      Are these for infants as well??

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  6 років тому +2

      Hi, Venu! Correct Toes toe spacers certainly can be used by children, but the current sizing options aren't appropriate for infants. In most cases, infants display signs of our natural foot health heritage, including great dexterity in the toes and healthy toe splay. As we age, we tend to cram our feet into ill-fitting shoes, and we lose our foot strength and resiliency over time as a result. Correct Toes is most often beneficial for individuals who want to treat existing foot or toe conditions or preserve their foot health over the long-term. We hope this info helps!

    Awesome! I've been a poor runner my whole life, but recently commited to becoming better. I've been putting a huge emphasis on restoring natural foot and toe function by utilizing toe spacers, zero drop shoes with a natural toe box and mobility exercises. It has made a world of difference!

    It’s crazy how shoes that are made for our feet aren’t even shaped correctly for our feet.

      When Earth shoes came out in the 70s, I wore them and wore them out. Once they were worn out, I couldn't find another pair where I lived. For all I knew back then, they'd gone out of business. It's not like some of us haven't wanted foot shaped shoes for decades. I avoided heels and pointed toes, but the only alternative most of the time has been rounded toes.If you look at women's shoes it is near impossible to get as low as a 1/2" drop forget zero drop. Despite my efforts I ended up with foot problems. Trying to correct them now. However, so many of the natural shoes have a seam where gout might be and I can't wear them. When I find a pair of natural shoes that actually fits (I tend to be between sizes), I'll celebrate.

    Coming from years of wearing orthopedics for my sesamoiditis and deforming bunion I was really glad to have discovered Correct Toes. The pain used to get worse and worse and more frequent but since I started using correct toes and buying barefoot shoes my feet got immensly stronger, not only my pain went away but I can stand on my toes again and take longer walks without being afraid to trigger the inflammation again.
    I recommend this to literally everyone! If you don't have foot problems now, you will get them later eventually! Switch to natural footwear so your feet have a chance to restore to their natural allignment. Absolutely great product.

      Hi! Thank you for your comment and question. Most young people who use Correct Toes to address bunions can achieve positive results and set themselves up for a lifetime of optimal foot function and health. Addressing things like bunions early on in life is really important, and younger people tend to see the most rapid and significant changes in toe alignment with Correct Toes use.

    I would like to order the toe spacers but I have Syndactyly (webbed toes between my 2nd & 3rd toes). Can I still use these toe spacers? I have had problems using other types of toe spacers because of the Syndactyly. Thank you for your response.

    I have always had bad flat feet and about 2 yrs ago I developed planters fasciitis ( or so I think) from the work I do. I run/ walk for up to 16 hours a day and because of that my feet are in incredibly pain. I have tired all types of feet exercise. Products while at work, after and at night. The only thing I found to make the pain bearable is to keep my weight way down. Even with that still have days when I'm walking on my tip toes or sides of my feet due to the pain. I just ordered the Lems Primal 2 shoes, injinji toe socks, pedal metatarsal pads and correct toes. All this was not inexpensive but if it corrects the problem and pain stops then it would be worth 10x that much to me. I'm really hoping this helps and I can be more active on my off days. For all that are wondering if these products work. I will come back and give an update on my personal experience. Crossing my fingers!!

    I have a mortons neuroma and also bunions. I was told by a podiatrist that I am a pronator. I showed her my correct toes (that I have been wearing for almost two months 3-6 hours a day) she smiled and said they would be no help to me and I needed a good pair of asics and a orthotic. Don't know who to believe. My neuroma seems to be slightly improved with the smart toes and icing. Hope they post more videos.

    I'm trying to fix my feet.. as I have had meniscus tears in both knees. I've noticed that knee pain begins lower in the chain.. at the feet.. its something the doctors don't tell you. Thoughts? I might try these, not sure.

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  9 років тому +3

      Ezvu Thanks for the comment! From personal experience, we've found that when your feet are aligned properly it can allow you to properly distribute weight throughout the rest of your lower body, which in turn can promote healing elsewhere. We can't guarantee this, however, without a personal examination and full medical history. But we can assure you that it's a step in the right direction. I hope this info has been helpful! Best of luck moving forward!

      Hi, Javier. Thank you for your comment and question. Every set of feet is unique, and what works for one person may not work for someone else. That being said, if you are still able to manually straighten out your toes, you may indeed find Correct Toes to be helpful in restoring optimal toe alignment. I want to order this but wonder how long a pair can be used?
    I mean if it is only going to last for a few weeks then maybe we will need to order more than one pair. I am 33 and already have serious problems with my toes, especially the big one.

