    I live in a one bedroom apartment in the city and I like most people loathe doing dishes. I came across this beauty and I like it more than I like most people! Lol, it's my new BFF. It cut my time down in the kitchen of washing dishes to just a few minutes instead of ten minutes. I may have to still wash a pan or two by hand. But that's nothing compared to a sink full of dishes. Thanks so much Hava!

    I have this machine. It is an absolute gem. I bought it when my full-size dishwasher died on me and I just didn't feel like spending $1,000 to replace it.
    It actually cleans better than my old Bosch. It's worth every penny and I can't live without it.

    NOW you tell me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 A few years ago, I put a scrubby sponge in our microwave: started a fire out the BACK of the microwave and burned my wallpaper! Sometimes, it’s hard to believe I’ve lived this long🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😘

      Oh no! That's horrible. I mention it because the individually wrapped Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges now say on each individual package wrapper "Do not sanitize in the microwave." For this very reason. LOL. I'm sorry about your fire and wallpaper.

    I have a portable Farberware and it is a dream! It has a standerd plug so no problem and holds a 4 place setting, and 4 cups and at least 12 silverware., I even jam more in mine lol😅. It works like a fullsize and the quickwash setting is 45 minutes. lt has fruit and glasses only setting and a longer regular wash if needed. (I have never needed the regular cycle) it cleans perfectly and it has never let me down. It is quiet and easy to load as I can load and start in 5 minutes. With ongoing use its easy to load after a while. Mine does have a air cycle but that is to slightly dry and air out the unside but it is left open for air dry with never any spots. It loads water at the top and gives a beep when full and drains in a bucket on the floor. It can be hooked up at the sink or be placed on a small cart like mine in my kitchen. I love the unit and it only uses a small amount water of detergent. If i have more dishes to wash I simply reload. The only thing I've done differently is I got a larger Tupperware to fill it like the cereal container size and it fills easier with only 2 containers full. The pitcher it came with takes at least 4 fills .
    If you want one buy one you wont regret it.

    This is a great idea for a work space or shared kitchen -
    Our co-op art gallery has a studio and classroom with small kitchenette - sink, fridge, electric tea kettle and microwave. This unit is about the size of the dish drainer, and would be a great option!

    I have this and it leaked from the bottom. I emailed Hava and they sent me a new one (after they had me tear the first one apart). The second one also leaks. They won't respond to my emails. Also, I was using gel detergent and it was not cleaning my dishes completely. I switched to the little tablet things (currently using Finish Quantum) and it cleans much better.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry to hear that. I wonder if it's a connector issue. It shouldn't be leaking. Dumb question but is the door sealing properly? I remember when I got mine the door frame has magnets and the magnets are coated with some shipping protective tape or plastic that was preventing the door from closing all the way and the magnets from fully engaging to keep the door closed. Could it be something weird like that?

    • @jennbinkley8809
      @jennbinkley8809 2 роки тому +1

      @@AskAngelaBrown if you look at the bottom of the machine, each little foot has a hole beside it. That is where the water comes from. Sometimes it's the left, sometimes the right, and sometimes both. They had me tear the entire thing apart to make sure the drain hose was connected on the inside. I run the machine the same exact way every time. Sometimes it's fine, other times it leaks. I think the replacement machine they sent is even worse.

    • @doloresleyva8810
      @doloresleyva8810 4 місяці тому

      @@jennbinkley8809 It should not leak just be sure to never top off the water if loading by hand or make sure if sink filling that it is not overfilling. When the fill sensor beeps stop filling. The other thing I suggest is make sure all dishes like glasses and bowls are facing downward and remove an dreconnect the hoses.
      That should fix the leak. If the unit was malfunctioning ot would stop and give an error code which troubleshoots in the manual. Your not getting an error code so I am.pretty sure it's a filling issue or displacement issue causing residual water to stay in the bottom of it. I cut Cascade Platinum dishwasher pods in half and use it in my portable dishwasher and have never had dirty or spotty dishes. (I am sure to scrape all chunks of food off also even a piece of corn left behind can jam a unit)
      Good luck hope this helps you.

