After I finish drying my hair, it always tends to fall down to the sides. I don't seem to get that volume Joe gets in his videos. Anyone know why? Feedback would be appreciated.

Same as Joe, my hair is extremely thick but every time I follow these steps as soon as I blow dry my hair just wont stay in position and will fall down. Anyone know how to prevent this?
Buy the a good product, spending more than 7 dollars on a good product can make an amazing difference. A pre product can also make a difference.
how much of an effect does any pre-styler have?
Try using a gel as a pre styler before you blow dry. When you put gel in semi damp towel dried hair and then blow dry it it doesn't harden up and crisp like it normally would. Personally I use "Melting Gel" Look it up if you want. It's great.
to your question- prestyler has a lot of effect on the hairstyle. at least for thick hair. trust me.
A stronger blowdryer(Faster and a bit more heat would help) and a damper starting hair always helped me out. Remember using a comb or brush to guid it!

this actually helped me with some of the issues i have
I've just followed this albeit with different products
Pre-styler: Nivea Diamond Mousse
Post-stylers: Syoss Powerhold Wax and L'Oréal Strength 7 hairspray.
I also have thick BUT straight hair, so there are alternatives if you can't afford the salon designer stuff Joe uses.
You should do more of these full process and no edit videos
