I love how he used the breaks in his voice... Avery is just amazing!
There were much runs but i didn't find it disturbing in this song. This is a very slow, balad-like song, there is room for runs and variations imo. And let's face it, his technique in his runs and high notes is simply amazing!

I also wanted to be critical of the way he overuses his voice. Then I googled him (first time I hear of him) and discovered he is only 20! Twenty yrs old with a voice like that already, lawd have mercy, give the guy a chance to grow and mature a bit. Wonder what he'll be like at 25. Remember Prince was 26 when the purple rain album came out in 1986. Was gonna give it a thumbs down but it's thumbs up for me.

HE'S GETTING BETTER!!!! His control, especially with his runs, has gotten a lot better compared to 2015... While he adds his runs, now he can ACTUALLY controllably sing his own rendition of a song and still make it sound great. Keep going at it Avery. Work a little bit on your range and I predict you'll be a GREAT vocalist by 2018. Not singer, because you're already a good singer, but a VOCALIST! Most definitely!
Range? He has a wide range. Its not his range he needs to work on, its his musicality. To learn to place his riffs and runs properly, not at every words. To work on his interpretation, on his climax of the song. And most importantly, to be able to emote, deliver emotion, being soulful, without being carried away by his own runs. I love Avery’s voice, his agility and melisma. Just hope he can control it more.