      Hi, if you look up another countertop dishwasher called KAPAS, that may answer your question.
      It looks like the exact same model as this HAVA but the KAPAS comes with the actual accesory for that section you are wondering about. Its like a little rack that you slide in and out to put utensils as well. The Hava just has the lines there but no rack with it. Not sure if you could find it sold separately.

  • @tulipsun2026
    @tulipsun2026 2 роки тому +1

    From all the comments i got the fact that HAVA and NOVETE are the same machine with different name.
    Though some reviews show a little bit of plates which does not convince me to buy.
    But Angela filled it up with plates…. Now we are talking. But what size is your largest dinner plate?
    Also there is another one “like” these called KAPAS.
    And its cheaper- but does it compare?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 роки тому +1

      The dinner plates are regular size dinner plates. I do believe in this video we also used small salad plates as well. This little dishwasher does have a few different names - and they all work the same. The big difference is the cutlery tray is different (I guess to differentiate them.)

    • @luxurycardstore
      @luxurycardstore 2 роки тому +1

      The one I have looks exactly like those two, but the brand on mine is called Kapas. I got it last November for $269 from Walmart and I love it. Some things you should know:
      1) It says that it is 17.5 inches high so it will fit under the upper cabinets in your kitchen. It actually is 18.2 inches tall so it probably will not fit under upper cabinets. I happened to already have a kitchen cart that it fit on perfectly. I also put a rimmed cookie sheet underneath it, just in case it leaks. (It hasn't)

      2) You may see people complain that it will not fit regular size dinner plates. It does if you remove the upper silverware basket. I already had a small stainless steel silverware caddy that I bought off of Amazon and it fits perfectly in the back, so you can remove the top one and fit your plates in.
      3) Don't use gel diswashing liquid. I bought a bottle of the "store brand" gel and it did not work at all. I thought it was the dishwasher and I was really upset because I thought I had wasted $269. A couple months later I happened to see an article written by Consumer Reports that said that almost ALL gels don't work and that Cascade pods are the top rated dishwashing soaps. I bought some Cascade pods off of Amazon and I am now going nuts washing everything in sight because they defintely work. Buy this dishwasher - you will not regret it.

    • @jennbinkley8809

      @@luxurycardstore I agree that the gel detergent does not do a good job in this machine at all. I was using Cascade gel, then I changed to Finish Quantum and the dishes are clean. With the gel, I basically had to wash them before I ran the dishwasher.

      This was a great comment. Very helpful. I been thinking of getting this for a while and was wondering if getting a KAPAS would be a bad idea since i was not sure if it was the same as Novete and Hava.
      I can’t believe the dishwashing gel doesn’t work, i was thinking of getting exactly that for it. Because isn’t a pod too much for this small dishwasher? Which brand poda did you get?

      There is a fruit setting which doesn't heat the water as hot as it does when you sterilize the dishes. And you don't use dish soap for fruit. Other than that it is a regular dishwasher that does everything a dishwasher is supposed to do.

    I'm not understanding the following point...and I know I can be a little slow sometimes lol...but you add water (and soap in the dishwasher) and it washes the dishes. Do you have to go back at some point to add more water in the top of the dishwasher for the rinse cycle then?, because it seems like if you don't, then it would still have soap on the dishes when finished washing. Don't laugh too hard...it's just something that I am not getting for some reason. lol

      Any small kitchen cart on wheels may work. It's not very heavy and not very big. amzn.to/3oxGVGC You could wheel it close to the sink (so it can drain properly) and then wheel it away when not in use. Or, you could put a small bucket under it with the hose inside the bucket and empty the bucket after each use. Either way, make sure the cart you get has a flat top on it (not a lip or a ridge) you need to be able to open the door to get the dishes in and out.

