I live in Aruba. With sub 125,000 citizens. On an island so small, you can't see it on an Atlas. So famous because of tourism and Xander Bogarts. You can get from coast to coast in under 1 hour. But doesn't matter how small your home country is, what matters is the size of your heart!!!

Thank you for the delightful tour of Sarajevo! The winter Olympics there are still memorable to us oldsters, and the terrible wars that followed in the '90s, unforgettable. Here in the US we rarely hear any news of Bosnia Herzegovina, so it's wonderful to see how your country has recovered and is again beautiful!
The many thoughtful comments left by viewers the world over are almost as interesting as your videos! With all the turmoil here in America and the world, they are refreshing reminders that curiosity, common interests and goodwill still bind us together in the brotherhood of humanity. Thank you for your contributions and please keep the great content flowing! Best wishes from East Tennessee.

You know you're my bro too! Gimme some bromance. You always totally get it. I really try not to think what will get the most views, but try to make the kind of vids I genuinely want to make and the ones that tell some sort of story. The rest are how to videos lol :)

@@d4a No it's not. You have no idea how many of your videos I have watched and enjoyed, and this one was just so special, and I'd never thought about donating until I saw another comment with a donation. So think of it as being divided among 5 or 6 videos at least. Hours of discussion are fueled by the understandings you so cogently present. You have a natural approach as a teacher, that is also reassuring. Be encouraged!

I recently discovered your channel and really liked how you thoroughly explain different concepts in a great detail, but still easy to understand even for people that don't have engineering background. I found your english accent very familiar and googled around to find out where you are from and then found this video. It was a great trip down the memory lane, as I visited Sarajevo 8 years ago on a business trip and fortunately had enough time to visit most of the places you've shown in this video. It also makes me proud that there is such a good educational UA-cam channel (almost a million subscribers at the time of writing) from "our small part of the world". Keep up the good work, and...
Srdačan pozdrav iz Hrvatskog Zagorja 😉

2024 and I have just seen this - like your other videos, inventive, intelligent, good fun with a nice undercurrent of humour. As someone who has never had the chance to visit Bosnia or its neighbours, it was very enjoyable and informative to watch. I live in Melbourne (Australia), not far from a Bosnian mosque, and where we have plenty of Serbs, Croats and Macedonians. Very interesting to see what Sarajevo looks like and have a human history. And a stunning command of english.....

Awesome job! I sold my 89 MR2 on Christmas Eve last year. I found it on a job I was on and it was a one owner low mileage and I asked the lady if she as selling, thinking she would ask $1500 or so. She wanted four grand but it was perfect. I forgot about it but last year I texted her husband and asked if they still had it and they had. When I went to buy it she wanted five grand! Haha, anyway I kept it and drove it a bit but it was a bit small and slow. Handled nice though. I had it advertised for about six months when finally a guy showed up, the lead tech at the local Ferrari dealership. He liked it and now he is the owner
. Sorry for novel, good luck buddy

Driving 4 Answers. Hi-ya Mister 2, a fascinating video, interesting and with facts that I didn't know. For instance: the 3-way cultural split dividing communities by religion? Three prime-ministers?! Three types of architecture?
I remember the 1984 Winter Olympics held in Sarajevo, then part of Yugoslavia, mainly for the gold medal for figure skating won by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean of Great Britain. Everyone here (those who are old enough!) remembers their 'Bolero' dance routine as breathtaking and unique. It broke the record for the largest U.K. television audience - over 20 million - and gained the highest judges' marks ever; many perfect 6.0s for technical and all perfect 6.0s for artistic interpretation.
I was so shocked just eight years later in 1992 to see such a beautiful country ripped apart by war. Ordinary people in a smallish city - as you say - "surrounded by mountains" but back then, mountains filled with artillery and mortars. The Siege of Sarajevo was live on TV every night. Burning high-rise buildings and people just queuing for water or bread being picked out by snipers' rifles.
Your city appears to have recovered remarkably well and nothing now is visible to mark out such a destructive and brutal period. Very clean streets, new buildings, good and well-surfaced roads (hooray for that). It seems hard to believe it ever happened. Perhaps it was all just a bad dream...
Best to you from a well-wisher here in the English countryside of Wiltshire, just a hop, skip and a jump from another historic place that you may know of - Stonehenge.

