Im so glad I watch your channel, becuase it sets itself apart from others. How? ............ ........... ........... ............ .......... Gay girls, innit.
Man Gigguk's literature teachers throughout his student years must've been reading fire after fire whenever they tell him to make an essay. Everything in this list is amazingly descriptive of what it is and the emotions you'll feel when viewing it, to the point that it feels like I've already watched the anime despite not even seeing a single episode about it. A true blessing to the anime community indeed.
While I understand your point, I personally doubt garnt was a naturally born a great writer. He just found something he was passionate enough about to dedicate his life to becoming as great a writer possible for it. I believe anyone can and possibly should be a writer, no matter your background and in any form or field, because EVERYONE has a story worth sharing.
Holy shit. What I took from this besides Gigguk's amazing ability to condense a years worth of top quality anime into a 30 min video is that his meme magic with football is top tier.
The entire Made In Abyss section culminating in 27:28 is some damn fine piece of writing, presentation and editing. Serious kudos, you gave me real chills :')
tbh i didnt really enjoy this season as much as the previous one. Just a lot of weird plotholes and stuff that kept distracting me, like that prophet guy who ended up just being a Chehkov's gun and not actually doing anything at all...
@@Beast--- I'm with Gigguk. It's the best anime of this year no doubt, definitely worth it. But I have to warn you that the story is getting darker as you progress so keep that in mind.
@@Beast--- It is a truly unique adventure show, filled with the spirit of awe, discovery, longing. The Abyss itself works by bizarre rules, and yet it feels like a real place. In fact, the show is grounded in realism and is not for the faint of heart. There are depictions of immense suffering, physical and emotional. Be warned and tread with care.
Why did Disney delay it for so many months, releasing it one country at a time over half a year. Finally in January 2023 people in the USA can watch it.
This comment is probably gonna get lost in the soup, but whatever; I was lucky enough to contribute a tiny bit towards this season of Made in Abyss, and the love the show is getting is incredible. I was a fan of season 1 when it came out, and being able to have worked on season 2 was a huge point of personal pride, and seeing everyone loving it is equally incredible. I only put a little bit of work into the show but it makes me insanely proud to see where it is and how it's moving people. Anime of the year hands down, great work Gigguk.
@@Churee Oh for sure! I played Ukulele on "Gravity"! I didn't know where the tune was gonna be used so the fact that it bookends the series was a total shock. Almost cried during the finale for that reason alone hahaha
My only problem with this videos and with gigguk being an absolutely unparallelled hype machine is that they make me realize how much I'm missing out and how little time I have to watch all this stuff.
Same here. I've become an adult that just doesn't have time to watch anime as I used to. The 9-5 grind and all. Makes me kinda sad, but it also means I'm a lot more selective. I can't watch everything, so what I watch has to be good
The transition in mob psycho review to made in abyss review literally sent my spine on chills. Made in abyss is definitely one of the GOAT shows out there.
I rarely comment on videos but had to for this. I had the exact thing happen to me! I only watched the first season so far so I never even heard that ost before but tears immediately flooded my face after that piano sequence. I'm honestly at a loss for words right now
Thank you so much for giving Made in abyss the respect it deserve. This anime is the only anime that broke my spectrum of emotion. I walked into the anime with the notion "oh, this is just another anime portraying adulthood life stage through children-like characters" I was right but yet so wrong. To all you newcomers to this anime, don't be scared!!!
breaking the spectrum of emotion is a really good way of putting it. i havent been able to find an even decent way of explaining how it made me feel, but that does a pretty good job at explaining it. god damn Made in Abyss is a fuckin masterpiece.
Made in abyss season 2 is really one of those pieces of fiction that makes you feel emotions you can't express with words and at the end of the journey you can't really express what you felt about it. One is only grateful for watching such an incredible story
Giving Made in Abyss the #1 slot is big wow. It hit so damn hard. It was so good and ya, so much more than I expected in unexpected ways. Not sure if any show has hit me that hard, but its so hard to actually recomend due to what it is. Well spoken.
