I have never commented on UA-cam before but I just have to say that I started watching the race with my 6yo because of you and we have been cheering you on every week! I think your mutual respect for one another is what made the difference and was so magical to watch that each week. We have had a blast, I literally was crying when you won and am hoping you set out a camera to capture your kids watching this! My adhd daughter now loves her superpower and I appreciate your transparency with anxiety and your ability to articulate the experience as well. Congrats to an amazing couple!!
OH MY GOSH!!!! Y'ALL DID IT!!! Way to Represent!!!! I am a fan from the beginning of this race and already knew of you from UA-cam and that Y'all were from NC! I am so proud of you both you ran the race and played it honest! Thank you for being strong and facing your fears. This has been one of my favorite seasons ever!! I cried and cheered when you got the puzzle right and you went through the tunnel!
Yaaay, I’ve been checking all day for this recap! I’m actually going to be really bummed when the show is over because I’ve enjoyed it sooooo much! Love you guys so much and it’s actually amazing to see how well you compliment each other as a couple - I think you both give the other person exactly what they need, even if they don’t always realize they need it. You both are doing so great and I hope there’s lots more navigation because I think you guys really pull ahead with your navigating skills! Loved it all and am rooting for you to win the whole show! Kim and Penn, you both have great poker faces because I’ve been trying to get a read on whether or not I think you won based on your expressions and mood and I can’t tell a damn thing 🤣
Kim and Penn - thank you so VERY much for taking the time and effort to shoot and edit these post-race podcasts. This is the first season of TAR I have watched and it has been a total joy to follow your journey. I'm a fan of you two for life.
I’m usually not one for analyzing story arcs or “edits” on reality shows like TAR or Survivor, but just thinking about the fact that the show has portrayed Penn’s ADHD and Kim’s anxiety in a more positive/non-critical light than you normally see in media has me somewhat optimistic going into the finale.
Kim, props to you for being strong enough to even admit that Anxiety has the ability to put you down, but strength is found in choosing to face the challenge anyway! 💪 ❤️
@@holdernessfamilylaughs - Just one of the many reasons why I respect you both so very much. To begin your Amazing Race podcast bearing in mind the crisis in Ukraine speaks to your character. Much admiration to you for that. You inspire perhaps more than you may even be aware. There is a reason why you have done so very well up until this point in the race and my deepest hope is that you are first on that finish mat next week. Best wishes!
Congratulations Penn and Kim!!!!!!! I rooted for you both the whole time, first time I connected with anyone on the race and your win was so deserved!!! You helped so many through the pandemic and that's when I actually discovered your family and the smiles you gave through it all and the love and kindness and warmth and how close as a family that you are which really comes through in all of your videos and helped so many, including me, from feeling as alone as they would have otherwise felt. You both are my all time favorites and not just in the race! I couldn't be happier for you both!!!!!!!!!!
This is the first time in decades I've watched the Amazing Race. Did so because you two were racing! Watching the final, with my best friend, last night--who only watched because of you two as well--we cheered you on, were thrilled to see you do well and I did tear up a little when you crossed thru to the finish line. All the teams were interesting--but it was the Holderness-ness that pulled us back in. CONGRATULATIONS and hope the pay-off makes a positive and long lasting difference in your family's quality of life. You restored my pride in the best of Southern nature, thank you.
Kim, you say “I don’t think I would help someone at this stage either” but you DID. You showed the guys what the coin looked like and just because you found your coin, doesn’t mean you were free and clear yet soooo. Not that the girls were being “jerks” but you should give yourself credit where credits is due. I’m am so incredibly impressed with you two!!!
I have to say that this has been one of the best groups of people on The Amazing Race. When Ryan had Dusty take a brake and just enjoy the view was so touching. I was so excited that his was a non elimination leg as that rock challenge would have randomly sent somebody home for being unlucky. You guys are doing great and I enjoy these recaps very much. Thanks,
I had to stop the video 1 minute in to tell y'all that while there's so much crisis in other parts of the world--not to mention here in Canada and the US--your Amazing Race podcasts are such a breath of fresh air. They are entertaining and the near hour always go by so fast. Thank you for the distraction. 😊 Okay back to hitting "play" again!
