JPJ is my all time favorite bassist. This track is so lively i always had trouble hearing his specific parts during the guitar solos

Unfortunately it also didn't help that Jimmy muffled the bass half of the times

@@erickefrain73 The life of a bassist. Whenever I play bass on a track I'm always having to tell the guitarist and/or singer, "Turn the bass up!"

Bonhams alternating patterns of snare, kick, HH is amazing. Stunning to hear it isolated. Locked in with Jones is sonic heaven. Its obvious in this that remove one member and Zeppelin could not exist as they were.

always wondered how would Physical Graffiti sound like if recorded with either the Stones' mobile (instead of Ronnie Lane's), or perhaps at a proper studio. Munich's Musicland, for example. it just would've been so much brighter and clearer, tone and frequency wise. there was a lot of lost subtlety in PG, unfortunately, I'm afraid. epic tracks like Kashmir; it was recorded with both the Mellotron and a real orchestra, blended, in those cascades. you can still hear the brass shining above the strings, at the metal section. but it gets kinda jammed at the final mix. mostly because the quality of the recordings themselves were poor. PG sounds many times like worked out demos, to my ears. but it's nevertheless a superb album, in so many ways.

Yes! I love the songs and the album as a whole, but the mix is very flat to me. As you said, almost like a high quality demo. I know Jimmy Page did not like the 4's mix came out. I know the first mix in the states was a disaster and they had to remix in London, I believe.
