So much needed to hear my son was on depokope for 7 years and they kept injecting him with benzo and another med started wit a Z in July 2023. He almost died. He been going through withdrawal for 7 month I thought he was going to stay like this you give me hope. He has severe ocd and can’t think for himself . He been taking omega, turmeric vit d3 taurine magnesium and lithum orotate in the morning .
My Dr doesn't support me coming off Klonopin so I'm tapering myself but it's scary and I don't even know a good taper any helpful tips would be appreciated

Then you can add the vitamins you need but these are some that most won’t consider ; Taurine 1000 mg morning and night help with anxiety and manic . Some of these prescription when you stop automatically will make you have more anxiety and feels manic. Taurine 1000 mg has help my son. Magnesium glycinate is also calming for men 400 mg for women 300 mg Turmeric liquid can help with inflammation Prebiotic /probiotic helps with your G.I.. some of these medicines mess with your gut so try to get that in you normalize/ginger root is also good for that Omega help to heal the brain but it take time and vitamin D 3 I also recommending getting IV therapy infusion especially one called (NAD) it expensive by direct healing to the brain and great and fast result . . Go to Dr. Alice W Lee she work out of NY and Utah but she does do consultation over zoom . I was on benzos for 3.5 yrs. Addicted to opiates for ten years. I have been clean from all drugs and alcohol 4.6 yrs. The benzo withdrawal was hell. Without my faith, i would have lost my mind.

@@Butterfly-vd4tgi know why. Or at least i think i do. Its due to anxiety issues and stress issues that remain unresolved and not due to drugs. The brain is neuroplastic and it heals. For me personally those 5-10-15 years or permament damage to the brain are stories of people who do not learn what to do to overcome anxiety and depression and practice it religiously. One person can have withdrawal for 20 years because he is not managing his anxiety at all, smokes, doesnt do therapy, doesnt workout, is still afraid of symptoms, and so on (which will keep his anxiety going) and another person does cbt, does workout, does manage his anxiety, is doing meditations daily and babysits himself with stress management daily which promote healing. Thats my theory. Ive seen a video of people having literal bullet holes in their heads and their minds not being capable of understanding shapes. With constant training they were able to read and do all sorts of things. The brain has amazing healing capacity! Also benzos are not the only thing out there that is influencing neurons and stuff, heroine, opiates, smoking, weed (long term use), cocaine and so so many other drugs do so as well. And guess what, healing happens when people quit that stuff! But its like if you have a broken bone you need to put it in a cast to heal. If you keep on hitting it it wont. The hitting i believe is the "anxiety+stress issues" and the cast is all the stress management and anxiety reduction in the world. I believe the 20+ year users who get off and they are minimaly affected, they are due to not worrying at all about it and staying calm. All the guidelines say that withdrawal lasts for 2-4 weeks and most repairing is done in that time. After that its mostly (my guess) due to anxiety issues and stress/depression issues. You can become extremely bad from just anxiety and sometimes worse that benzo withdrawal without having to take a benzo in your life. Its f anxiety and stress im pretty certain.
Very nice video. Thank you. I tapered off of a benzo. last spring. It took a few months and I had a lot of anxiety but I got thru it with the help of family and therapists too. Thanks be to God I got off it. Now, I'm going off an antidepressant slowly and am finding ways to cope with any discomfort in terms of sleep especially. Feeling better too. Keep doing these videos.
Keep making videoes. I have noticed a change in my brain lately. I can now much better feal hot and cold weather. At year 5 if i remember correctly i started to eat a better diet. Whole organic pasture raised eggs, 2 handfull of walnuts twice per day, vegable juices, multi vitamins, fish oil and fatty cheese. I dropped around 40-50 pounds of body fat this way and dropped a pants size. Everyone tells me i look good, but i dont always feel good. But im sure its a good thing im feeding my brain quality food. Im 6 years in protracted antipsychotic withdrawal and im starting to notice a sence of wellbeing in my body. All the best to all you guys out there and to this channel. Keep at it. All the best.

Thank you Michael. I always love to watch your very encouraging videos. I’m 71, was on a benzo for 30+ plus years and came off the drug ct. It has been over 33 months off for me now. I’m seeing a lot of improvement lately. Sleeping better, doing more, no longer have feelings of deep despair and depression. Slow improvement but progress none the less. It certainly hasn’t been easy, not a path I would have chosen to walk down but I fully believe a full recovery awaits and abundant life is on the other side of this suffering. One day at a time, we will get there. ❤😊
I had a horrible experience trying to ween off sertraline under a Dr's care it was terrible. I tried to tell my dr what was going on he just said you relapsed you have to go back on it im so afraid too try again it was traumatizing.
A common experience with the "relapse" diagnosis, Julio. The couple doctors I saw during the process didn't validate what I was going through either. And one was a total dunce! That can be discouraging.

I'm not fully healed but I have come along way. When I came off my AD's almost 4 years ago I was sure I was going to die, I felt absolutely hopeless, doomed. I'm now down to a small amount of diazepam, as I continue to taper that I can see and feel many improvements. I have hope and a closeness to God I never experienced, a plan for my future, I can do some exercise, I laugh again, my physical symptoms are less severe, things are improving. Absolutely right ..don’t listen horror stories .neuroplasticity is always there ..Everybody heals ..No pain no gain ..What u feel is due to inrusive thoughts ..nobody die
There is no 'gain' to be made from these meds and WD can be absolute hell for many people. It can take anywhere between 12-24 months for nueroplasticity to complete !
Thank you for this encouraging video. I’m about to embark on withdrawal from Klonopin. 15 years ago I got down from 1 mg to .5 mg. Still on the .5 and has just been the last few months I’ve felt like I need to get off this. I’ve been on klonopin for over 20 years so am concerned about getting completely off. I’m having to start an antibiotic today and am a little nervous on how this is going to affect my withdrawal. Hopefully everything will be ok.
I am trying to get off 1 mg of Ativan, down to .75 in about a month, but lots of tough symptoms. Did you do the Valium thing? I don’t want to do that but maybe it’s necessary.