It is truly wonderful that you guys sharing. Penn you sharing your ADHD and Kim you sharing your anxiety. So many people have these issues as well and both of you shining a light on these struggles is wonderful! Thank you! You both are amazing!
Great job on your post Amazing Race coverage! You’ve mentioned how INTENSELY you both prepared for the race - studying past seasons' footage; watching/reading vlogs from previous participants; agreeing on race strategies; physical training etc. I’d love to hear you discuss: 1) how much impact your preparations BEFORE the race contributed to your overall performance; 2) how your preparations compared to what other teams may have focused on; and 3) what you’d do differently (or the same) if you were invited to participate again.
What I love about this season is that everyone is concentrated on their game. There hasn't been petty drama and THANK GOD there's no team with a whiny girl. I'd be okay with literally any of the teams winning, but I'm rooting for the Holdernesses.
My mom had to have emergency surgery today for a bowel blockage. I have friends near Ukraine I haven't heard from in 24 hours. Sincerely, thank you for posting this podcast. I desperately needed something that was familiar and comforting, and I remembered this was up. It's given me some much needed escape for an hour and you both always make me smile. 💜
My heart broke seeing everyone struggle but I'm so glad you all made it through. And your "we love Jesus but we cuss a little" made me laugh and, um, same.
There are so many things you say to help me through me days!! As a mom dealing with anxiety, there is something each week that helps me get through my week. The other week it was about what a “normal” person would feel or do. I tried to keep that mindset that week (and beyond). Now, I’m going to internalize- “I’m doing the best I can!” Thank you for the motivation and the openness to help so many with all of our personal traits!
But Kim still showed Arun and Dusty what the coin looked like. You ARE competitive BUT also loving and caring people!!!! Love how Kim said to "Socrates" that she loves his work!
I am sooooooo happy for the two of you for winning The Amazing Race!!! Congratulations! The way you guys ran the race was so impressive. You balanced each other out so well. You always supported each other and were always cheering each other on. Even when things got really tough and stressful for either of you, the other was there to cheer each other on and you were very patient and loving to each other constantly. You were the epitome of what teamwork should be. We were rooting for you from the first episode and cheered you on the whole way! And you set a new record as being the oldest couple to win. First of all, you guys are not "old"! You just happened to be older than the other competitors (although you did not look older than a few of the other competitors). You proved that no one should feel too old to do anything they dream of. Congratulations again. I am so proud of you! And I'll bet your kids are super proud of you as well! Many blessings to you and your family.
The fact that you were struggling so much with anxiety before this leg even began makes the fact that you not only made it through the day but also finished the tasks and got to the right places particularly impressive, Kim!!!!! You are seriously amazing to make that happen and not crumble and give up entirely!
@@holdernessfamilylaughs But you made it there! It's like running a marathon and then collapsing! Give yourself some grace, Kim! There's a time to run and there's a time to collapse.
@@holdernessfamilylaughs I do recognize you cannot be forced to not be anxious, Kim. Anxiety cannot be eliminated by the will of any individual, at least not in my life. Even so, may you find peace in your anxious thoughts, by the grace of God.
I follow you guys on your UA-cam channel. When I found out you guys were going to meet on amazing race I was so excited that a team from Raleigh North Carolina was on there. I just saw the episode where you guys won amazing race. Kim is Penn is right I suffer from anxiety too you have shown a lot of people that we can accomplish anything. Thank you guys for all you’ve done. The videos you’ve put out during the pandemic and showing people who have anxiety or ADHD can be can be amazing at whatever they want to accomplish. You guys are really helped a lot of people get through this pandemic and show people by winning amazing race there anything is possible. You’ve made Raleigh North Carolina very proud. Lee
Hi Kim and Penn. I thought the exact same thing as your Mom. How come when you came first, you never left first on your own, but always with another team, but when Raquel and Keila were in first place, they left on their own. That was not right. So, I'm glad in the end you won! You combined intelligence with physical strength. Yes, you had both. You may be over 40, but you are fit. Greetings from Guatemala. I love your 80s parodies and the Amazing Race. When I heard you were going to be on the show I was double excited. Watching you on the show was awesome. So well deserved.
