Excellent history of AEG. Who made the film, it's very professional and full of excellent archive material?

Also notable is that there is no actual date given in this film, but one can be worked out from the comment "five years later" as 1896. Tesla concieved his ideas for alternating current in 1882 and built the first brushless alternating current induction motor in 1887, after he had left Edison to form his own company, Tesla Electric. Whilst it is difficult to quote exact dates for any invention, like the lightbulb, many of these things were in development all over the world, and the winner was often not the first, or even the best, but was often, though not always, the first to the patent office!

Was ich gerne wissen würde ist die Rolle eines Albert Altmann in der Geschichte der AEG. Can you share anything about that, or do you know something about records available?
    Vielen Dank!

Interesting. AEG used to sell fairly high quality hand power tools in the US (I just put a new cord on what had to be a 29 YO drill for a neighbor of mine). They are none existent here now though.

Very nice - if it were not for the fact that Tesla devised the induction motor, three-phase power, and power transmission via transformers.

Does there not appear to be very significant conflicts as to who discovered what? Why is THE TESLA not credited, or even mentioned?

Thank you for posting this video, is really interesting and speaks about a Legendary company. Does AEG has a museum or old factories that are up for a visit?
    Many thanks

First time I have heard about this man Mr. Mikhail Dolivo-Dobrowolsky. This UA-cam's footnotes state he invented? (or developed the "Squirrel Cage Motor and 3 Phase Transformer?") All along I thought it was Nicola Tesla who invented the A/c Induction Motor.

Nice bit of history. AEG makes good quality equipment. I have some old AEG LJc meters from 1920 which still work perfectly.
Nikola Tesla invented the AC system.

But there's nothing about AEG's pioneering use of slave labor during World War Two in Auschwitz and Lithuania. Very sad how AEG "suffered" after World War Two.

Every German company under the Nazi regime was forced to take prisoners as slave workers and contritbute to the military efforts by producing armament and telecommunications devices. Its not like every CEO thought it was a great to have slaves at the same point in time.

Well, all fine, but the AEG went bust in 1996...
All Products with AEG logo nowadays have nothing to do with the old AEG.
    Look at thw wiki article.

Edison did not invent the light bulb!, in fact no one person invented the light bulb, they were in development all over the world. Edison patented the first American lightbulb, that is all, and then formed Ediswan with another inventor, Joseph Wilson Swan who got his british patent for a light bulb over a year before Edison. Edison was very good at looking at technology under development all over the world, and then developing and patenting his American version of it. He was not the first to record sound, and he did not invent moving pictures, or the cameras that made and projected them, even though he held American patents for all these things.

Ferraris did eight months before Tesla. That doesn't mean Tesla did't make one. But he was not the first. Maybe we can say they invented it separately.