I feel like at this point most of the people left watching Made in Abyss are the kind of people who can fully embrace what it's going for and I think that's for the best. I will freely tell people how much I adore it and why but that's not the same thing as recommending it, per se.
Yes! Made In Abyss getting the recognition it deserves!! That show has always been in my Top 10 for the longest time and still is! One of the few animes to make me shed a tear as a young teen who was so invested in season 1's characters and seeing them again was incredible. I was hoping to see more white whistles but still anoter great season! Our boy Kevin Penkin killing it again with the illegible soundtrack lyrics that's somehow another banger!
I'm avoiding season 2 because I'm not strong enough to watch it. I hope someday I will be able to watch it, but for now I'm shielding myself from emotional damage.
Gigguk's ability to take you on a journey of emotions by music and editing choices alone is absolutely insane. Went from laughing uncontrollably, to being near tears remembering certain events from certain episodes, all crafted by the experience mostly found in the music and scenes chosen.
Thiis was probably one of the best "Best of" lists I've seen. It's a testament not only to the caliber of recent anime we've gotten, but to Garnt's insight on what makes them great too.
This guy is just unmatched ain't he. So relatable, so humorous and when he describes how certain anime make him or one feels you can't help but feel the same way. Always touching, always spectacular. Edit: just rewatched this and the Edgerunners bit hit even harder. Ah man.
I don't know what it is about Gigguk's videos, watching him describe my favourite shows so perfectly and eloquently, I just can't seem to hold back my tears.
Same, I was trying to figure out what his #1 would be, and tears instantly sprang into my eyes when I heard that Made in Abyss Season 2 track. And then he goes on to capture why Made in Abyss is like no other anime I've ever watched.

Made in Abyss is by far my favorite anime of all time. It’s so powerful and the journey you take is beyond anything you’d ever expect with this art style. I still haven’t finished Season 2, though, cause I don’t wanna be without episodes to watch if I ever need to watch something like it, but dammit, I’m already here, waiting for Season 3
For this being my first year getting into anime, it was fantastic! Spy x Family, Blue Lock, AoT, Bocchi, Kaguya, Aoashi and Mob Psycho 100 were all a treat. Here’s to 2023!
Since you liked the sports anime maybe try haikyuu or hajime no ippo... and to introduce you to new genres maybe try isekai (re:zero, mushoku tensei) Also two anime that I really love in terms of world building (other than made in abyss ofc) but people seem to have forgotten: nagi no asukara and shinsekai yori. If you like cool world building you'll like those
Ngl Made in Abyss gave me the biggest feeling of adventure that i ever felt. Watching people going into the unknown without any much information and with propably no way back, uncovering history, dark secrets, new creatures, artifacts and other stuff is amazing. Not many shows, books or other media can capture that feeling and i love it.
Despite it's horrific-ness, the sense of mystery and the sheer creativity of the world makes me completely understand why Riko is embarking on this dangerous journey. I might even do the same, in her place. Unlike a lot of the adventure fantasies I see in media (or any genre, really), the world of Made in Abyss feels completely new and has me on the edge of my seat with every new environment. Because I really do have no idea what kind of beings and artifacts they will encounter next. I can't even say that it's torturing characters just for the sake of it, the unknown world they're exploring is simply that dangerous. It reminds me to be thankful to our ancestors for traversing the world before we really KNEW anything, for taking the risks they did. That's what Made in Abyss feels like to me.
An adventure with no return. Modern era doesn't have that option anymore as we have explored all lands and since the bar for space exploration is so high. Could you imagine if anyone could find and fly a space ship? We would be exploring the stars constantly
The character design kept me away at first, and some parts are darkly perverted, but damn it if the story and writing didn’t stir up my emotions! Amazing series, although it’s one you watch alone.