I just saw the finale and my kids and I screamed and jumped for joy as you entered the stadium as winners! My husband was also crying with joy...me too. You inspire us!!
I never watch the Amazing Race. I skipped through the bits that weren't the two of you and the kindness you show through the challenges, the love you have for one another, and the win!!! Congratulations to you both for such a wonderful time in your lives. It is quite a legacy you have.
When Ryan & Dusty were taking that breather at the top, they showed the goddess in the chair; and that’s when I wondered if she were giving clues. I know she changed hand positions several times, but the way her right hand was almost like pointing and the fact she was there the whole time moving instead of on the side, like in other roadblocks where you’d just bring them the clue, made me wonder. Not that it helps now, but if anyone is considering doing the race, maybe something to note. Sorry you had such a rough time on this one, Kim. Your balanced partnership is an inspiration though. Love rooting for you.
You really did well on the stone-turning challenge, Kim! TAR repeatedly doing the "someone's screwing up" sound on last night's episode was pretty hilarious! I agree, Ryan really provided wonderful support for Dusty. Truly amazing to see how he helped Dusty pull through that terribly difficult challenge.
This episode was both fascinating and tough to watch. I definitely feel for all of you with how physically and emotionally draining that task looked. That said, it did bring out some different sides to people that humanized them and made y’all seem like more well rounded persons. It’s probably because I’ve been watching your recaps and hearing more about your thought processes and feelings, but I could definitely see a Kim shutdown after the stones similar to the one after the bungee jump. They’ve really put you through the wringer! But you’re all so enjoyable to watch! Rooting for you two in the finale next week 😊
You are both my favs and I am rooting for you. I was screaming when Kim found the coin (SO happy!)!! But I was crying tears of happiness when Ryan and Dusty were not eliminated. Watching Dusty in tears and mentioning his son really showed a side of him that we needed to see as an audience. They TOTALLY deserve to be in the finals and I am so happy they get to stay in the race. Can't wait to see the finale. Congratulations to you, Kim and Penn. You guys have played an absolutely AMAZING game each week and have been a blast to watch! Love you both!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I love you guys. We both are middle aged parents with ADHD and I have anxiety on top of it and we really appreciate you bringing awareness to both conditions and the fact you’re kicking ass as the remaining middle aged couple.
I just want to say how much I love watching you and Penn work through these challenges together. You are both such beautiful people. I will be ordering your book in search of some of your nuggets of wisdom and strategies for a healthy and collaborative union together. when Penn cried as you bungee jumped, that sealed the deal for me. You both know each other so well. Bravo to you both! Win or no win, in my opinion, you are the winners based on your special union. A million dollars won't change that.
The philosopher at the end was Diogenes of Sinope. He was an eccentric man from around 400 BC and is known as one of the founders of Cynicism, an ancient Greek school of thought that promoted virtue and living naturally, without desires for wealth and social status. Alexander the Great sought him out and when he approached him, Diogenes told him he was standing in his sun light.
I only watched these weeks of the Amazing Race because the two of you were in it, and I must say everyone was so great and CONGRATULATIONS on your winning!
I haven't watched The Amazing Race in many years, but when you guys announced it I was in! It's still a great show and I've enjoyed watching every team this season! We are rooting for your family, but I might have teared up a bit when the boys hit the finish line and Phil gave them the news. Thank you for the recaps! I've learned so much from them!
My theory was if someone directly asked the oracle lady she would have ever so slightly pointed to the side with all the coins. She did this pointy thing with her finger sometimes and we thought maybe that was to point to the side where all the coins were, thus narrowing it down by half. Do you think that was an intent that no one figured out? They kept showing her do that thing with her hands & kept showing all the coins on one side.
