    I’ve got one of those Royal Navy Hammocks Alan, canvas, a bit heavy but tough..lol, with all the fittings, it’s not surprisingly bulky to carry on a trip, but Incase of clouds having a wee during the night, you need a tarp over, but it’s nice……and as for your neighbours, 😅😅 I prefer Mr Fox or Mr Badger , or maybe Sally the Mouse 😅😅😅 all the best Brian

    I use a well insulated roll mat in my hammock, so much more comfy for me :) my car is in the garage today, by this time tomorrow it should be home and fitted with tie outs for my hammock (and a new exhaust lol) wooo!

    Nice camp Allan! I like how you go into detail and explain things, and your unbiased opinion on gear. Some of these companies should reach out to you for your ideas on how to improve their products. Anyway, I received the Bergen backpack and I see why you use it… Great bag, versatile, and tough as nails. Cheers mate!

      Glad you enjoyed it. I just try to help others when I can. I have reviewed a few things over the years, but some companies get the arse when I point out problems. Well I am not going to lie about it, so they don't send anything else. 😂

    Just found your channel. You are so relaxed and chill guys! Awesome to watch your escapades in the woods! I will try to make videos about my time in the forest (and on our "homestead" in the swedish countryside) too. Not that easy! You do it really good. My first video are to come! Have a nice time in the bush!

      Thanks for your kind comments. I don't take UA-cam too seriously, I just go camping every weekend and film odd bits with my phone. Good luck with your channel. 👍

    If you accept my recommendation.
    For "suspicious" nights, that is, when one don't know exactly what the nighttime temperature will be, I usually add a "space blanket" between the hammock and the quilt in order to reflect some of my heat back. It works.
    If you want to try it and see if it works for you...
    You must pay royalties for that comfort...

    I have all one wind stuff and I agree their stuff sacks really lack imagination. In fact they're all the same with no labelling to say what they are. That said I really can't fault their products and their hammocks are REALLY comfortable.

    • @jim-bob-outdoors
      @jim-bob-outdoors  7 місяців тому

      Shame really, Its the little things that let the product down.

    • @saxoncrow2500

      @@jim-bob-outdoors easily solved by DIY labelling lol. As I said the hammock is awesome and as a tall fella it's nice to be able to side sleep in one. That's where the frontline lets me down sadly.

    Well Done Al, I enjoyed that buddy.
    You’re like me being a bit Anti Social, can’t be doing with most people and enjoy my own company to be honest.
    I’ll get around to that Camp with you this year for sure.

    Cool camp Allan, the tarp configuration does look cool, for the cinching of the one in the middle, just for that camp, you could of cinched it tight, and just tied off the elastic cord with a granny knot behind the cord lock , the woods are starting to look awesome in spring mode, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig

    Nice little DRY camp there Allan! I was out early this week and it seems that maybe, just maybe things are drying out a bit! That tarp config you devised…does it work with a 3x3? Nice video - thanks, Ben

      @jim-bob-outdoors  8 місяців тому

      Hi Ben. The tarp in the video was a 3x3, I am tempted to try it with a 4x4. 🤔

    Try to use an eleven or twelve foot long hammock for a flat asymmetrical lay, you’ll be pleasantly surprised how much more comfortable they are compared with shorter length hammocks.

    • @jim-bob-outdoors
      @jim-bob-outdoors  7 місяців тому

      This one is long and comfortable, I was just a bit chilly due to the underblanket not fitting properly.

    Here’s a question coming from somewhat of an ignorant 66 year old lady. Is that a micro headlamp in the very front of the bill of your cap? If it’s not a “thing” then it should be 🧢 💡 🤷‍♀️. Heehee

    • @jim-bob-outdoors
      @jim-bob-outdoors  8 місяців тому +1

      Well spotted. Yes a small headlamp, it has two small batteries in the band of the cap. Mine is very old and the light has failed, but you can still buy them quite cheap on Ebay, Amazon etc.