Made in Abyss trully managed to encapsulate the feel of the Abyss, even to the viewer that is confortably seeing it from safety. The whole story until now has been repeating this idea that the abyss is not just a place of nightmares, but also dreams. It may be a horrifying place, but only in its darkness can you reveal the brightness it holds. This is the reason why our main characters never give up despite everything, and the reason we still watch hoping for them to succeed, despite knowing full well that their journey is doomed from the start.
Seeing Made in Abyss, a show that I started with the Manga, going to watch season 1, and after giving up on a season 2, actually getting it, and having all the emotions and immersion of it even after reading the manga beforehand, I still felt like it was the first time seeing it. Truly a masterpiece that deserves the first place. Well done Gigguk
Amazing video! No one does as good as a job as Garnt when it comes to his writing combined with the editing. It feels like a movie. Gotta say blue lock and mob psycho is my favourite from last year but I’m gonna give summertime rendering and made in abyss a shot thanks to this video. Top quality video as always!
That intro to #1 was soul crushing right off the bat. You managed to fully encapsulate this season of Made in Abyss . Likening it to Requiem for a Dream is exceptional. It's a classic in the best most masterful way.
Made in abyss season 2 really needs get more attention. It was overshadowed by so many of all the other big hitters coming out, but was one of my favorite sequals that came out. Music: impeccable Story: Heartbreaking World: Cruel Feels: 1000%
@@thadofalltradesGive it a few months and then watch it, albeit only after you're caught up with the first season and the third film (confusing as that may sound). It will emotionally scour and exhilarate you in ways few other series will. An absolute torch to the spirit. Talking about it makes me sound either like a poet or a lunatic or both. It's just that kind of show.
I couldn't agree with you more. Made in Abyss definitely deserves the first place. There's a sure reason that Made in Abyss is my fav anime of all time. It can capture a feeling that no other anime is able achieve. And the music can just melt your heart when you listen to it later on after knowing the story behind it. Kevin Penkin is a genius composer and one of my biggest inspiration. I literally teared up when the piano part from "Old Stories" started playing in the video. Also Bocchi is my fav from this year. cause i'm an introvert bedroom guitarist as well. I just ordered the manga yesterday. Thanks for the amazing content as always Grant~
I didn't cry. You cried. Garnt has a unique ability to summarize a show in a way that's both funny and deeply authentic. I can't imagine the amount of time you put into this video, and I thank you for that. I can't wait for next year's list. Truly GOATed.
For real. Everytime he posted a video with the most normal title possible, I always ready myself for a self-reflection journey I am about to board We might be joking about his "cross-cultural pollination" but his lingo in general isn't something to be taken lightly
Bro, so happy to see you give Made in Abyss Season 2 the visibility it needed. The characters, the world building, and the writing are just so exceptional and unique. Well done. Thanks for this list.
@@miro4455 If you want a logical reason why he probably doesn't have writer, I'm not sure he makes enough with every videos to pay an editor AND a writer AND then himself. So... probably written by him.
I mean he’s doing this for a fuking while xd. And he is very inside the community with memes ect cuz he still really enjoys anime. It’s just a really good fit I guess.
There used to be another, his name was Digibro who was was more analytically critical and who always delivered and always nailed his topics hitting them on the head, , , until he/she/they got cancelled or smth. But in my mind Gigguk showed up to pick up the slack but just being more meme-y about it. Still, Gigguk's use of video editing and stylization is second to none.
Made in Abyss deserved it’s placement. Absolutely spectacular show that left you feeling stuff you forgot you could feel consistently while staying coherent
Meh felt like the story was forcing its horror elements and all it has is that which it Ruins itself like people trying to put a picture on eldlich horror when things like that are suppose to be uncomprehenible and unknown.
Made in Abyss was a roller coaster of emotion, when it's sad it really is fucking sad, when it's depressing it really is gut wrenching state of depression, when its happy and beautiful it really is delightful.
The sheer emotions of MiA were so heart crushing. Like I was watching the worst moments of someone's life play out in actuality. It was painful but left an important feeling I want to never forget.
