- In 1991, a cheap Italian-produced swords-and-sorcery flick called Ator IV: Quest For The Mighty Sword (www.imdb.com/ti...) was retitled Troll 3: Das Schwert Der Macht (The Sword Of Power) in Germany, to cash in on the video success of the notorious Troll 2 (www.bestworstmo...).
Its retitling was not totally unjustified - directed by Troll 2's producer, the infamous Joe D'Amato, the film was also produced by his company Filmirage, re-uses some of Troll 2's crew as well as some very familiar-looking creature masks... Filmirage made another film sometimes known as Troll 3, but better known as The Crawlers or Contamination .7 (www.imdb.com/ti....
Here are the highlights of the troll (sorry, goblin) scenes from "Troll 3". Some of the scenes have been cut down, mostly just very long, boring shots of people walking used to pad out the film.
"Nilbloggers" beware though - these scenes are the ONLY traces of any connection to Troll 2 in this movie. No mention of "an ancient city of Nilbog", I'm afraid.
And yes - this film makes Troll 2 look like Citizen Kane. Marvel at the wonders of the second troll, who must have been the vocal template for Napoleon Dynamite. And pity the poor actress who had to hump one of them...
TRIVIA: The little man in this clip was murdered in Italy to much notoriety a couple of years later.

DUDE!!! Me, too. I had the same experience. I was 6 when I saw this on HBO, in 1993, around 4 PM, and I caught it right before "THE" scene.My dad had it muted so I wasn't sure what was going on. Then I caught it again, and heard Grindel laughing at her and it pissed me off. I told my friend on the bus about this movie and how I'd pee on a copy of it if I ever found one. It always haunted me what this was called. But found it back in 08, and have a bootlegged dvd. So far it remains un-pissed on.

WHERE can I buy this?! I'm a huge fan of Troll 1 & 2 and I'm dying for the rest of these bizarre, good awful movies.

'The Creepers' aka 'Crawler's aka 'Contamination .7' is also called Troll 3 aswell as this movie. so there basically is a Troll4 already.

But yeah, I totally get your feelings of getting dumber scene by scene especially the beginning, the lady offers Grindle a broken sword in return to raise her kid, help kill her, and get rid of her body. Then he's like,"Fuck that." (Which I think anybody would say to someone offering them that) So he tells her he wants sex. She's like,"Umm..."So he tells her he will have sex with her no matter what. But she's ok with it. I guess she didn't know sex potions exist.

That sword pops up as a prop in a million movies, primarily "Hercules" with Lou Ferrigno. It's also a background prop in Ridley Scott's "Legend".

HOLY SHIIIIIT i remember seeing the ending scene with that old guy who does pottery..he was with some woman and has a kitten sculpture and then the entire palace collapsed on him for some reason and i remember feeling kinda sad cos the lil kitten sculpture got ruined xP yeah i was crazy obsessed with cats when i was little.

@BlackZer00 SPOILER...The lady is actually cursed by the gods for having sex with Grendel and she is doomed to be a prostitute until Ator, now a grown man, defends her later on in the film, and he breaks the curse because he didn't use her for sex. She finds out he's her long lost son, and dies...Yes, I find it pretty disturbing, too. I just try to remind myself none of it ever happened. It's just a movie. It was just an actress rubbing up against a guy in a costume for a couple of seconds.

I honestly didn't know the exact years of either's creation so I thought they ripped of J.K. My point though is "Grendel" which was the monster Beowulf fought in the movie Beowulf, and the creature Beowulf was going to fight in the poem... COnsidering the poem only talks about how he's getting ready to fight Grendel...

This is not actually Troll 3. This is Ator 4 "the quest for the mighty sword." Troll 3 actually does exist, it's on amazon on VHS only. Also check out the shark sandwich on myspace they review movies (this one as a matter of fact) for their podcast pretty funny stuff.

one of the worst movies ever. If it had more votes on IMDB, it would be tied for worst movie all time. I paid a decent amount of cash 6 years ago to get it on VHS. Money well spent.