I deal with both adhd and severe anxiety. I live that you talk about these things. You can have these issues and live a full life and do super cool things and seeing you do it and just talk frankly about it is inspiring
Kim, thank you for your honesty about what anxiety feels like to you! To know that you, a beautiful, successful business woman and loving mother, also have days where you struggle getting in the shower… it makes me feel seen somehow. And not alone. And it gives me hope about having career goals even though I have rough days which I used to think was self sabotage before I understand and had a name for my anxiety. When the episode started and I could see in your face something that looked familiar, I mentioned it to my husband. And knowing that rock challenge was coming up, my heart hurt for you. You did amazing! You are a great example to many, especially those of us with similar struggles. I joke about y’all being my best friends because since the beginning of the pandemic you’ve been with me through your videos and books and non the race. And this video now is a sweet reprieve for heavy hearts at the war being waged against Ukraine.
I can't wait for your new podcast. My 8 year old autistic son is now obsessed with the Amazing Race because of you guys and tonight he got to stay up late for the finale. He was jumping on the bed yelling at the TV trying to help you guys out for the last few challenges. I was amazed by the facts that he knows (thanks UA-cam) but he was so excited and thrilled that his "friends" won!!!! We discovered your channel during Covid and we love your family. It's tough us to have more fun together as a family. But I don't know how to explain to him that you guys probably won't be on next year lol. I'll save that til next year as you never know they could do a fan favorite winners vs. the fans........
Great show, guys. Penn mentioned odds talking about the stones thing. Here's another way to think about the odds in that challenge. Warning: Math ahead. Proceed at your own risk. There were 5,000 rocks, and 4 coins. So each rock has a 4996/5000 chance of being empty. So your odds of missing twice in a row is (4996/5000) ^ 2. The odds of ten misses in a row are (4996/5000) ^ 10. And so on. So if you're the producer planning the leg, one of the questions you're going to ask is how many rocks you expect each team to have to turn over. Since you can't know for sure (since luck is a huge factor), you might run the equation above to see when (4996 / 5000) ^ X approaches 50-50. Because of the X is too high, you might think about adding more coins to the challenge to get to 50-50 sooner. So what is the X? With 4 coins and 5000 rocks, if you run the challenge a large number of times the first team finished would average turning over 866 rocks. Not great, but not terrible. Once they finish, there are 3 coins and 4,999 rocks. You would expect the second team out to have turned over 1,155 rocks. Now you have 2 coins and 4,998 rocks. The third team, then, is turning over (on average) 1,732 rocks. Then you have the poor people who have only one rock with a coin, and 4,996 rocks that don't have one. Their X is 3,463 rocks. And half of the time, they'll need more than that. Now here's the thing. I don't think they did this math, because if they had, they would have found that starting with 7 coins means the average first-place team ends up flipping over 500 rocks while the average last-place team flips over 900. Those numbers strike me as closer to "tough but fair" than "potentially maiming."
THIS! I feel like they could have "leveled" the game a bit just by adding an extra coin or two. It was already challenging enough that it was embedded on the underside of a rock, instead of left on the ground when the rock was lifted.
i actually grew up going to right where you started in the last episode every summer! my mom and i were so so excited to see that you guys were there. I am from the Balkans and love when AR goes anywhere close to there. we’re rooting for you guys!! my close friend lives in Ukraine. my heart is breaking for their country! Kim, I love how you address your anxiety. You don't complain, but address it calmly. we've been fans of you guys for years!
Thank you for providing a “mental break” from the horrors going on in the Ukraine. Go #TeamHolderness! “I’m doing the best I can” are words to live by! I wish I could go to FL for the finale party next week!!!
That’s so sweet😊 my 5 year old gets very annoyed with Ryan and Dusty! He was telling Dusty to “stop yelling and jumping around and just go get the clue from the lady”.😂
I understand you guys feel conflicted about talking about "a game show" when there are more serious things going on in the world. But so much of what is goin on in the world is outside of our control, and you are adding joy and a sanity break to so many people. Thank you!!! Please know that your work is a blessing and very much appreciated.
I look forward to these recaps as much as the show; thanks for doing these! Morning podcasts seem easier for you than after the show airs too ;) You are such role models for handling the stress of life with humor and grace, and I'm so thankful the world gets to laugh and learn from you
It was really nice, actually. One of the nicer ones of the time on the race. Huge room with a big bathroom. When you can’t leave the room due to Covid protocols all that stuff becomes more important.
