Playing as a native in EU4 is already a hellish experience, but playing as a native in Australia in EU4 is EVEN WORSE. We're stuck on this continent, waiting for one of EU4 England, EU4 France, EU4 Portugal or EU4 Castile to turn up. I'd take the EU4 Ottomans or EU4 Mamluks at this point. Okay, maybe not but still, join me in the continuation of "The region that NO ONE plays in EU4"
EU4 but you can only wait.

Already played it, and to be honest, I love the Story in this game. ("More" is a Song from League, its worth to listen to at least once)
You know Laith is a couch potato when he ain't a fan of walking 4000 km across a continent just because.
True...
True...
True…
@@scarcapture true...
True...
I really hoped for part two. And now that it's out I want part three. Suffer Laith. Suffer for us
I wanna part 3! Or A Hawaii game. :D
I agree.
to be fair, now things could get really fun. First somehow defend against portugal and maybe build up an empire to rival the europeans and asians.
Antarctica expansion?
This is surprisingly entertaining
Just for anyone who doesn't know. The best way to do the Australians is to stay Migratory until you're at MIL tech 6 and have the final government reform, then you can reform into a Steppe Horde. While you're waiting you fight wars to Show Strength for points and to expand your tribal land.
When you reform into a Horde you get all your Tribal Land as regular land, and you'll be able to develop Institutions, colonise etc.
Thanks for telling me how to play Australia I totally will
A horde... In Australia... Riding Kangaroos?
“Steppe hoard” when theres no steppes or….horses
And to add, instead of using tribal dev to settle provinces, settle on your capital to get more dev and better economy!
Basically, you're playing Civ and you start in the stone age as hunter/gatherer with ZERO knowledge of tech outside that of your own culture's traditions but you somehow have Native American tech which is bizarre because they are way ahead of native Australians tech wise, because you know they're farmers and actually construct buildings. Basically, for all their effort of adding Australian tribes with their religion and mission trees... ultimately it feels like tokenism and the product of a couple of devs with limited access to effectively do anything (basically just game designers and artists) because no one seemed to think this entirely through honestly. Also becoming a horde with no horses is hilarious, I mean where do they get the horses from? Do they ride Kangaroos or Emus or something? ok... lol... nope. Broken imaginary game be broken.
Reminder: Laith has been playing EU4 for a decade, easily has 10,000 hours invested, has played all over the map... and took 25(?) hours to figure out how reforming into horde as a primitive nation (having played primitive nations before btw) works.
In his defence, he's only played primitive nations with actual functioning mechanics before. Skipping things hasn't been *required*.
When you are such a bad neighbor that your neighbors go across the continent to get away from you.
I'm not going to lie. Watching Laith mouse over "trading with Europeans" at the 30-something mark, and lament his ability not to reform caused me physical pain
Glad I'm not the only one
this method is so useful when playing with brazilian/ south american tribes (since this is the first area of european colonization mostly). Laith not using those buildings to boost goods prod and advisor cost reduction is insane, this gameplay sure could be wayyy better (his suffering was funny tho)
benefits of almost exclusively playing natives? the superiority I feel knowing how to play better than laith or any other eu4 UA-camr.
The first 50 years are pretty terrible though to be honest. My latest natives game I put a OPM Mongolian state in South Australia just so I would have SOMEONE to get Feudalism from.
yes! he got so close to figuring out the nonsense natives can get up to if you let them too...
I think you should do this to the end date, really loving this series!!
Hey Lathe, if you want to learn how to play tribes there's this really good series in which the guy plays every nation in eu4 in 1444 with unique national ideas in alphabetical order. It's called EU4 A2Z and the guy is very funny and has a cool mustache
he literally did an april fools collab with him
@@socialistrepublicofvietnam1500It's a joke. He's done a lot more with Redhawk than that one collab.
My god I've been screaming at my screen for you to read the 4th tier reforms (Trading with foreigners reforms you...)
9:47 there better be some colonialism happening later or you were just not paying attention
edit: you are right, he just straight forgot
Laith, brother. It was not us forcing you to suffer. In the last video you already said that you played more and just needed likes to know that we are interested in you releasing it. Suffering in hard challenges is your jarl Hastein.
