You are the most accomplished individual among the deceased tributes, surpassing even the esteemed Legacy. You are my preferred source of information regarding those who have passed away and the circumstances surrounding their demise.
Beautifully presented. The tinting is perfect. Great photos, too! I was just enjoying some Ben Turpin silent comedies last night. It was good to see him in your video. The great film comedian Charley Chase also died in 1940.
❤😊🎉Wow. This was really nice. I learned quite a bit about people's from the past. Most of whom I have not heard of before, sorry 😔 to say. Thank you for posting this 😊❤. 8/17/24.
I love your videos, so well put together that o can only imagine the time and headaches of peacing one of these together. Incredible video thanks for adding the automobile giants. Had no clue that Margaret Mitchell died at the end the 40's thought she died around the mid 40's
@@inmemoriam2000 These have opened my eyes to some celebs I hadn’t really been familiar with. Might be interesting to see the celebrities of not only the rest of the 20th century, but further back too.
I always find these videos fascinating, and this one was no exception. It seemed to me that cerebral hemorrhage was the cause of death for several people - I find that interesting. Also, though, there were a good bunch of writers whose works I'm going to find out more about now (I'm an avid reader and library worker)!
How could you forget Antoine de Saint-Exupery? Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Aviator and writer, Wrote the iconic novel, 'The Little Prince'. (1943), as well as 'Vol de Nuit' (1931) Died July 31st, 1944, 44 (airplane crash)
My parents were born in 1943 and 1944...so it's amazing that it wasn't all that long ago that people who created or invented significant things in the late 1800s and early 1900s were still alive.
I believe Carol Lombard did die in a airplane crash , but I believe she was returning from a War Bond Tour , Jan 1942 , just after the bombing of Pearl Habor , She died along with several Military Service Men , Her tour generated a lot of money for the War Effert, Carol Lumbard and the personal that died with her were Considered Official War Casualties , as they were in the Service of the US Government - Rallies , Selling War Bonds , at the time , she was Married to Clark Gable at the time also , at one time Carol Lombard was the highest paid Woman Actress in Hollywood , Clark was Devistated about her death
With regards to Actress Carole Landis, 16:41, she took her own life eating some kind of poison due to the fact of actor Rex Harrison not marrying her/relationship issues. She left a note behind telling everyone how sorry she was, etc. There are photos of her resting her head in an unusual position on a bathroom powder box of some kind, police detectives on scene examining evidence. She starred in one of the many movies of the '40s "Four Jills in a Jeep" alongside Betty Grable. I have a handwritten letter from her amongst the many memorabilia of vintage actresses.
As I watch this ... Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 6.56 p.m., the Australian Television industry is preparing to celebrate its annual awards ceremony known as The Logies. In fact, the 64th annual TV Week Logie awards. Named after one John "Logie" Baird.
I'm sorry to point this out but you have shown a picture of James Naismith as the inventor of volleyball when in fact he was the inventor of Basketball.
This is great, as always. I had no idea Rachmaninoff was alive into the 1940’s or that Glenn Miller died so young. But Babe Ruth should have been in a Yankees uniform!

God bless you for those nice words. I will definitely consider your Our Gang suggestion. Thanks.
@@inmemoriam2000thank you very kindly.
A lot of automotive and aero fatalities, plus quite a few passing in their fifties (or younger) from illness. This was a fascinating video.
I think you missed on General George Patton. He died from injuries from a car accident.
The complications from the accident are listed in the video .
This was so interesting and moving. Will watch again! Thank you for a beautiful presentation! (as always)
Gen died yes bc of our government and his brakes going out 10 days after accident ?
Excellent as always. I'd only wish it would be longer. Perhaps you'll find few more names and we'll see it revised. Thank you and waiting for more.

So many big names who died so long ago. Just shows that your name can live forever.

Many Icons died in that era.
How far back are you going with these? These are fascinating.
I'm not sure. Any suggestions??

@@chrisdymmel2934 I see the issue with anything past the 20th century will be the difficulty of finding any quality photos , if any at all.
@@inmemoriam2000 two suggestions
1. One featuring the grand ladies of the silent era
2. The great guys of the silent era
@@ronaldsteele6151 Thank you for those suggestions.
My grandma was buried in the same cemetery as the great late Bill Robertson Bojangles. She was laid to rest in the same section.
This was very well done, but, I prefer individual years. You can include many more. Still, hearing some of their voices.
R.I.P to Joseph P Kennedy Jr John F Kennedy’s older brother
Born July 25, 1915 Died August 12, 1944 cause of death airplane explosion

R.I.P. to them all
General George Patton cause of death may be technically correct but it resulted from a car accident that paralyzed him from the neck down.
So many legends here!
Большое спасибо,очень интересно.
Всегда пожалуйста.
Well done
Thank you
Great video but why not include boxer Jack Johnson? He was the African American Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the world and he died on June 10, 1946.

If Fields ever met Ruth he might have said “better here than Philadelphia-or Boston.”
I think you should vioce the videos for those of us with vision problems
Lou Gehrig!
It's interesting who you didn't include--Hitler and Mussolini. Both were extremely influential, though not in a positive way.
Virginia Woolf was so pretty and so was Carole Lombard!
No mentioning of Hitler or Mussolini? They were awful, but significant figures of history.
Where's Jack Johnson? He passed in 1946.
Why not ? Add Lon Chaney jr wolfman!
Because he died in 1973.
Wonder how long it took to put this video together?
Not as long as it took to do the research for the "Casablanca" video. :)
