6:58 What is this based on? Philip was only there for 4 years(1558) over a decade BEFORE Hawkins built his race-built galleons(1570). There is actual evidence of ships from the era of Henry 8 were 2 generations better than the Spanish fleets. English fleets used entirely different tactics and ship design. Why didnt the limitless wealth of Philip help him modernize his OWN fleet(1588)?

Diane Purkiss is a respected academic-has been an Oxford fellow for 20 years,I don't think she made it up. As for limitless wealth -Spain was broke .

I think you mean "a respected academic, and has been an Oxford fellow..." and not an "academic-has been." As you can see, the punctuation was confusing and implied something much different than I think you intended. I am a huge fan of Diane Purkiss. Cheers. :)

@@inhighspeed You may be correct about my punctuation-she is certainly not a "has been"-but as to the meat of the matter....?

They literally didn’t win the war? What?

@@theghostinthemirror8158 They did, they kept winning 90% of the battles against the British for at least 2 more centuries. Go figure.