This is the most I have seen Laith suffered since the Norse faith video, and I am LOVING IT.
This was the best two videos I've ever watched of someone sledgehammering a square peg into a round hole. 10 out of 10, would have formed a hoard.
To add laith suffering when you change into horde you settle your all tribal lands.
As if Laith wasn't suffering enough, he graces us with a second part. Especially the end part where he realizes this could have gone faster as a horde. Well, atleast you can see this as training for american natives or oceanic ones. Samoa could be fun for a colonizing empire.
“1788 horses were... found” as if the aboriginals just discovered the horses wandering the desert and they’d been there the entire time
This is why RedHawk always stays as a small tribe until he reforms
There's a bug where you can use the "Annex Migratory Tribe" war deal on non-primary war participants, even though the "Tribal Border Feud" CB supposedly disables it.
Humiliate Rival CB disallows all kinds of annexations against the primary target, but other states that joined the war can be taken apart. Least thats how it used to work at one point.
I want more. MORE. Make another. This is only the beginning of this ride. Let us revel in madness
I busted out laughing when Laith realized his screw up. Your pain is my Schadenfreude
the lyrics "I would walk 500 miles, and walk 500 more. Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles to fall down at your door " is from the song "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by the Australian band/duo The Proclaimers.
--The name of the album is "Leith" (close, but prob not close enough)
1,000 miles is 1,609 km...
Those ridiculously long retreats were twice as far as the distance referenced in a song that symbolizes going to great lengths... written by Australians....
coincidence? i think not...
australian band??? how?
In this case the sponsor was the most entertaining part of this whole video.
1000/10 would watch again.
In this video, Laith learns the downsides of not reading how mechanics work
I like this Laith, we should see more of him.
Kaurna is actually pronounced Garna as that is the local indigenous people of the Adelaide Plains which is where I have lived all 49 yrs of my life.
What a journey this has been already, thank you laith for making a part 3! I always wondered what true suffering would look like...
Watching Australia break you has been a highlight of my day. You've earned yourself a sub.
I like to imagine that the natives got horses from trading with the Indonesians
I've never seen someone so annoyed at conquering an entire continent within a hundred years.
laith forgetting the trading with foreigners interaction just infuriated me so badly
Oh. Oh Really? You had to wait a few hours, while I've been waiting for 117 days for YOU to play a Fire Emblem game!
I really need him to do this.
Swear allegiance to the paradox
I think you vastly overestimate the demand for that. Fire emblem isn't that popular in the pdx community, the video would just flop
fire emblem sucks so thats a weird thing to want
well he could try a livestream, i played fire emblem before i found crusader kings; when it bombs as you say it will and has less than 3,000 views you'll be double correct, so win win
That's how all of my Australian tribal runs ends: with an attack by Castille.
so we’re all in agreement; we need a part 3
Your horsemen ride Eastern Grey Kangaroos into battle. Those buggers are as big as a man and travel over 60kph. Impossible to fire a bow from the back of though... the jiggle from the jumping.
I want to see you redo this with what you've learned. How far can you take your starting nation?
37:25 - Now this. This right here. This is the content I know and love. This is why I'm a proud subscriber!
Anyway Laith, when is episode 3 coming out?
Laith revived Australia as a penal colony
Penal. Ha!
Imagine the british landing and just being surrounded by millions of Tiwi people
Lets see a proper Australian Native Empire Conquest now that you know how they work.
Watching Laith completely forget about the tier four reform that civilizes you hurt my soul.
I'm Australian, and I will back you up here. Kangaroo cavalry would indeed be horrifying.
I love your intros ! Keep up the good work !
I did play as Palawa to get Australia-Hungary (timelapse video on my channel). It was hell. I had to willingly hand over some of my land so I could reform and move off my island
This would definitely make a great mega campaign
1500's era tribals are well known for their massive banking industries, providing massive loans to the local overlords goin on massive infrastructure and conquest sprees
btw hair generally gets big before it gets long. stay the course
Please make a part 3! This is great!
