navvukovataniki kooda panikiravu. pathetic ! This interview is thinly veiled bitterness of being unsuccessful and flop filmmaker.
Dude, what a podcast! Im still in awe of the wisdom Indraganti gaaru has poured. This isn’t just a podcast for your past time, this is a 2 hr Philosophy that steers you on how to be a responsible filmmaker and forces audiences to think the junk they are consuming in the name of mass cinema. Hriday, I urge you to bring more educated film makers. If possible please try to arrange a symposium and make them discuss the influence of cinema on society. I’m with you man!, lets bring positivity and strive to bring the people out of Ignorance-well.
thank you for this masterclass. This laidback style of interviewing is relaxing and educative as well (especially for aspiring filmmakers like me.) Waiting for Tharun Bhascker!
Big fan of Mohan Krishna Indraganti sir delight to watch his interview. I felt could have also explored more on his music taste we could have got to know of old Telugu songs.
Bruh, I was taken aback by how this podcast went, lot of take-aways and insights. Nothing short of a masterclass about a lot of things. I can only imagine how you guys must've felt, I could see the awe and wonder on your faces. I appreciate you guys for letting him speak and for asking the right questions. Keep it up Hriday and Santosh!!
Sir rape meeda joke villain a kaadu, hero heroine kuda chestaru..in ismart shankar, and Puri jagannath is god of the so called masses and many upcoming filmmakers 😃 So glad you mentioned 'What's eating Gilbert grape'
Summed up perfectly. Educational institutions are to be blamed for this. Institutions like free chaitanya and parayana sucked the life out of youth of AP and TG making them directionless robots who are just capable of following orders instead of having a real personality. Hope future generations realize their true worth and stay away as far as possible from these institutions
This interview made me feel you are interviewing one of the greatest filmmaker of all times … but that’s the hubris of indraganti . He can only talk , a shoddy filmmaker and good reviewer .
@@nagarjunayt wow , that’s exactly what I said . He is reviewing not just films but even filmmakers . He is glibly saying he is above all of them. This has been his pattern since a long time . He is full of hubris .
@@152kiran He's not glorifying what he made. He's just saying that certain things are problematic for me and I cannot make such things. He spoke about certain things/practices from his movies only when the interviewer presented those as observations/questions. I am not saying that he's a great filmmaker, but he has his heart in the right place. He wants Telugu cinema to be on par with any other cinema industry if not above. He is a part of it and he can rightfully criticize either through the medium of cinema or otherwise. He spoke about some really good and young filmmakers from Telugu whose work should be watched. He even acknowledged that they're making better use of their opportunities than people like him or his contemporaries. How's that hubris!
Thanks for bringing Indraganti garu. Fortunate to have him share his mind and thoughts, there is a lot of clarity in his stances that he explained very well. It is not just an opinion one is entitled to have, but a sensible opinion that is grounded in morals. Thought provoking, sir. This is what literature and reading does to one, opens up one's mind and their sensibilities.
A load of circumlocution rather than getting straight to the point. The guest could have explained things related to cinema and its intricacies succintly.
It is wider audience, it is wider reach/appeal/acceptance. That's all. You can just say I show values, I show art. If you want people to reach to your way of thinking or see how you see the cinema, go for it, make it and then watch it for yourself for N number of times that you would like. Cinema means entertainment, entertainment, entertainment. Is it going to have impact on the viewers, 100% yes but it is one's conscience that should come into play in deciding whether they let a media that represents entertainment have impact on them. You cannot say, I will just tell story, no mass elements, full of values it just does not work out for me at least.
Though I like and agree with most of the podcast, I slightly disagree with one point. Movies definitely influence people but they can only make us change our behaviour, the impact might be temporary or permanent depending on the person; however, a person's character cannot be changed by a movie. Only if the person has it within them, the movie might provoke any negative thoughts within them but cannot create it. And a movie we watch mostly lasts with us only for a week, till we watch a new movie the next Friday.
I like Indraganti garu a lot more outside than in his movies. I'm a little taken aback by the fact that he wasn't able to explain what screenplay is in simple 1-2 statements. He gave a whole discourse which I'm sure confused more people than clarified. Sorry.

Why does this gem got only 35k 😮, I am baffled, this is simply put at best when sensible, sensitive talk about education, culture and their ability to make deep impact in everyday lives through cinema ❤, one of the best podcast I have started my new year with..😊
You should have asked him about the 4 major categories you ask the other guests, like the financial awareness, mental well-being etc. It would have been nice to know his take on things other than movies.
Brothers a small suggestion when the guest mentions a book or Movie or anything important better try to show a pic at that point so it will be easier for us to identify that and search for it.
What a brilliant Man, What a brilliant Podcast !! We need more directors, writers like him. Notice how he is not at all insecure about the references for sammohanam, chillar fellow like Venkatesh maha need to learn from Gurus like Indraganti garu. There is nothing wrong to agree and announce where you have adapted a scene or a film from. It only makes you more humble and acceptable.

I wish there were more people discussing cinema rather than just talk about it.