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому

      Hi, raffik55. Thank you for your question. The device is made of medical-grade silicone and is both comfortable and durable. The lifespan of the device varies based on how often it is used, what it's being used to treat, etc. There is a materials warranty for any device that breaks down with athletic use during the first 90 days (extremely rare). The average lifespan for a pair of Correct Toes is several years (our first sets of Correct Toes lasted over 5 years). Again, duration of the device is very individual. I hope this info helps!

    Hey! I am extremely self conscious of my feet and all I want is to fix them due to the big toe and the second toe including the rest stretched quite far away. Like 3cm. Is this okay? And how do I fix this. I see everything having their toes close together yet mine are stretched. I go outside quite a lot and am scared for friends to see them. Would these help?

    Yes I will be purchasing the correct toes this summer. At the moment I am wearing a splint, would this work in the mean time?
    Also once I buy the correct toes is it important to buy the wide shoes at the same time? There is a store in my town that sells this product. I am very happy to have found it.

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  6 років тому

      Hi, Catherine. Thank you for your question! In our experience, we've found that general toe splints are usually not sufficient or adequate in spacing the toes anatomically, the way they need to be for optimal foot and toe health and function. A lot of folks do indeed purchase Correct Toes and wide toe box footwear together; this is a great combination of footgear that can really help rehabilitate the feet and toes. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

      Hi, Skybit. Thank you for your excellent question! In our experience, we have indeed seen Correct Toes to be beneficial for folks with Parkinson's. The device keeps the toes from clenching as much. Note: It's important to be extra careful with fit and to monitor your skin for any potential irritations or breakdown, which can occasionally happen if your toes clench against the device.

    • @NaturalFootgear

      Thank you for your question, Faithful One. Having a stable and level support surface (something that Correct Toes helps enable in your feet) is vitally important to the proper health and functioning of your musculoskeletal system. Correct Toes alone isn't going to correct a scoliotic curve, but it will help with proper bone, joint, and soft tissue alignment throughout the body.

    I suffered a ruptured Achilles about 7 months ago. I was wondering if your product could assist in my recovery process? Also is it something that will actually fix the deficiencies in my feet? Or will they throughout time fix the issues in my feet an no longer be needed?

      @NaturalFootgear  7 років тому

      Hi, Josh,
      Thank you for your comment and questions. We're sorry to hear about your ruptured Achilles tendon. Hopefully the healing process is going well. Question: Did you have surgery to address the rupture? If so, you may want to check out this article we put together on post-surgical recovery techniques:
      naturalfootgear.com/blogs/education/17914760-six-ways-to-restore-foot-health-after-surgery
      Correct Toes is designed to address a number of foot and toe issues, though whether or not it will help you with your recovery is impossible to say without seeing you in person. You may benefit from the general natural foot health approach we discuss on our site, but each person is unique in terms of their foot health needs. You may consider finding a healthcare provider in your area who can offer you more personalized care. The practitioners on this page all have at least some familiarity with natural foot health concepts and approaches:

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  6 років тому +1

      Hi, Catherine. Thank you for your comment. We don't have any personal experience with the bunion corrector that you mention. However, in our experience, we've found that Correct Toes toe spacers are the most comfortable and effective tool for addressing bunions naturally. This device can be worn inside appropriately wide toe box footwear in a weight-bearing situation (e.g., standing, walking, running) to help speed along the correction.
      In terms of where to find shoes that are widest at the ends of the toes, you might consider checking out our selection of Correct Toes-compatible footwear for women:

    Are these ok to use even with hallux limitus (bone spur, arthritis and sesamoid degeneration)? Can they be used with orthotics in a firm soled shoe that my podiatrist recommend to prevent big toe flexion? Thanks!

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому +1

      Hi, Olive Ginger. Thank you for your comment! We have found that Correct Toes works quite well for hallux limitus. In many cases, Correct Toes replaces the need for a conventional arch orthotic by enabling natural arch support, especially if used in combination with a completely flat-soled shoe, though we can't comment on your specific case. If you have any other questions, please do contact us at info@naturalfootgear.com!

