Plus I mentioned Red Mii only because in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, the same red Mii I'm referring to was used for a selection portrait for Mii's. But nonetheless it's a personal preference I have, not everyone's likely to be on board having the Mii as an opponent.
Not really. The Mii API has always come with 6 guest Miis, the first of which fits your description of the default Mii. Besides, not that hard for them to just choose a Mii at random. Mario Kart Wii did it for the audience and signs around the courses.
It's weird that the Mii All-Star theme is the lobby music for online in the 360 version, not sure about the PS3 version. Doesn't make it seem as special if it's just that. I have a 3DS and I've used StreetPass so many times and I didn't even realize it was a remix of that...
It would've been neat if the Mii were an AI opponent. Not exactly your Mii, more like the Default Red Mii Nintendo starts you off with when you make one from scratch, but I guess that'd be hard on the coding as is.
Your Mii should've been unlocked after you beat the first 5 cups. Eggman is unlocked by beating the 5 cups on Mirror. 3DS version however, Mii is unlocked by beating the 5 cups on Mirror. Unless you have the PS3 or 360 version.