When Kim talked in the episode about how they play the sound, and then they played the sound when her hand hit the rock, I just laugh-cringed in frustration for you. You guys have such a good relationship though and that keeps shining through. It’s clear you’ve done a lot of work to make it that way. Also totally not a criticism as I think a lot of folks of our generation make this mistake, and I appreciated you guys acknowledging it, but when Penn talked about what’s going on in the world, he said “the Ukraine.” But it’s just “Ukraine.” “The Ukraine” refers to Ukraine as a Soviet territory, so you can see why Ukrainians dont like that, especially right now. Again, not a criticism, just sharing info for those who might not know.
I never watched the show before you were on. Now I get so excited for Wed night and the Thursday recaps. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself when it's over! 🤣
I agree. I have never watched The Amazing Race until Penn & Kim announced they were contestants. Now that the season is over, I have no more recaps to watch. I love hearing all the behind-the-scenes or off-camera stuff. It's been a fun season! 😊
I have never watched The Amazing Race before. I am only watching it because of the 2 of you being on it. I tell my kids "I KNOW them" even though I don't really KNOW you in real life. I have truly enjoyed watching this and will likely watch the next season because of you. Your Post-podcasts explain everything to me and I feel invested in the outcome. I too did not want this to be an elimination round because the team that was running last was so capable and the rock flipping task was horrible. When I saw the location of the coins I thought that was sneaky. I would have spread out from the other contestants just because I would have placed the coins in all quadrants. I found myself yelling at the screen when Akbar kept saying his knees were giving out "Slow down! You have to get there and if you break your leg you are done!" Looking forward to the conclusion next week.
It was great that Kim didn't find the first coin. Would have made it seem TOO EASY. The show portrayed her strength in the face of futility wonderfully, And there was a lesson learned from her perseverance. Dusty's personal battle and Da Boy's human support of each other was inspiring.
My kids and I have been watching together on the CBS app (it's unlocked a week and a half later) since it airs past their bedtime. I've been watching on Wednesday nights but my persistent oldest child has to know who came in first and who was eliminated on Thursday morning. Because of that I'm not watching the finale until it's unlocked so we can all find out the ending together. (Hopefully I will miss all the spoilers!) We're pulling for you!
@@holdernessfamilylaughs and @Jess M Was she kind of pointing to the correct side where the last coin was for Dusty? Maybe just a coincidence. 🤔Great job, Team Holderness!🥰
I love how open you both are about your anxiety and ADHD and how they affect you, because it's not the same for everyone. You admire your communication and understanding of each other! #RelationshipGoals! Thank you for being you!
I have never watched TAR before, but I watched every episode of this season only because you were on. I was so happy to watch y'all every week because you worked together and were so supportive of each other. There were some who picked at each other and tore each other down the whole way and it showed by their eliminations. Congratulations on your win, you deserved it!
I loved Kim’s comment on her aim to get on the production side of the Amazing Race! I think it would be incredibly exciting yet a lot of hard work. It would be really cool to see what they do in planning and working with the various chambers of commerce (as Penn mentioned briefly with the map situation), getting filming permits, etc etc. And the editing (ask the WRP folks to tweet on #TimelineTuesdays!) Thanks once again for the entertaining and educational recap, and I look forward to your TARCON33 edition!
Smashing plates was the perfect Detour to put after a Roadblock from hell like that. Free stress relief for everyone! Maybe it's just the person I am, but I always feel bad for the judge waiting at the other Detour when nobody picks it.
Since in the old stories the Oracle of Delphi said things that weren't straightforward in their meaning, I wondered if there was some kind of clue in what she said. Nope, just turn over all the rocks. My back and knees hurt just watching y'all. "I'm a big fan of your work" made me laugh so much a family member looked at me like I'd lost my mind.
If I already wasn’t a fan, your appearance on amazing race would have made me one. Favorite racers ever. Appreciate the respect you show for each other and everyone you are in contact with. Who knew I could laugh so much watching the Amazing race. The one liners are fantastic.
Oh my gosh you both were amazing! I dont know how you survived those rocks. Everytime they made the "terrible sound effect" and showed how close you were to those rocks I like wanted to cry for you. Also your plate smashing technique was way better than everyone elses. I am really wishing you the best of luck in the finale!
