Zelda Master Sword - Substance Painter to Unreal Engine 4
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- Master Sword textured in substance and rendered in Unreal. Level concept idea was from A Link to the Past. I added weathering to the sword to give it a sense of realism.
Assets from Evermotion, Unreal Marketplace and Epic Games.
Sword created by David Lima which can be found here: grabcad.com/li... It is in Cad file so you will you need to convert the file as I did.

every time I see one of your videos I learn something new, didn't know spline mesh objects were possible in UE4, great work!
You should make tutorials
It's amazing how fast and efficiently one can make video games these days. There's no excuse for being lazy!
Hoss Cartwright you clearly have no idea how hard it is to make a proper videogame
It's amazing! Great work!
Looks so realistic
Hey Maverick, I saw some guy called NoRoleModels reposting your videos. Just in case you didnt know.
I love your work! Amazing as always!!
Appreciate it! Thank you.
Perfect job !
wow, I'm so blown away right now.
wish I had half your skill, that would be enough for me.
good job.
Stop wishing and just do it.
Aaron Rory just give me a tutor
The internet is your tutor, sure the information can be vast and imprecise but your determination shall be your ruler. I my self just started learning Unity and android programming at the beginning of this year... I feel My Unity related knowledge is growing quite quickly but for the first few weeks I felt entirely dismayed thinking I need to know so much...soo little time... an overwhelming feeling indeed. But! Part by part I'm drawing nearer to my goal of understanding...
Start but never stop, fail, sure but always try.
Aaron Rory thank you :-)
Why you don't using Unity engine anymore? UE4 better for speed level design? Anyway your works is awesome!
Yeah unreal is a bit better for level design!
I thought I watch a little bit Speed Level Design and then you upload a Video. NICE :D
And the Best: Its Zelda
this is the best UE4 youtube channel
7:40 Ballad of the windfish, Nostalgia All the way 😥
Holy mother of creativity!!!! gg ez
Humans make errors. Maverick doesn't.
Do you create everything in another program (tree bushes etc) and put them all in a program or copy them from google? Anyway fantastic!
So a quick question, I'm super new to Substance and find the painting difficult. What tool did you use at the start of the video to easily colour in the Master Sword?
Also absolutely loved the video! I'm jealous of your abilities :p
Used to UV fill or Polygon tool. You can use youtube speed settting to slow down the video. It is super easy to do.
Ahh cool, thank you for that! Will make my life 100x easier.
Oh my that's so cool, brilliant job!
Also Maverick I dropped you an email some time ago not sure if you saw :)
Do U ever thing to make a GREAT RPG games with Unreal Engien 4? It must be really cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, U R GENIUS~~~~~~~
Hey Maverick,
Just wondering what the technique/asset type is for the vines when you're curling it around the sword. I've never seen something like that done in Unreal and would like to try it in my own projects. Any clues?
Thanks!
unreal engine the best lah
Can I use your footage in a video if I give you credit? Beautiful job by the way.
Hi did you use uv mapping ? In blender, maya, c4d etc...? Or you just import the mesh and then you brush? Thx :D
Excellent.
Have you ever been offered to work for a legit game studio or have you ever thought of working for one because any studio would be blessed to have someone like you with your awesome skills especially with the level design/ scenes you make keep up the great work!!!
Made me so hyped for the new Zelda Game :D
Always loved games and i've always wanted to make them or at least do something like this. Do you have any tips on how to get started? and is it particularly hard?
That UVW Map was amazing on top of the whole thing being the same..... subbed :)
Thumbs up, btw i dont know what i did but i got notification on my devices, great work as always
nice
Did you make this model? Cuz that’s a schpoop tonne of polys for texture painting . Looks hecking amazing though
Nope, found it. Link in the description.
Maverick ahhhh gotcha .
I love all the little details like the vines curling up it and the spiderwebs! That little glowing triforce was legit as well!
Great video! what package/plug-in did you use for the vines?
It's amazing! all you videos is incredible
woah! what kind of asset did you use for the vine to get it to wrap around the sword like that?
why did you do the 007 in the guard there? That's not in the sword model is it?
Looks more like the one from Twilight Princess!
7:36 Ballad Of The Wind Fish - Link's Awakening
how did u get that model? Did you make it using blender?
Really Smart
very nice! did you use the same tutorial as me?
I love your work, i will wait for the next one n.n
can you make a tutorial video?
that was amazing this help me feel a little better
Wow It is nice!!
I hade a interested time.
sir,how to convert the model
Quick Question
In Unreal Engine, when you overlap objects to make a level, does unreal hide the 'insides' of those overlapping objects or does this still take up as much 'rendering' power as if they weren't overlapping? I'm talking about the rocks you used to create the outskirts of the 'forest' to begin with
Farhad Chamo it still renders the inside polys. the way maverick does his level design videos is more "make everything as pretty as possible" then actually optimizing everything. still looks impressive though
ok i see, thanks for the reply!
Hmm, can i convert it to minecraft items?
Do you do any procedural stuff?
I wanted to know if you make your own assets? Trying to understand blender but it's tuff
Kirkland Reid no he does not. The description says so. Search up how to make unturned gun in blender. There should be a pink one
why there's gob web on the sword ?
Jesus man, ur amazing x100
I can recognize the songs ;)
you are very talented
this is beautiful good job
Fucking gorgeous
dat's a lot of polygons :0

Daxzer7 x2 buen vídeo
Where you get the Game Assets?
Hi everyone,
I have Evermotion Archmodels for UE vol 4 pack. In this pack there are a lot of trees. I couldn't import those trees manually and I copied them to my project folder on windows. My problem is i cant see their materials and textures when i put them to my scene...
Probably because you are using an Unreal version that isn't 4.14.
My Unreal Engine version :
Version: 4.14.3-3249277+++UE4+Release-4.14
You put the trees in the content folder of your project?
Do you see the models and just not the textures?
meshes folder link:
...\Content\Evermotion_Trees\Meshes
materials folder link:
...\Content\Evermotion_Trees\Materials
textures folder link:
...\Content\Evermotion_Trees\Textures
So was it your model or were you only painting it?
Also love the frozen deer you put in there just for fun
Lucäse Karpador can you read the title?
Damn, looks better than Breath of the wild ;)
