Absolutely beautiful. I cried twice at this song. The only song that did that...deserves number 1 for me! It's about the death of Maro's grandfather, and BOY would he be PROUD of her! It doesn't need to any staging changes, this is what Portugal is about! This ain't a ballad, it's something else...it's ART!!!

I think the best reaction here was by Adele. she was like "Oh no another ballad...give me something else!!!!" and at the end her reaction told everything. Sometimes is not about the flashy bits and bobs is about feeling. Is about that state that you cant help but feel sadness/longing/missing that thing/person/place sometimes we have those as granted and then when they are not there we feel "saudade"

This song gets better the more you listen to it and the more you reflect on how often we all feel "saudade" but are at a loss of words for how to express this feeling. A brilliant blend of English and Portuguese as a beautiful meta commentary on Eurovision itself. Eurovision songs often are written in English to be more "accessible". And this song starts in English to draw listeners in. While the English in this song is still impactful, it's when the song transitions to Portuguese that we find the deepest beauty in this song. There truly is no way to describe, in English, the feeling of Saudade. And it's that feeling that connects most with listeners. Such simple yet effective production. Absolutely beautiful.

"It wouldn't make much sense not to be me singing such a personal theme", stressed the artist. Maro is the artistic name of Mariana Secca, from Lisbon, who grew up in a family environment marked by music, began studying piano at age four, attended the conservatory and studied at Berklee School in Boston, United States.