Thank you so much, lovely video , and it give a little view into your life, a soul burning for automotive technology, I smile as I used to be the same kind, but now old I refuse to touch anything, and realized it's not necessary, bought a used MC 15 years ago Chinese junk, 400 km was all it had driven, believed it wouldn't last, so I refused to spend any money on it, now 15 years later it runs like new, never changed the oil only top up, Changed the chain but not sprocket, and a few light bulbs, brake pads disk that's, it. Boy was I mistaken , start first time every time. Now think oil change are a marketing trick , and not needed, heard Paris taxi never change oil just filter, and top up, and they go 1 million km

Im Polish, born and raised in Sweden, and as a young person, I could pull the "race" card and make my immigrant background a "sensitive" issue. But an economist who I respect a lot, also an immigrant talked about the immigrant/Swedish friction and his opinion was that: us immigrant, shouldnt be too sensitive about subjects like migration, foreign background, or even overt racism. (for non-europeans).
With that said, I understand the question being "irrelevant" to one who lives on the "internet" like driving4Answers does, but I have to repeat what Tino Sanandaji said: dont be too sensitive.
Our origin doesnt change anything about ourselves, people are curious, and its an interesting topic. Obviously this flies in the face of post-modernists, who will go ape-shit when they read my post, but Ive found it to be a very helpful attitude to have.

Do people drink tea in the Balkans?
I don't drink a sip of coffee, only Tea.
And when we went on a holiday trio to France we had to take tea with because the type of tea is not common in other places.
And it's my preferred tea to drink.
Red bush tea is literally the direct translation. And after Googling I found out it only grows in my Country. 😆😅
Normal tea is fine, but I prefer Red bush. It is also considered very healthy, but it might be a old wives tale.

You're reading my mind! I have just one such place I really like and I want to go there with the aw11 and film it :) I've been to the pyramids, honestly I'm still kinda ambiguous about them. Not much to show until they dig more stuff out if you ask me.

I'm skeptical about the Bosnian pyramids as well. You're in a good position to show them because of that. I.E. you don't already have a bias on them, so you can show both sides fairly, credibly. You're supposed to ask what's a Herze donut, then someone punches you in the shoulder and says Herze? Donut? (Hurts don't it.)

Ha! Glad I didn't ask :) Good one tho. I might shoot a vid on the piramyds, but will need some serious lighting gear, it's dark in there. Kinda damp too.

Being finnish myself, I doubted that coffee drinking per capita "guess" so to speak. So I actually checked. According to the "International Coffee Organisation" Finland is number one with 12kg per capita per year. Bosnia and Herzegovina does however come 11th at 6.1kg. I thought you may find it interesting anyhow. Regarding the video, it was quite interesting to learn about Sarajevo. I didn't know much at all. And the government stuff you talked about I can sympathize with, even though Finland probably isn't half as bad! Suppose I should actually be thankful things here aren't even worse off. There's only a couple of cities with architectural history like Sarajevo, atleast ones spanning further than 100 years. It seems like an interesting place!

Thanks for the coffee stats! I never would have guessed Finland is number 1! Amazing. At 12kg it's double of B&H. Is it filtered in Finland? But it doesn't matter if its filtered if they measure in kilos right? Hmmm. I really like these sort of oddball stats as you can see. Thanks for digging it up :) A country with somewhat similar issues when it comes to politics is Belgium as far as I know, there are probably some others out there. Also, the 4age seems to be really alive in Finland? I sold half a dozen of my crankshaft brackets there.

    • @redrevoc
      @redrevoc 6 років тому

Yeah it's filtered coffee over here. I'd say that gives some leeway in comparison to B&H if you have it mostly unfiltered. 4age in Finland is pretty common. We got the AE86 as a zenki coupe model. It is more notably used in rallying over here, and it's known just as a GT Corolla. The AE86 "scene" in Finland is comparable to the UK-spec 86's I suppose. More euro-oriented. I don't think we got any hatchbacks and certainly not truenos, originally. There are some imports in Finland though. And FWD 4age's can be found on the regular. But we never got the 20 valve either. But there are a few importers of engines, drivetrains and cars. Sadly not really parts / wheels or little stuff like that. Not that I know of.

It's called having an open mind. It's a part of my city, my childhood, and thousands of different memories. Wisdom means seeing all the colors of the world and appreciating them all and seeking beauty in all of them rather than imprisoning yourself in a world of black and white, right and wrong. Passing judgements and labeling everything the straightest road to narrow-mindedness

Cool video. I also wondered what cave you live in but that's a pretty nice place. I don't drink coffee because I had a Star bucks coffee once which sent me to the ER and basically shot my blood pressure to the roof. So that's the reason I don't care for coffee myself. Ironically my grandfather was a coffee grower. I'm also there with you on that stamina thing. It sucks because now I can't do much of anything due to the health but still trying to get back to normal. So keep biking it just takes time. My mountain bike is in storage so I know that feeling.