Made In Abyss truly is a warm darkness. Its despairing and cold, but also incredibly warm and bright at times. Its just such a brilliant and masterful piece of fiction that is just impossible to pin-point down. Though if I tried, I feel the only word that summarizes it would be...breathtaking.
hey mickell, just wanna tell u how much of an absolute chad you are, you deserve way more subs and you are probably one of if not the most underrated anime youtuber, good luck with youtube and keep up the amazing work. :))))))))))
the more popular a show is, the more likely it is for it to be overrated. of course most of them are hella good, can't say the same about demon slayer though lmao
@@frost3954 fate zero, chainsaw man, edgerunners, attack on titan, and a bunch of others i forgot the name of. All of which have better story and characters
Made in Abyss has been an amazing journey. The manga is incredible with its beautiful, gritty frames. The anime is spectacular and moving with some of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. I'm constantly astounded that the voice acting keeps up and does it justice. It absolutely deserves its place and yet I'm blown away to see it so highly rated. I'm one of those people who never watches shows or movies more than once, no matter how much I like them. Even over a decade later I failed to fully watch back through Cowboy Bebop, one of my all time favorites. Yet I've watched Made in Abyss season 1 three separate times with different friends and season 2 I re-watched the first half so I could finish it with friends. Not a single episode the whole way had me pulling out my phone or feeling bored. I've put the OST from season 1 on in the background enough times it's almost in Final Fantasy territory. I still flip every time I'm watching a video and I hear someone put Made in Abyss in the background of even completely unrelated content. I just cannot sing the praises of the show enough. Here's hoping the slow manga progress and premature Season 3 announcement don't herald a drop in quality.
The funny thing about the statement with "Final Fantasy territory" is that the composer for Made In Abyss, Kevin Penkin. Some of his first credits involved him working with Nobuo Uematsu.
Huh, feels weird to see someone else who is like me when it comes to watching shows you like for the second time, Cowboy bebop is also one of my favorites(if not my number 1) but i just cant go through with it a second time, i dont even know why either(the movie however i've watched a couple of times). For some reason when i try to rewatch anime i really love i cant sit through more than a episode or two.
Are you me?! Rewatching season 1 three times with different friends, listening to the OST any time I want to step back and just feel a bit, .... But still, somehow I have lost the connection to Made in Abyss in the second season a little. Something about that village was just a bit too unreal, the rules were too vague, and in the end did not really make that much sense.... I really hope the story gets more coherent again from here.
I've heard many speeches but the Made in Abyss one was by faaaar your best one Gigguk, really, such a amazing speech, i could not agree more Made in Abyss is special and deserve so much! Honestly it made me tear up a bit, hehe.
I..had never expected a non-Chinese person to know about the Kongming clip, that was amazing. The video editing is also on another level, mad respect for how gigguk continued to improve through out the years.
The real winner this year imo were the soundtracks. Between The Witch from Mercury, Kongming, Lycoris Recoil, AOT, Bocchi, Edgerunners, and Made in Abyss... damn, some of them actually give me chills and get me teary. } It's such a joy we get this on a weekly basis.
I always ended up watching an episode of edgerunners after finishing an episode of Witch from Mercury. The vibes and the soundtrack work so well next to each other
I think Chainsaw Man has better music than Bocchi. Maximum the Hormone, Hachi, Kanaria etc etc. Even if you like pop rock (and not the superior genres of Japanese Metal and Vocaloid) the pop rock intro to Chainsaw Man is better than anything in Bocchi. I do love Bocchi tho. The only superior thing about the music in Bocchi is that it's more integrated into the story and the animation of the musical instruments is superb.
@@KenjaTimu hmm, disagree 🤷🏻♂️. I loved Chainsaw Man's ost, but the only song I even downloaded was the OP. I've had Bocchi on repeat since episode 2 lol. But that's all subjective anyway, it just so happens that the songs in Bocchi hit all the marks for me
Call of the night was a personal favorite since it spoke to my insomniac impulsive self from high school. Regularly skipping class to sleep off my midnight walks for four years straight. Walking through dangerous neighborhoods and doing dangerous things thinking to myself "what was the worst that could happen?".