Love you both on the race and really appreciate your recap each week. Really loved last week with your kids. I wish the Finale Watch Party was in Hollywood, California not Florida so I could have met you! Good luck! Oh and it's very fitting that you are tied with Ryan and Dusty for Average Placement both at 2.22 (Raquel & Cayla at 3.0; and Arun & Natalia at 5.6) Can't wait for next week's Finale!!
I love these recaps. Great to hear your perspectives to those of us couch watching and yelling at you to grab that rock! BTW...Penn, I just ordered that T-shirt for my hubby! LOVE it!
Thank you guys for just being you! We have a young grandson who has ADHD He is such a smart, loving and handsome young man. It makes this old pawpaws heart feel better knowing that with the right attitude and a lot of love and work he will be just fine. I’ve watched your videos since early on and I was so happy to hear you all wound be on AR. Thanks again.
You both are amazing, but your couple power is super awesome. Whether you win the race or not (I do hope you win), watching your interaction with each other under pressure is inspirational. I loved it Kim when you told the Oracle to keep doing her thing.
I don’t know if anyone else felt this way but my knees were hurting in sympathy for Kim while watching last night. Along with everyone else here, I love these recaps you guys do
We have LOVED watching you guys on The Amazing Race and your Recap Podcasts have made the whole thing even more fun! (You have rocked it and are so inspiring!) We can't watch the finale until Friday night so until then, I'll be like Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother with the "Sensory Deprivator 5000" :)
OMG! Congratulations for winning the Amazing Race!!! I am so happy for you and your family! I look forward to seeing your blog of the Champions tomorrow. 😁 It was inspiring watching you two work together as partners and a team!
I watch TAR anyway, but when I started watching the first episode from this season and saw Kim and Penn I literally squealed. Normally I wait until the season is over and binge it all at once, because I don't like waiting, but this time I have watched every week because I absolutely love them!
From what I’ve seen on the extras clips and comments of videos online, a very large percentage this season are watching as first-timers (like me) because of Kim & Penn.
Can I ask a silly question? Me and my wife were discussing as a curiosity question, when you were in hotel and you had a choice on where to stay was there restrictions on if you can look at the internet or not during the race. Also, I have really bad anxiety and face a lot of depression and I appreciate your journey and completely get the do the best I can and that being good enough cause personally it’s overwhelming. I also suffer the anger issues that Dusty has that I can so relate with as well with my 2 kids. Thx for discussing everything , it’s therapeutic for me and nice to listen
They talked about this in one of their other eps - I think the one about episode 1 or 2? they say they looked up stuff in the hotel about downtown London that ended up not being useful
Aloha Kim and Penn! You guys are so great! I don't usually watch The Amazing Race, but when I saw you were on it my wife and I watched every minute of it. We both had tears in our eyes when you won. Congratulations!!! You and your family deserve it! Rex from Hawaii.
I've been loving cheering you on this season! I wanted to give Kim a hug after she found the gold coin under the rock. I could totally empathize with the "Let's get the *bleep* outta here..."
You are my favorites and I want you to pull this off; we have been watching & rooting for you all season. That said, the last four teams are all extremely likable and I am here for all of it. Thanks for all the behind-the-scenes stuff. As fans of the show, it's been cool to learn some of this stuff I'd always wondered about.
hi there if you are past watches of TAR you might remmember there was this challenge where the contestants had to unroll huge bales of hay. one couple of runners spent all day doing the task, we watched as it get dark, kim you did so well at the task. hope you two win the race.
You guys are remembering Team Guido! They got wine, and a fancy meal while in Paris, which was hilarious when they chopped in clips of other teams miserable sleeping on the street. They were ahead though! They didn't go home that leg I don't think. Anyways. Fantastic leg this time, I cheered so loud when Kim found the coin. I am so excited that I get to root for you during the finale!
I never thought about -always- doing self-drive legs would be exhausting doing it day after day after day. It's not often I hear something unique after 33 seasons. Thanks for the TAR recap content as always! -- TARstorian.