I'm actually really curious to see this continued. Starting as not even a Zero but like a negative 17.
Horses, prior to 1788 in Australia were known as “kangaroos” 😂
A Mughal ship carrying horses to Vietnam got blown off course and one of the aboriginals found one that washed up on land. There's you headcannon
I barely understood anything, but your name on the map got bigger so you win Yay!
When part 3 we need it hehehehehe
Yes Laith, we enjoy seeing you do painful campaigns.
I love how Laith has no idea what he's doing and neither do I xD
I love the commentary style at the beginning of your video, i think if you did this over the whole video while splicing in real time reactions to gameplay it would be a lot more engaging to watch.
kind of like how commentary channels review movies, like Danny Gonzales.
He also could have done the trading with foreigners reform once the Europeans arrived but he did not see it
the british land in australia except instead of our timeline they find a second tenochtitlan
I need to see another episode of Laith suffering to get that Hungarian subject for the meme.
6:55 There are things called ostriches(Emu's)....my guess being they use those as "horses" xD
You CANNOT ride an emu!!!! They are FAR too weak to carry you and will KILL you the second you try. Stop this stupidity
16:25 literal Australian trail of tears
You have done Tiwi. Next do KIWI!
The Amount Of Suffering You Inflicted The Audience By Not Looking At Tier 4 Reforms Might Just Equal The Amount Of Suffering You Went Trough
For the next video I recommend a USA or South American tribe. Would be funny to watch I think. Did you play before the updates/dlc('s)? I don't think you played any recently.
Yepp, i mentioned about the switching to a horde In the last video haha, shame you’d already made this one. Your suffering was entertaining as always
that primal screech of frustration is universal
Petition to repete the run without settle tribe
Havent watched it yet. I just want to guess: To reform into anything useful you need to border a modern nation. Which is impossible if you've conquered your whole continent.
Edit: Okay, you noticed in time.
Good old EU4 native mechanics.
It would have been soo funny if the memeluks decided to go exploration and went to colonize australia 😂
You deserve a medal to play here. Kudos to you
can we get a true australia run but doing it "right"? PLEASE PART 3
yes we did love more of that and that and we are grateful for ur suffering for our entertainment thank you laith
One of the best videos so far. Play more natives please.
Bro didn't even want to acknowledge that mess in the Americas at the end
"I have no idea what I'm doing"
So normal Laith gameplay then
Bro I just realised that the Australia video was one of your most viewed videos in the past months.
What the actual fuck
Haven't watched the video yet. Has he discovered that you can turn to horde at mil6 and develop institutions?
laith's desire for land is like my desire for crack
Tiwi ironman to stellaris would be pretty memeworthy
i know its a royalty free track but i cant unhear jort storm in the intro
We love your suffering. Since you havent turned into a hord yet
Part 3 let’s fucking goooo I wanna see colonial Australia
Can't wait for the Kamchatka video
I'd much rather conquer all the dessert provinces in this game and develop those than play this region.
The cannons and horses came from stray Malaysian ships. :P
Now we need a Tiwi horde run
Well not going horde made it more difficult for part 3, so at least it will be exciting😈
Why are my adds such good quality but the actual videos are 360p?😭😭😭
You finally found some sea cucumbers down there?
I don't even play eu4
I just like watching people suffering in paradox games
The guy with a beaver on his head.
Why am I sat here watching this playlist of Tiwi @3am, wtf is wrong with me
Now Laith, you say the game is stupid - which it is -, but you not reading the Migratory Tribe thing is definitely 100% your own fault
Play Hawaii next
Or the Maori tribes
YEAH my new fav video
ngl watching someone play boring austraulia after a rough after noon is relaxing
ty for torturing yourself for our entertainment
I'd watch a third episode of this tbh
I think this evidence that Paradox needs to find a way to make Australia actually fun
There's not really a way to make indigenous tribes fun without going wildly ahistorical (which is what we already do).
Those aboriginal horses, they are actually kangaroos
The Drew Durnil experience