I never got out at midnight, I don't want to get robbed, specially considering I usually don't have stuff with me so they will either take my clothes or my life. Third world problems.
The best description I can give of Made in Abyss, especially season 2, is that it's a show that forces you to confront the natural suffering of life, and come to terms with it. That's the most accurate description of the emotions it invokes that I can come up with.
4:14 Birdie Wing 5:10 Ya Boy Kongming 6:51 Lycoruis Recoil 8:14 Aoashi and Blue Lock 9:47 Call of the Night 10:55 Summer Time Rendering 12:14 Demon Slayer 13:32 Spy x Family 14:36 Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury 16:37 Kaguya-sama: Love is War 18:21 Chainsaw Man 20:28 Bocchi The Rock 22:53 Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 24:25 Mob Psycho 100 25:57 Made in Abyss
Made in Abyss is truly a masterpiece and the fact that even after all it's horrors it still comes out without you feeling any hate towards any of its characters in season 2 is truly remarkable. I still feel for vieko and faputa. And vieko is one of my fav character in all anime.
Made in Abyss had the best story/world building/drama I've seen in a looong time, the music also plays a big part in the show, it's all so well crafted in every detail, pure genius
I guess I really should give the second season a chance. I've read the manga where it is now (and has been for over half a year since) and it just has so much unnecessary child sexualization that even my anime poisoned brain found it very uncomfortable. If the anime has managed to tone that down by quite a bit and focus on what actually makes the series great that could be worth experiencing.
Yeah Made in Abyss is unironically one of the coolest world setups I've seen in years. Kinda makes you wonder how popular it truly could've been in the timeline where all the loli shit didn't exist in the manga. Like its still this popular with it, without it theres a chance Made in Abyss could've been generation defining.
@@ronelgem23 not sure its this is the exact wording, but in the Charlie tt ep, he said that he gets editors to do the bulk of the work, then he does the small edits here and there
Summertime Rendering was amazing from beginning to end. It easily was one of my favorite shows of all year. It was definitely my most recommended to my friends.
Summertime Render was dogwater smh. Its ending disappointed me. It became a bogstandard shonen battle anime and was barely ever a mystery time travel anime (not that surprising tbh).
@@norwa3518 wow, you are criticizing a Shonen manga why is it shonen lol. I think you are the type of guy who expects genocide in spy x family and romantic scene in aot.
I'm just happy garnt actually recognized mob psycho for once and didn't gloss over it with a single sentence praising it i never thought the day would come 😭😭😭😭
@@RadialSeeker113 oh yea he even talked about it on the pod but in his videos he puts it in the thumbnail and mentions it in passing with other seasonal animes. I'm just really happy cause this was mob's last chance to get in a video
It was easily my favorite new anime of 2022. It's hard to compare something new to a show like Mob Psycho or Love is War, with their multiple seasons, but Summer Time Rendering went toe to toe with the best of them.
I literally watched 95% of the show but then dropped z.z, for some reason it became too "fantasy" in the end, I'd rate it 8/10 overall, but can't even do that cuz I dropped it.
@@silasnebulous4533 I did the same thing tbh once I realised the main villain was the classic demon lord looking loli I dropped it because I thought it was going to be an intricate story like stiens gate
@BTbtm you're wrong! The main villain isn't that girl. Watch the rest. Also, Steins gate lets you know how intricate it is at the end. I would think you'd know to watch till the end before dropping something you're enjoying.
Got the damn shivers and almost tears when both the Cyberpunk songs came on, and the Made in Abyss one did. After watching both series, those are some serious emotional triggers now, and that's how you can tell they're incredible works. Great job on the list, Gigguk, these are all bangers and the memes are still top-notch!
I had Made in Abyss on my to watch list for so many years and in October I finally got around to doing that, finishing of course with season 2. I watched a good chunk of the entries on this list this year as well as others and I really have to emphasise how good Made in Abyss really is. It is really indescribable.