I watch the amazing race since the very first season and it’s one of my favorite shows! I happen to follow you about a year and a half ago and was so excited to see you and knew you’d be a strong team! You both showed what a good relationship looks like and to be respectful to each other and have fun and I’m so happy that you won! You did make me a little nervous at the end though😆💕💕💕
You guys! I know that was a really tough leg mentally and physically but you did great! You should be so proud. But you both looking so glum at the end of this pod is making me nervous for next week! The way Kim said you gotta make it through… sounded ominous 😯 Can’t wait to see the finale. Hope you guys win everything!
I have watched many seasons of Amazing Race, but this one has been the best! Mainly because of you guys, but also the combination of teams this year. just a great bunch of people!
Wow! So I never watch the amazing race because well it’s so stressful.. I turn on my tv during the part one of the finale and I see u guys and screamed OMG I FOLLOW THEM ON UA-cam!!! and here I am completely stressing out watching you both try to win this thing. You are so much calmer than I’d be! Great job so excited for you!!! GOOD LUCK!! I’m a huge fan of yours.
I love how real y’all are with your struggles, which so many of us struggle with as well. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into living with anxiety day to day.
The fact that the Amazing Race production decided to be a little trolly with the sound right after Kim talked about it was definitely one of the highlights of the episode
I see that driving and navigation are stressful but I do not miss the taxi interactions at all. My partner won’t watch AR anymore because of the yelling at cab drivers. I didn’t enjoy hearing the yelling and (often) rudeness.
Exactly my thoughts into words.
OH MY GOSH!!!! Y'ALL DID IT!!! Way to Represent!!!! I am a fan from the beginning of this race and already knew of you from UA-cam and that Y'all were from NC!
I have been waiting all day, too.
Me too!!! I've so enjoyed these past few weeks!!!
Kim and Penn - thank you so VERY much for taking the time and effort to shoot and edit these post-race podcasts. This is the first season of TAR I have watched and it has been a total joy to follow your journey. I'm a fan of you two for life.
Thank you so much for following our journey and for the love.
@@jackcroley9004 They said on Twitter it would be tomorrow.
Thank you. It was a rough day before the challenge even started.
Okay back to hitting "play" again!
Sending prayers to all!
We’re praying for you all ❤️
My heart broke seeing everyone struggle but I'm so glad you all made it through.
I crumbled when we got back to the hotel.
@@holdernessfamilylaughs 😔
Sadly my wife didn't even understand why I was being so loud. Oh well.
Congratulations Amazing Race Winners! My family was cheering for you the entire series. So proud of you both!
I can’t even remember the last time a race aired that I truly enjoyed “all” the contestants! You 2 brought me great joy! 💜
Same
My theory was if someone directly asked the oracle lady she would have ever so slightly pointed to the side with all the coins. She did this pointy thing with her finger sometimes and we thought maybe that was to point to the side where all the coins were, thus narrowing it down by half. Do you think that was an intent that no one figured out? They kept showing her do that thing with her hands & kept showing all the coins on one side.
I had that same thought!
I was thinking the same thing
“It’s like a spa… If this was the worst spa ever” 😂🤣😂 I know you work hard at it, but your relationship is amazing.
Wow!!! You are Penn’s math soulmate here.
i actually grew up going to right where you started in the last episode every summer! my mom and i were so so excited to see that you guys were there.
I'm glued to the TV (and answering comments here) and my heart is breaking.
Just bought my tickets and I'm so excited to go see the finale with a lot of the racers!!!
@@holdernessfamilylaughs I'm taking a much needed break as I watch this recap.
Next week is the last episode?
@Life with Krystle Yes; two-hour finale, starting at 8 p.m. ET.
My sweet 5 yr old comes into my room with tears in his eyes and said he prayed for Ryan and Dusty to not get kicked out. 😄 Prayers answered.
That’s so sweet😊 my 5 year old gets very annoyed with Ryan and Dusty! He was telling Dusty to “stop yelling and jumping around and just go get the clue from the lady”.😂
OMG!!!!!! WHAT???!!!!! Congrats!!!! I was only watching the show to see you two. So, so excited for you! Congrats again!
You are so right about Ukraine. We knew this but it’s a generational slip. Thank you for the correction!
My wife and I have followed you guys for years.
