    Charge backs are huge and scary. You have to talk to a "supervisor" at Square and they usually let you know in real time it is an issue. Checks are just as bad. CASH is still king. Until there is Federal protection for the seller, a lot of people will just complain to their credit card companies to get their money back, whatever reason. A 5 year and/or $500,000 fine would stop charge backs in their tracks.

    Square sent me an email saying that I violated section 35 payment terms and therefore they deactivated my account.

      They’re the worst, it happened to me a month ago, it was a bitter experience. I ended up losing $9,000 and a valuable customer. They’re a scam company, pretty much what they like to do is once you collect the money through their credit card processor at first is hold the funds, the next thing is send a (suspicious activity) alert email, after they ask for some information, the very next day your account gets permanently deactivated and they hold the funds for 90 days, in some cases some people still waiting after a year ago and some simply don’t get nothing back, and don’t even bother yourself calling customer service, because they don’t have any!!. What I did was to flood their Twitter account with complaints till they finally made a reimbursement back to my customer. I ended up losing the customer because of their very bad practice. I WILL NEVER, EVER WILL RECOMMEND OR DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM and I believe they also own cash app!

      Very much so. I worked for a call center that Intuit outsourced their customer service to for Quickbooks Online - so many angry calls about Intuit holding $80k for the past 9 months, etc. square saying these “holds are rare” is 100% bullshit. It happens to too many people. They claim it’s to filter out drug trafficking and money laundering... but if anyone is being shady with money it’s them in my opinion.

    • @WingChunGungFu
      @WingChunGungFu 3 роки тому +1

      @@joelw2413 Sorry my friend, but you’re wrong. Intuit owns square and square is used with Intuit’s products - so they are square. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been getting those hundreds of calls from angry customers about square.

    • @illaneecorona
      @illaneecorona 3 роки тому

      @@WingChunGungFu So youre both off a bit.. but mostly you. Lol. Square is integrated with Intuit in many legal ways (like TurboTax etc) *but Square is not outright OWNED by Intuit. Depending on the product, it would 100% make sense on why you would receive calls from Square customers though. Yet Square, as of Dec 2020, is NOT an actual subsidiary of Intuit. (Unless you have some HUGE-HUGE, groundbreaking, upcoming January 2021 news, you overheard early lol.) Intuit owns QuickBooks, Credit Karma etc. Meanwhile, Square just bought Credit Karma's *Tax sector. So they work very closely, closing many deals to convenience the other but they are legally 2 entities not owned by the other- as of yet.

    • @illaneecorona
      @illaneecorona 3 роки тому

      @@WingChunGungFu Also many ignorant customers might ASSUME the ownership due to the intergrations (without simple research) and just need a company to yell at.. so theyll pick the one they assume is involved even for products that dont concern that company lol.

    • @WingChunGungFu
      @WingChunGungFu 3 роки тому

      @@illaneecorona I haven’t been there in 3 years, but none of this matters. What matters is square is garbage. Don’t use them. I could really care less if square isn’t owned by Intuit anymore today. Back when I was with them, they were. That’s where it started. Cheers 🍻

    He's processing large amounts of money. A single transaction for him is a few hundred or more.
    I'm not a Square meatrider. I'm hesitant to use them.
    However, my business does not process NEARLY that much. I feel like it was just too much money and it flagged his account. If you're gonna process multiple thousands of dollars, you're better off finding a different company.
    Otherwise, best thing you can do with Square is have daily deposits set up. That way, if they put a hold on your account, they don't keep too much of your hard earned money. Once money is in your bank account there isn't anything they can do unless you lose a chargeback dispute.

      @@suppaman12 2013 is when my world crumbled. Square worked great for about a year. I had a large group of clients in Mexico and an email came in with the PENDING Transactions. Email after email they said they would return in 30, then 90, then 180 days. By then, damage was done. I maxed out all my credit cards, borrowed from family/friends but it was too much. I had to admit myself for a nervous breakdown after Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine filed theft charges on behalf of clients whose money was wrapped up. I tried for years to get anyone to listen but no-one believed it "how could they do that, your lying" "you stole our money" I had one attack my parenting and started my daughter should be taken away. It was a horrible time in my life. Went to court, took a plea because I was too scared that the jury wouldn't believe it. FIVE YEARS STATE WOMEN'S PRISON, suspended because I had no route of record. Probation for five, daily call in, meetings every month with court, pay restitution of almost $30k. Can't even get hired at a dollar store with a felony. I work in the side to make money, also attending college so in a way this horrible time in my life has made me grow. One thing I regret more than anything is not telling the clients upfront. I had been in business for over 20+ years and had other agents all over the Midwest calling for my help, why would I do anything to jeopardize that? I truly believed they would return the money so I unfortunately didn't tell the clients. Even my attorney said he wouldn't have either...It's just so unbelievable because SQUARE had ads every where. If selling small ticket items like homemade soaps or cakes its probably fine. My business was high ticket travel packages and it just killed me.