This is the most beautifully compiled recommendation of anime. When it's Gigguk I know I can blindly trust him with his anime recommendations, some of these shows I had already watched and loved, and some I had on my watchlist. Now I'm definitely gonna start watching them.
At first I thought Gigguk was getting experimental with his transitions but as he gave his conclusion to the video I realized the entire time the audio was out of sync.😂
Made in Abyss season 2 felt like discovering anime all over again. I was in complete awe every episode and the storytelling was peak, not to mention the incredible music that really transports you into this new world. It doesn't matter how many years it takes to finish this story, I'll be there waiting.
As a huge Made in the Abyss fan I’m glad to see it get the love it deserves! In a anime community now with so many high budget productions and new shows, Made in the Abyss is like a quite master piece, in world full of noise. An only those willing to listen can truly feel it’s impact on the soul *sheds single tear*
I'm definitely not a slice of life guy either, but Bocchi the Rock is easily the best show I watched in 2022. I haven't laughed this hard at any show since I was a teenager. The gags are well thought out and hit hard.
Yeah, same. I adore Edgerunners, Mob Psycho, and Made In Abyss. But Edgerunners had pacing problems, and Mob Psycho + Made In Abyss were both the third significant entry in their series. I love those shows, I'm pretty sure I gave all of them a 10/10 on MAL (and I don't give out many, I just loved each of them) but Bocchi was a slice of life with no previous development and was able to rival and surpass them (in my opinion). That just goes to show how much passion can impact an adaptation. The people adapting Bocchi understood the source material and loved it. They wanted to see it succeed, enjoyed working with it, and knew how to make the most out of it with their creative use of animation. It was something special. And, (I'm gonna annoy people by saying this) it's also why I didn't find Chainsaw Man or anything made by MAPPA recently all that special. They're too soulless. They're adapting too much and throwing productions at their staff rather than letting them choose what they want to do. I enjoyed Chainsaw Man too. But it lacked the creative spice that Bocchi had that only comes from a production that the staff are actively passionate about. They're too corporate/profit driven. Here's hoping they realise this and we get another WIT Studio situation. WIT, for those who don't know, was essentially an 'elite' team of animators from Production I.G. that were given their own studio to have more creative freedom and a more open budget in the projects they took on. Attack On Titan S1 was essentially a marketing piece to highlight their talent. And WIT has made some of the most impressive anime as of recent. MAPPA doing something similar would be interesting.
Made in Abyss is going to be one of my favourite anime of all time, I can feel it. The innocence and wonder of the adventure these literal CHILDREN depart on, and the horrors they face as they would if their joirney took place in the real world. I love how it doesnt shy away from things like kids being frightened and peeing themselves, because thats exactly what a 12 year old in such a terrible situation might do. They dont give them plot armour just because they're kids, it makes it feel so impactful.
I am so happy Gigguk not only he mentioned Made in Abyss but also placed it number 1 in the list, almost no one I know has seen this masterpiece and happy people will now do after this video. Thanks Grant!!
Damn when you let "Witch From Mercury" play it gave me chills right away. And then Kevin Penkin's hit me with the same chills but also almost made me cry on cue. I gotta say, I agree that Made in Abyss is my number 1 of 2022. I don't think any other anime gave me or could ever give me that kind of experience.
man, his description of made in abyss resonated so much with me, it was so emotionally powerful and moving it's something that you don't forget. It's a strange feeling, it's not a feels-good anime or a really action-packed epic with fight scenes, but the philosophy and messages that are so beautiful and moving in the way it happens. The characters get what they want, but not exactly how they imagined it. And in the end, they end up losing everything they thought they wanted but gained something they never thought they wanted
Also the fights is not the main focus but they are amazing fights as well that use the environment , reg , nanachi and riko vs bondrewd no.1 and reg and bondrewd final fight , faputa vs reg , faputa vs monsters of the abyss they are all amazing
If there are some parts where the video is muted it is unfortunately because I got hit by copyright

I was lucky enough to contribute a tiny bit towards this season of Made in Abyss, and the love the show is getting is incredible.