No alcohol, medical cannabis, sleep, lots of water, TIME, my education and knowledge on this subject, NOT going back on the meds like some people suggested, light exercise and the drive to hang in there and get better for me and my family. Avoiding stress is difficult but being conscious that stress is a trigger to getting sick. I can’t believe it’s taking so long to heal. One other special person helped ! Michael from the lovely grind. 🙏🏻 He simply helped me push through the hard times. I need to give this man a huge hug from Australia 🇦🇺 He is welcome in my home if and whenever he makes it to Australia ❤️🙏🏻

I think that answer would be a little different for different people. It could include any number of physical, mental, or emotional symptoms, and certainly there is deep personal healing and restoration that is usually needing to happen by that time as well.
It gets better. It really does. Focus on healing and persevering. The debilitating stuff doesnt last for long periods. Instead of worrying try to say something to youtself like "this is temporary, if i keep on focusing on healing all those debilitating things will slowly fade away and as time passes by it will get better and better, i wont have to feel this way ever again but to do so i must focus on healing" tough it out for some time, and it will get easier and easier as time passes by. :) Never forger God is always there for you :)
Each month each 2 months each 3 months you will only improve if you persevere. And a year will pass by and you will look back and say "look at all that progress i made! Look how much better i feel!" And you will!
I feel this way too and I’m still tapering my antidepressant. You will get though this and it will ease up over time. Get yourself some protein drinks as well. You can do this. I hope you’re feeling better these days
Good video. Though, how do people get through the physical withdrawal symptoms? My biggest symptom has been horrific muscle pain in legs and feet. Really try to walk daily but so painful, miss running and gym to alleviate the anxiety and depression. Two weeks off the benzo.
Thanks Michael, you truly are an inspiration. The three main fears you mention are my concerns too. Also, I fear I could be ignoring any other health condition by assuming it's withdrawal. I am withdrawing from Citalopram, on half my original dose for 18 months now. I seem to be affected by different brands, it seems to start the withdrawal process over again. Do brand changes affect others that you know about? Thank you.
Hi Cheryl, yes people can be sensitive to changes in brand, although at the end of the day it won't be so detrimental as to actually harm a person. I can remember feeling the difference between name brand Xanax and the generic when I was tapering, or at least fearing that I was feeling the difference, who knows. Either way, it is not started a withdrawal process over, it is just a sensitivity. Keep at the progress!
What about someone who drank pretty heavily while taking klonopin for many years. Can they recover? I became sick while still taking the drug and am sicker while tapering. Soon I will be done the taper but feel like I must have major damage.
Yes, recovery and healing can and will happen if you keep at the process and take care of yourself from this point forward! There is no limit to the power of healing. Just try to keep a forward focus and be patient with yourself, remembering that each positive step you take now is accomplishing something important for your future.

I feel terrible muscle spasms in my legs and upper arms, a warm uncomfortable pains type spasm , especially when I lie down in the night. I am 2 and a half month off benzo and this feeling started only a few days ago. Is this a withdrawal symptom? Why am I feeling this after two months and not in the beginning, when I stopped xanax?

I don't really comment on specific symptoms on social media, but I will say that if something is a symptom of withdrawal, a person should always view it as temporary and as something that will go away. Time and self care heal withdrawal symptoms, so focus on allowing healing time to pass while setting self-care goals and reducing stress as able. Take care today!

Thank you. Tonight I am feeling like I am dying, like I am crazy and it's going to be this way forever. How else is it I can't eat sleep or think.
The klonopin does that, you get house bound after, which is a protection mechanism. Drink Ensure, it helps some, or Boost Vanilla.

Thanks Michael, you truly are an inspiration. The three main fears you mention are my concerns too. Also, I fear I could be ignoring any other health condition by assuming it's withdrawal. I am withdrawing from Citalopram, on half my original dose for 18 months now. I seem to be affected by different brands, it seems to start the withdrawal process over again. Do brand changes affect others that you know about? Thank you.
Hi Cheryl, yes people can be sensitive to changes in brand, although at the end of the day it won't be so detrimental as to actually harm a person. I can remember feeling the difference between name brand Xanax and the generic when I was tapering, or at least fearing that I was feeling the difference, who knows. Either way, it is not started a withdrawal process over, it is just a sensitivity. Keep at the progress!
What about someone who drank pretty heavily while taking klonopin for many years. Can they recover? I became sick while still taking the drug and am sicker while tapering. Soon I will be done the taper but feel like I must have major damage.
Yes, recovery and healing can and will happen if you keep at the process and take care of yourself from this point forward! There is no limit to the power of healing. Just try to keep a forward focus and be patient with yourself, remembering that each positive step you take now is accomplishing something important for your future.
Michael thank you! I have been off klonopin for almost a year, and my sleep has not really come back. Does this insomnia ever go away?

I feel terrible muscle spasms in my legs and upper arms, a warm uncomfortable pains type spasm , especially when I lie down in the night. I am 2 and a half month off benzo and this feeling started only a few days ago.
Is this a withdrawal symptom? Why am I feeling this after two months and not in the beginning, when I stopped xanax?

I don't really comment on specific symptoms on social media, but I will say that if something is a symptom of withdrawal, a person should always view it as temporary and as something that will go away. Time and self care heal withdrawal symptoms, so focus on allowing healing time to pass while setting self-care goals and reducing stress as able. Take care today!
