I have played this about fifty times over the past couple of years when I need to settle at night, try to relax and minimize anxiety. When my husband was dying, we said this psalm every night. He was a shepherd of two flocks - real Merino sheep on a farm in Victoria, and then as a pastor of a few flocks for 40 years. Thank you so much. I'd love to record it with someone to be played at my funeral service. (sounds morbid) but not really because of a rich inheritance in eternity. I'm 77 and have outlived my husband by 7 years. I miss him so much.
I looked after my dear old mum who was chronically disabled by a very dense stroke for 25 years and she just loved me bringing my guitar into her bedroom and singing hymns and gospel songs to her. I can fully understand you wanting to record a song for your funeral, I get it completely. Bless you sister in Jesus name and I look forward to meeting both you and your husband in eternity.
Good to see Stuart still doing what he does so well-worship God! It’s a real ministry that the Lord has given him to build up and encourage others. He is musically, vocally and spiritually gifted. I remember singing with him so many years at Clarendon with Dave Fellingham and other wonderfully gifted singers and musicians. Such a blessing to all concerned. Halcyon days. Take care Stuart and may Jesus bless your family. Pete Clarke.
My sister is a lay minister she played this song at my brother in law funeral she did the service i fell in love with this song its a psalm i always say thanks
I thank the Lord for giving Stuart Townend the talent to compose this worship song that inspire me and give me strength during my most difficult time in my life when my mother in -law was seriously sick and now had gone home with the Lord happily'
I just recently happened to hear this song. I don't how many times.i have played this song. Every time I did I could gave thanks to the Lord for his promises and protection . May God bless stuart townend more and more.
I love you Stuart!!! Your souls sings for God truly. The gift you have stirs many souls, I'm sure. God be with you forever. I pray to see you in heaven someday.
I John 2:17 [17]And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Isaiah 40:8 [8]The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.
Love this! Stuart, you did an AMAZING job and whoever that female singer is with you... she was PERFECT! I must say, the number of "views" is a little inflated because I am 334 of them! :)
Who is the female singer who helps lead the singing on this song? Your team leads us directly into a spirit of worship. Thanks to each one who took part in sharing this song with us!
Psalms 112:1-10 [1]Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. [2]His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. [3]Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. [4]Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. [5]A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. [6]Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. [7]He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. [8]His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies. [9]He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor. [10]The wicked will see it and be grieved; He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked shall perish.
PRISE THE LIVING GOD !!! Beautiful ! Just Beautiful ! [ And... just to make the picture complete : there's someone in the background that is NOT part of Praise - seemingly out of the Spirit ; *completely* out of the Spirit - not singing, not partaking, instead, fiddling with her mobile phone ( !!! ) during the song-worship. ( You do NOT reach God Allmighty with the phone regardless of what you're texting or what number you're trying to call ). I'm not judging you, but it sure looks offensive. ] *Stuart ! Thank you brother , for your warming service !*
I feel sorry for the woman behind, who spent the entire time typing on her phone. She missed an amazing time of beautiful worship. I don’t think mobile phones should be on the platform, especially not being used during service.
or looking up a bible verse. or checking a greek lexicon. or looking at the conference schedule, because she needs to get home to her kid. be charitable, sister - we've all been there! :)
Dorothy Holfeld the only word missing from the Bible verse is the word "shall". Verse: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Song: The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want. I don't see any different meaning.....
To be honest, I hadn't noticed her before I read your comment. But, is it possible that she isn't texting? Maybe she has poor eyesight and cannot read the screen at the venue. At my last church, and at a conference where I volunteer, we have many such people and we provide different solutions depending on their individual needs. Some need to have a screen (iPhone or iPad) up close so that they can see what almost everyone else sees normally.
@michelle thank you for your words. They were spoken by God’s grace alone. I’ve had to learn, and am still learning, not to judge people without all the facts.
As I said above, she may have been looking up a scripture, or checking a Greek lexicon, or just looking at the conference schedule, because she needs to know when to get home that night to her kid or sick husband. We don't have all the details - so we err on the side of charity.
Rayan Agarm shame to people who insist on condemning others for made up reasons to suit their own smallness of mind. Do you really think he has a head covering as defined by scripture. Maybe you feel you have reached perfection but if you have. not know that you will be judged with the judgement you yourself make. 1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? - Matthew 7:1-3
@@skyt54 Are you judging others for judging? Bit of a self-refuting statement. 😆 Scripture often commands us to "judge with right judgement " Incidentally, you'd do well to read the entire passage in Mathew 7 in proper context. It's not telling us not to judge. It's telling us how to judge! Christ made some of the most scathing judgements in all of scripture (in fact, so did the NT writers)...and rightly so. But don't take my word for it! Be extremely careful not to cherry pick verses to accommodate our own presuppositions. Good biblical exegesis doesn't work like that, I'm afraid. We should draw the correct interpretation out of scripture rather than reading our meaning into it.

Beautiful song on all levels, and actually quite curious whom the choir singer was texting at 2:22?

Is there sheet music out for this rendition yet? He must be using altered tunings? DADGAD?

totally agree..
I quite agree. I hope she watched afterwards and felt embarrassed.
😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏
saw no woman texting in the background either
2:17 she might of been responding to an important message.

I would prefer if this updated version would not make it sound like I do not want the Lord as my Shepherd.

Just perform the hymn/song...stop directing and controlling people.
He's not performing. He's leading worship and teaching the song. He is a real worship leader.