This episode we were holding our breath.
NC REPRESENT!
"I'm a fan of your work". Kim, how did you keep a straight face... I couldn't stop laughing... Love you guys!
I had become unhinged.
Thank you for including the clips, for us who haven't seen the episode.
It was Arun, but yea. I have terrible knees and he had all my sympathy during that
I asked my husband why you didn't pile them up, and then I said "Oh, I wonder if there was a rule against it". Thanks for confirming that there was!
The Amazing Race isn't going to let it be easy.
I felt sorry for the actress playing the oracle. Four hours saying “leave no stone unturned” and waving her arms. Brutal
I know : )
Same… I wanted her to just tell him where it was so she and the musicians could get outta there. lol
@@holdernessfamilylaughs and @Jess M Was she kind of pointing to the correct side where the last coin was for Dusty? Maybe just a coincidence. 🤔Great job, Team Holderness!🥰
That’s what I thought too!
What about the harp player?!? Her fingers must have been bleeding after 4 hours
So Proud of Dusty after that challenge. It takes a strong man to admit the dark place they've been in a "past life" I wanted to cry for all of you.
Smashing plates was the perfect Detour to put after a Roadblock from hell like that. Free stress relief for everyone! Maybe it's just the person I am, but I always feel bad for the judge waiting at the other Detour when nobody picks it.
I know!!! I mentioned that in the recap. I feel bad for the guy.
Awesome KIM & PENN-Just saw the final 👍🏻😘Only watched for yous-was a fan and I am also old!
My first time watching AR because of YOU GUYS ! Have watched your UA-cam for years and just love and laugh 😃 so proud MY guys are doing so well👍
Thank you so much for following us on the race.
Correct
For future reference, the acronym is TAR. Hope you'll use it for many seasons to come. :)
I loved Penn's song at the plate breaking
"This was fun but now it su- oh we found it! This was fun but now it sucks-"
You guys are just the best. Thanks for the acknowledgement during the intro. I am a fan for life! #teamholderness
I don't normally watch this show in recent years but am glued to the TV and computer to keep up - love following fellow North Carolinians.
Thank you so much. Isn't it a great show?
If I already wasn’t a fan, your appearance on amazing race would have made me one. Favorite racers ever. Appreciate the respect you show for each other and everyone you are in contact with. Who knew I could laugh so much watching the Amazing race. The one liners are fantastic.
Totally agree. Kim & Penn have breathed new (wonderful and fun) life into TAR, so enjoyable watching you.
The stones challenge almost broke me while watching on my couch. The plate smashing was so satisfying , almost ASMR 🙃
Penn realizing TAR posted the clip of him peeing off camera 😂 sorry, Penn, that was funny!
We are watching for the first time because of you guys! I wonder what percentage of the AR audience this season are Holderfans???
"oracle, the gold coins are the friends we make along the way!" . haha
Aloha Kim and Penn! You guys are so great! I don't usually watch The Amazing Race, but when I saw you were on it my wife and I watched every minute of it. We both had tears in our eyes when you won. Congratulations!!! You and your family deserve it! Rex from Hawaii.
Guys - where is the Last Leg/Win recap? Need to hear from you guys. It was awesome. I was rooting for you from the beginning.
They were at Lulu & Lala’s finale party, then doing press interviews all day today. I’d expect it to come out tomorrow
I've been loving cheering you on this season! I wanted to give Kim a hug after she found the gold coin under the rock. I could totally empathize with the "Let's get the *bleep* outta here..."
but she shouldnt curse on the show bc her kids are watching
I am crying with happiness for what you both accomplished! Congratulations to both of you! 🍾🎊🎉
Also doing the best I can for 51 years and deal with anxiety and depression-whooo hooo for your family!
This was hard to watch without tears. I can't imagine what sorting through all of those rocks was like. You should all be proud of your perseverance ❤
Whoohoo that final leg was so nerve-racking! Congrats!!!
I noticed that too! It definitely gave me a laugh
I see that driving and navigation are stressful but I do not miss the taxi interactions at all. My partner won’t watch AR anymore because of the yelling at cab drivers. I didn’t enjoy hearing the yelling and (often) rudeness.
