- Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter Fraser T. Smith joins Dave and Herb on the 238th episode of Pensado's Place. Probably best known for co-writing, producing, and mixing Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain", Fraser has worked with a wide range of artists that includes SAM SMITH, Leona Lewis, Kaiser Chiefs, Taio Cruz, Lilly Allen, Ellie Goulding and more.

Thank you guys so much for interviewing Frasier, such a great surprise! When I first came across his songs with Craig, I was 19 and was fascinated by his guitar riffs because it was so beautiful and like nothing I had heard before. Eventually I ended up learning all of his riffs by ear note for note and his style still influences my compositions till this day. I teach guitar once a week as well passing on bits of the Frasier T. Smith style to my students :) When I learned that he was getting more involved in production a seed was planted which eventually led me to go to school for music production at Metalworks Studios in Toronto. I have eternally grateful to such a talented and humble man. Please send him my greetings from Canada.
Considering this is a show precisely about music and audio and stuff, did no one notice the intro voiceover desperately needed a pop-filter? Seriously?

It's just in these two latest ones (in the new location, and with the new intro animation), so i'm guessing the voice-over got re-recorded too.

IRC IV on transient, fast setting, with transient emphasis on max Is Insane. I was able to go up to -4LUFS with out it sounding like distorted crap (has some ,but compared to using anything else sounds clean). -3LUFS is where it starts sounding bad as well as -2LUFS. Hopefully a loud mastering engineer doesn't read this and masters a song that loud because they can get away with it lol. That was just to test IRC IV and see how good it is.

Am I the only one NOT on the Ozone bandwagon? I dunno what it is, but I just don't get the hype. I love the RX suite and their Iris synth, but Ozone for me just doesn't cut the mustard.
