I feel like Axelsen brings the best out of everyone "younger" who challenges him. They all want to beat him and all go 110% to try to do so. Great match!

If you follow ng tze yong. He isnt that kind of player. He always does his best. For me i feel, viktor scares the shit out of everyone. But unfortunately, it didnt work against nty. Too calm composed and just does his own thing. Just imo.

Disgraceful empiring, when victor changed the shuttle before Ng agreed. There are rules against players delaying but no rules against victor rushing a young player when he serves. VERY BIAS EMPIRING AND RULES. IT IS A FORM OF BULLYING. I am glad victor lost. Amazing play by Ng Tze Yong 👍👍👍
I was expecting him to challenge the last point, but I guess it was that long so he didn't bother. Was hoping to see a side view of it though. This match was full of mind games. NTY having timeouts after some of the points, and then Viktor not agreeing to change the shuttle, but when it's NTY's turn, the umpire just let Viktor change the shuttle even if NTY disagreed. Anywaaaaay. Very intense match! Congrats, NTY!

Well. The umpire is an European. 😅. I noticed that some of the points that were Viktor’s faults, but the empire ignored them.

Ng tze yong has everything, in fact that's his problem - he is good at everything and has so much variety, rather than some bread-and-butter playerswho do a couple of things well. Decision making is key for him. I thought he was due a massive result since his outstanding commonwealth games. Best player to watch. Doesn't always win but always entertaining. And also great fighting spirit. I really hope he goes on to win the tournament.
Well I found him to be a bit late with his forehand in the rear backhand. Except that, totally agree.

his problem is physical fitness. he need to train more on the physical side. in the pass he always get injured and cannot play in long tournament. by the time he reached Semi-final, he always no more energy.

@@J.J.J.J.J.J.J There was a bit of that from Ng Tze Yong, - a venal sin not a mortal one IMO, it would be a different story if i thought that it was time wasting because of extreme fatigue rather than a player taking the time to get his head right before a big point. Its the umpire's job to crack down on it. usually the umpires at the AE rush the players, even if both players want to take a little more time over a key point. If i was Ng, with his erelative level of experience compared to victor i would have likely have told myself to not rush.
Viktor Axelson looks undefeatable every time I see him playing.Litterally he is everywhere on the court.
The strategy works well for NTY to counter VA's jumping smashes.
Hope that he could change to another type of sfrategies against LSF tomorrow.
LSF is an all rounder,could smash hard and good at the front court too.I wonder what kind of strategy,NTY is going to utilise?Still a 50:50 chance.😱

Ng has good defense and his smash is so explosive and hitting unpredictable timing. It's not lucky he beat the champion Axelesen.
Might even have been unlucky cause he slipped.
NTY played very smart today, learning and improving upon LCY's success against VA. Patience and strategies paid off 👍

Chiến thuật rất hay của Tze Yong khi chỉ dồn cầu trên lưới, hạn chế tối đa khả năng đập của Axelsen. Và Axelsen đã cho mọi đối thủ hiểu rằng, sau bao nhiêu năm thì kỹ năng trên lưới với cái chiều cao ấy vẫn còn rất non cơ.

VA looks tired and commits so many unforced errors in this match. Fortunately NTY took it home with his variety of shots and quick footwork. Bravo!
Respect also to VA. His mental was down in game 1. He fought back strong.
NTY knew VA's weakness and fully capitalised on it. VA became impatient when he was trailing, and it affected his emotion, composure, and focus and thus causing him to make mistakes in rallies. Congrats, NTY !!!

Ng can only get better after beating this 6 foot 4 inch 'montrous' world number 1. VA moved incredibly well for a big man n at times dominant n unbeatable. NG is now the talk of Birmingham. I predict a NG-SHI grand final.

I might be biased but VA seemed a bit douchey declining most of the shuttle change request while he seemed to have them change fast.
Great athleticism that he squeezed everything out of Ng TY as the latter milked every opportunity for extra breathing time.
A frustrating match for him surely with all the antics from the opponent and crashing out this early in the tournament.
I noticed that too! I think instead of asking NTY, he directly asked the umpire instead of NTY (or NTY wasn't looking when Viktor asked for a shuttle change).
@@kieffer.albert I think we managed to see NTY declining the last request as the camera panned to him going about his nth timeout but VA changed the shuttle anyways. While NTY was milking every possible moment, VA was a bit too hasty with all his urges for fast resumption (the comment about having extra rest time during the first game, the suggestion to the umpire that NTY was too late to challenge which he was, and was visibly annoyed during the match) - which I thought affected his mindset and gameplay as a result.

What a match! Overwhelmed
Wow wow wow. That was really intense. NTY smartly let the 2nd game go to conserve his energy and then put lots of effort into attacking the next game by avoiding lifts and hitting many net shots and drops. VA made 1 too many errors but also wasn't given many chances to attack. He'll be looking for revenge next time and may look to punish the front court play more. Congrats to NTY.

Some said that he was lucky today and most likely will be defeated on the subsequent matches plus complaining about his calling for timeouts for the nth times.Sure. But it was still a fair play/ strategy or else the umpire would have intervened.
Ultimately, a win is still a win. It was a remarkable achievement nonetheless, beating the reigning All England/ Olympic champion/ current world no.1 no less. As what Oma Gill usually said "it was sensational".

Ohh my god.... did the women commentator receive money from the Alex, German or just like to flatter Alex?? Talking about his past result and criticise NTY bad play. Then talk about the injury is NOT bleeding?? It is his finger that get injury and he is playing the game?? How you know it wouldn't affect his play just because it seems nothing for you?? What a joke? Did they ever did any sport? Even it is not bleeding, playing with injure and lots of sweat is terrible.
Ng wasn’t paying attention to the line judge’s call out, but Axelsen came up to the umpire immediately after that point midway through in the final game and basically told the umpire it would be too late if Ng decided to challenge. Axelsen didn’t even wait when the umpire was not even off his chair calling him(to wait). he just so wanted to exit the court…