I still haven’t finished Season 2, though, cause I don’t wanna be without episodes to watch if I ever need to watch something like it, but dammit, I’m already here, waiting for Season 3
Finished it by now? The second half of season 2 is one of the best things I've ever seen. Admire your self control tho
Season 3 ain't coming out for probably another 5+ years. The manga has barely progressed past where season 2 leaves off...

It's pure fantasy through and through
Despite it's horrific-ness, the sense of mystery and the sheer creativity of the world makes me completely understand why Riko is embarking on this dangerous journey.
@@joyc.e.7511 damn you described it so perfectly

I'm just happy Made in the Abyss got some well deserved praise. The story in season 2 was touching to say the least.
Fr bro. I have a masterpiece list with a very select few things, and, trust me, I didn't need to hesitate on putting made in abyss on the top.
The funny thing about the statement with "Final Fantasy territory" is that the composer for Made In Abyss, Kevin Penkin. Some of his first credits involved him working with Nobuo Uematsu.

I hate juroimoh
Made in Abyss had the best story/world building/drama I've seen in a looong time, the music also plays a big part in the show, it's all so well crafted in every detail, pure genius
I guess I really should give the second season a chance. I've read the manga where it is now (and has been for over half a year since) and it just has so much unnecessary child sexualization that even my anime poisoned brain found it very uncomfortable. If the anime has managed to tone that down by quite a bit and focus on what actually makes the series great that could be worth experiencing.
@@retrohanska4441 You‘re in luck, it really isn’t like that, like at all.
@@retrohanska4441 yeah they removed alot of the sexual manga parts
Yeah Made in Abyss is unironically one of the coolest world setups I've seen in years.
Kinda makes you wonder how popular it truly could've been in the timeline where all the loli shit didn't exist in the manga. Like its still this popular with it, without it theres a chance Made in Abyss could've been generation defining.
From what i can see, it has similiar vibe to it's world as Shadow of the colossus.
As soon as the Made in Abyss piano started, I got hit with the feels before I even placed exactly which ost I was hearing.
Which two osts did he play for Made in Abyss?
@@guidomista2162 Old stories, and Gravity
dam bro, you really gotta give a big thank you to your editors for me
I think he does most of the edits himself.
@@ronelgem23 not sure its this is the exact wording, but in the Charlie tt ep, he said that he gets editors to do the bulk of the work, then he does the small edits here and there
It's nice to see someone Express the same level of feels towards made in abyss. So excited to see the mystery that will be the next season.
@@norwa3518 I'm sure there's no contrarian bias there whatsoever
@@MonkofVibes The show wasn't popular anyways so I'd have no reason to feel biased other than the fact that it genuinely was dogshit
@@norwa3518 wow, you are criticizing a Shonen manga why is it shonen lol.
I think you are the type of guy who expects genocide in spy x family and romantic scene in aot.
Yep, true. I have never seen an anime going to climax at episode 4.
I'm just happy garnt actually recognized mob psycho for once and didn't gloss over it with a single sentence praising it i never thought the day would come 😭😭😭😭
Why? He's been a fan of the show since s1 teaser lol
@@RadialSeeker113 oh yea he even talked about it on the pod but in his videos he puts it in the thumbnail and mentions it in passing with other seasonal animes. I'm just really happy cause this was mob's last chance to get in a video
Same.
Summer Time Rendering was SO underrated. The music, the plot, the animation, everything was such a surprise to me! Everyone go watch it!🥰
It was easily my favorite new anime of 2022.
@@harnageaa What a dumb reason to drop a series you've been enjoying for so long.
I'm being very honest.
I am literally crying! My man Gigguk! Why did you have to hit us that hard for the Made in Abyss summary?!
100% agree with Made in Abyss's placement here. That story is deeply moving, and personal in a way that media of any form rarely achieves.