      Okay I'm in full agreement I am a small business owner at the largest open air artisan market in the country starting April 1st every spring or whatever Saturday is the beginning one of April The artisan market called Saturday market opens at 10:00 a.m. the vendors have to get there by 8:00 and we set up our pop-ups and tables and chairs and all of our inventory and we have management mapping out where we are and taking care of our online presence with Instagram and their social media sites promoting us it's a really good gig and then after the first Saturday in November we stopped until what was this year's November 19th so like the second or third week of November and then we do Saturday and Sunday but instead of 6 hours it's 8 hours open and indoors at the event center at the fairgrounds and it's called Holiday market and we have to pay a bigger fee for rental space because we have a roof over our heads and heating and outlets for electricity but we annually pay a $50 fee for Saturday market like I'm just a 4x4 space so I pay $8 every Saturday and 10% of my sales total to the managers and the only other sizes for Saturday market are 8x8 which is a $15 rental every Saturday plus 10% the same but Holiday market which is every Saturday and Sunday starting November 19th until December 24th it's supposed to be Saturday and Sunday but for Black Friday we're open to make a three-day weekend and then Christmas falling on Sunday we were open to Friday previous blah blah blah I'm new this is my first year so it was going to be $300 rental for every day of the Holiday market but I put in 2 hours of volunteer time and they took off 40 bucks so it was $260 and no percentage of total sales but again I'm in a 4x4 space which is the cheapest and my whole point is I quickly got the little square swiper for my phone and then I started using it and sent away for the basic card and I didn't even ever see that I had a PIN number with it I just always ran the card as credit when I was buying stuff with it but after I swiped every customer's purchase in the transactions part of the app it would show what time and how much like let's say $65 at 3:15 p.m. and within 30 to 45 minutes at the absolute most then I could go into the fourth option and click on balance and that transaction would show up in my balance but normally it would take about 20 minutes and then immediately show up and be available with the 2.75% for every swipe including 10 cents as well and if you have to enter it manually it's like 3.7% and 10 cents for every sale and I never saw anything saying pending in the April to December 24th time this year that I've been using it in fact square declines one of my online purchases that I was trying to make because it was with a company in Singapore and they emailed me immediately and said we do not do business with the country of Singapore because of high scamming and I ended up finding the very silly crocodile socks on eBay for half the price anyways so they saved me money and a possible scam and if I ever saw a pending or didn't see my transaction that went through transfer onto the balance section in I would give it 2 hours I say for charges not to show up before I would call customer service and take cash or Venmo the managers where I work have a credit card machine but it's kind of a hassle to get to their booth for the customer and they charge 5% of every sale but that's still an option for me and that's what I would do if I didn't see the transfer show up onto my balance within a maximum of 2 hours I don't play with money like that if I saw multiple pending charges and 24 hours went by I would be on the phone with customer service as well as online with customer service and not using the card swiper or square as a form of payment and I would probably try to empty my account with paying bills that are critical with the card or anything that I would buy with cash or my community credit Union card I would use my square card for in that instance to drain my own account if that ever happened to prevent my money from going away but I think it all depends on how much trust you have and how much you're on top of your money like you said and how you came up you know it's one thing to come from the grind of working your business it's another thing to come from the struggle to get to the point where you can get on your grind you know? It's a inner tribal saying " I'm not coming from the grind, I'm coming from the struggle." when talking about work ethic and things like that. I am now very much more weary of square because I can't use the square card at some convenience stores because they won't give me the option to run it as credit and they want me to run it as debit and I never set up a pin so I right before watching this video set up a pin and now I don't know if they're going to send me a new debit card because they said your cards in the mail but I don't know if it was an old notification I'm right about to check is it two separate cards when you run this credit and when you run his debit? Autocorrect is killing me I hope that you can understand what I'm saying and I had no idea you could take out loans with square I mean my credit score is like 567 because of one unpaid medical bill and one unpaid cable bill and I was told the student loans don't affect your credit score but let this be a lesson to all yes yes 5 years of college student loans affects your freaking credit score I've never had a true credit card or taking out a loan I tried to get an Ulta beauty store credit card that you can only use in the store and they laughed when they saw my credit score not in the mean way just like a oh you were right no so yeah