    I personally recommend using liquid/gel dishwasher detergent. Pods shouldn't be used, they're designed for much larger dishwashers and I've seen videos of people who clogged these small units using them. The powder, what I find is when you shut the door the powder gets pinched between the gasket and door and I don't think that's good for the long haul/life of the gasket and watching others that jammed their units using the pods (which were powder) I'm guessing it may leave residue and build up. But, liquid detergent won't hurt the gasket if it gets pinched and I don't think will build up residue as much as powder. Why I personally think liquid dishwasher detergent makes the most sense. Though, once you get a handle of how much to use there isn't anything stopping you from pouring the powder into the unit instead of the door. Good video, mine came with the rack in backwards so my coffee cups on the small top tray were hitting the light dome but turning it around so it's on the right as you did will fix that. Though, because the rack has a handle and that handle now is towards the back I think it was a mistake in design... they didn't account for the light dome so we have to put the rack in backwards if using that top tray.

      The liquid dish detergent made my dishes cloudy and I hated it. Through trial and error , I simply cut the pod in half because a whole pod was too much soap and I remove the pod gel outer part. It's not hard to just snip in half and get the detergent into the reservoir. My dishes clean beautifully with Cascade Platinum dishwasher pods. They sparkle and are clean with no spots. My units filter is cleaned regularly and I do a vinegar only wash every month to keep it clean so no odor comes about.

    I was so excited about this until I realized that the cabinets near my sink are too low for it to fit under, and the closest open countertop is more than 61 inches away.
    The only solutions I can think of are to find a way to extend the drain hose or set up a little table near the sink for it to rest on. Does the unit need to be level with or higher than the sink it drains into?
    I'm starting to think this might be more hassle than it's worth for me, especially since I'd have to keep it on the floor in the hallway when not in use - I've got less than 4'x2' of counter space for food prep in my tiny kitchen!

      It doesn't fit under my countertops either because I only have 16-17" clearance and you need a minimum of 18". So, it sits on a table and the drain hose is connected to a 10 gallon bucket because the drain hose cannot be higher than the machine. I have to dump the bucket out into the sink every time I use it. But, to save me the hassle of doing dishes my hand I will do it. My kitchen is too small to have even the smaller size portable dishwasher (on wheels that hooks up to your sink).

      @@jennbinkley8809 my unit is too big at 20 in squared to fit on my counter so I have it on a small cart and it drains into a regular mopbucket. It only uses about a little more than a half bucket per full cycle so no biggie to throw that down the sink. what do you think this machine compares with Farberware professional countertop washer?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 роки тому +2

      It is possible they are similar if not the same. There is another brand on the market that seemed identical to the HAVA except the lid for the cutlery container was different. All the other specs seemed to work and operate the same way. If you are buying one, check the mfg. warranty to make sure you are covered and that it meets your needs.

    • @Pr0fessorScience
      @Pr0fessorScience 3 роки тому +3

      @@AskAngelaBrown FYI. I've been shopping around for a countertop dishwasher lately (actually just purchased the HAVA before I came across this video - much happier with that decision now that I've seen this, so thank you for the content!) and I found some disturbing similarities among the negative reviews of the Farberware countertop model w/reservoir.
      Pretty much every negative review I found mentioned *extreme* customer service issues, and a manual-provided customer service number that took consumers to a company called Edge Consumer Brands as opposed to speaking with Farberware directly. These reviewers said that their complaints had not been acknowledged and that weeks to months after seeking services covered under warranty, they'd yet to receive any kind of acceptable response.
      I did some more digging and found that Farberware acknowledges Edge's association with their company on their dedicated site for microwaves, where it describes Edge as "a global sourcing and development company." So that at least confirms the countertop dishwashers these reviewers purchased were not counterfeit. Farberware does license their name to other companies and I doubt they genuinely produce anything on their own anymore; their official customer service page, for example, directs consumers to contact Walmart for issues with Farberware-branded portable kitchen appliances and to contact Senior Brands, LLC for issues with Farberware-branded food storage products.
      So while reviews of Farberware's countertop dishwasher w/reservoir are overall very high, it seems the warranty will not be honored in the event there is a problem with the machine or a part that needs replacing. Overall it seems like it would be a very risky purchase.

    Most of these countertop Dishwashers can only fit 10in dishes. to fit larger dishes requires the dishes to go in slanted but that wastes a lot of space. You have to shop carefully for a size that can take your dishes. The bigger ones can fit 11in dishes but do not have a built in water tank so you have to hook up a hose to the faucet. I wish someone makes a unit about 20inx20inx20in with a built in water tank.