I had Made in Abyss on my to watch list for so many years and in October I finally got around to doing that, finishing of course with season 2. I watched a good chunk of the entries on this list this year as well as others and I really have to emphasise how good Made in Abyss really is. It is really indescribable.
Bruh was hyped for the New video just for it to be removed
i waz quite literally in the mIDDLE of the episode when it disappeared. Thought it was NordVPN ad
The Video and audio was out of Sync
Yeah, i got the notif then i clicked. I thought there wasn't
Thank you for adding Birdie Wings into your list Gigguk! Such an underappreciated anime because GOLF. Fire song, fire anime.
I thought it was a golf anime. Apparently I was mistaken and need to watch.

This is the most beautifully compiled recommendation of anime. When it's Gigguk I know I can blindly trust him with his anime recommendations, some of these shows I had already watched and loved, and some I had on my watchlist. Now I'm definitely gonna start watching them.
At first I thought Gigguk was getting experimental with his transitions but as he gave his conclusion to the video I realized the entire time the audio was out of sync.😂
i thought it was my earphone problem ahhahaah
But why? Is it a UA-cam TV issue?
he removed the video for winter 2023 because the audio was desynced, be patient
Ooohh... Makes sense
Oh OK sorry on edge with this new swear words in first 2 minutes policy, thought UA-cam done got him
11:10 That's what sailing the high seas is for. Summer Time Rendering was a fantastic anime.
Yeah, no monopoly deserves to get money. No exceptions.
Made in Abyss season 2 felt like discovering anime all over again. I was in complete awe every episode and the storytelling was peak, not to mention the incredible music that really transports you into this new world. It doesn't matter how many years it takes to finish this story, I'll be there waiting.
Even when your in He- Heaven ?

Made in abyss is truly amazing, in a year of such strong titles it stood out so much...now to wait for another 5 years for season 3
Haha, 5 years, I see you're overly optimistic! _starts to sob in the corner_
In the manga the author hasn't post a new chapter for nearly 6 months now and it still at where the anime end lmao.

Made in abyss s2 was a banger masterpiece , the music and story were phenomenal
I'm definitely not a slice of life guy either, but Bocchi the Rock is easily the best show I watched in 2022. I haven't laughed this hard at any show since I was a teenager. The gags are well thought out and hit hard.
Same. I was actually surprised how funny it was. It's one of the only shows in a long time that's made me laugh so hard I cried.
looks to me you just discovered slice of life was your thing all along xD.
@@dohalimilqarasdeldemenanci8483 The slice of life life were the youtubers you met on the way.
MAPPA doing something similar would be interesting.
me too
Just hearing old story is making cry again.damn it.made in abyss is truly a gem of storytelling
Everytime
I am proud, I baited my friend into watch made in abyss for the first time
Made in Abyss is going to be one of my favourite anime of all time, I can feel it.
Made in Abyss season 2 is the most beautiful clusterfuck that makes me traumatize for almost a week. truly deserve the number 1 spot

Remember that the sequel to season one is the dawn of the deep soul movie. Make sure you watch it before season 2.
Be prepared. As he said, it's not the show for enjoyment.
This is by far not just my favourite anime but my favourite show of all times , you can't find something like it
I am so happy Gigguk not only he mentioned Made in Abyss but also placed it number 1 in the list, almost no one I know has seen this masterpiece and happy people will now do after this video. Thanks Grant!!
They won't be happy people any longer after watching it :')
Gigguk never disappoints. Even if I watched most of these, I always enjoy hearing his spoiler free takes
10:15
I AUDIBLY GASPED! 😭
man, his description of made in abyss resonated so much with me, it was so emotionally powerful and moving it's something that you don't forget.
Except bondrewd he get everything he want , such a chad
Also the fights is not the main focus but they are amazing fights as well that use the environment , reg , nanachi and riko vs bondrewd no.1 and reg and bondrewd final fight , faputa vs reg , faputa vs monsters of the abyss they are all amazing
Can you pls tell me the name of the ost that played in the vid, that shit brought me to tears