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  5 років тому

      Hi, Wandering Star. We appreciate your comment and your concern about pricing. We encourage you to read this article from our blog, which explains why Correct Toes costs more than other toe spacers on the market: bit.ly/2WIAWzN. Correct Toes is not compatible with conventional footwear that incorporates any degree of toe box taper. Trying to use the spacers in combination with such footwear will be uncomfortable and unproductive. Fortunately, Correct Toes compatible footwear exists. All the men's and women's footwear options we feature on our site are Correct Toes compatible: bit.ly/2GQyj89.

      Hi, Emna Ben! Correct Toes is designed to help bunions by gently guiding the big toe from its dislocated position back into alignment with its corresponding metatarsal bone. If you’re just starting to experience the signs and symptoms of a bunion, it’s a great time to start a daily regimen to prevent the bunion from developing/progressing. We recommend checking out the link below, which discusses helpful natural approaches to bunions:

    I hope you are still reading questions posed to you about your products. My question is; my 2nd toes are crooked and point at almost a 45 degree angle toward the middle toes. Do you have a product that can cure this problem or is this just something to be corrected by surgery?

      Hi, Larry. Thank you for your comment. The severity and longevity of the condition is important in determining how effective Correct Toes (naturalfootgear.com/collections/correct-toes) can be, so we can never guarantee results. However, most people with crooked toes find that Correct Toes is an effective, non-invasive option for addressing this problem. If you want to learn more about Correct Toes toe spacers, please consider visiting this page, where you can sign up for a free Correct Toes e-course (as well as other e-courses on a variety of topics): naturalfootgear.com/pages/newsletter-courses.

    I hadn't heard of toe spacers before until I came across Awesome Toes from YogaBody naturals. I ordered a pair of those but was doing a little research and found these. I notice the different shape and am wondering if one is better than another? Have you tried the Awesome Toes before? I like that I can wear them just barefoot, walking around my apartment and it doesn't look like the Correct Toes would stay on without something to hold them in place like socks or shoes? Perhaps I'm wrong though. Could you advise?

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  6 років тому

      Thank you for comment, Nickelle! Correct Toes toe spacers generally stay in place when the fit is right. Correct Toes toe spacers do fit inside an appropriately wide toe box shoe, which also helps keep the spacers rooted in place. Some folks use a thin velcro strap looped through the cavities of the device (cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0735/7693/files/DSC0634.JPG?9572842378345176190) to further assist with this.
      In our experience, we've found Correct Toes to be the most helpful and effective toe spacer on the market. It possesses a sleek ergonomic design that anatomically (instead of arbitrarily) spaces the toes. And, as previously mentioned, you can use it inside wide toe box footwear during weight-bearing activity (e.g., running, walking, hiking, and standing) to achieve the greatest possible corrective effect.

      @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому +3

      Thanks for your question, Gookkid. Correct Toes can indeed be part of a well-rounded, natural treatment approach for Achilles tendinitis. More about Achilles tendinitis here: www.naturalfootgear.com/common-problems/achilles-tendinitis/.
      Also, Correct Toes helps enable natural arch support (www.naturalfootgear.com/common-problems/achilles-tendinitis/) by aligning the toes to their intended anatomical position. With the toes in this configuration (and with both ends of the main foot arch on a stable and level surface) foot arch structures (including muscles) do become stronger over time.
      Best wishes to you on your journey toward optimal foot health!

      Great question, eric via! Some folks do indeed wear their Correct Toes as a “night splint,” as you suggested. However, there are other benefits associated with wearing Correct Toes, including enhanced circulation in the foot and toes. Here's more info about wearing your Correct Toes at night:

      NaturalFootgear I guess a good sole to deal with the stress of a lot of forward and lateral movements (Quick stopping and pivoting). Also ankle support for the same reason (Quick stopping and pivoting). I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a pair of Altra running shoes. Running shoes for me, in general, are not good on my feet on the racquetball court. Really, a simple court shoe that feels comfortable has always worked for me. But if I'm to convert over for jogging, etc...was curious about available products for court play (racquetball). Thanks.

I'm a runner and training for a Marathon in the Fall however my big toe joints are in so much pain and so stiff that it makes it very difficult to complete my long runs let alone go as fast as I should. My endurance is great and my muscles are strong it is just my lack of mobility in my toes and the constant pain that is holding me back. Would these be good for me? Hi, Mark,
      Thank you for your message. We can't comment on your case specifically (without the benefit of a full health history interview and physical examination), but we can offer general information that others (with similar concerns) have benefitted from in the past. Correct Toes is most effective on toes that have retained at least some degree of mobility. If you can manually reposition your big toe to its proper alignment, you may indeed benefit from using the device. You may also benefit from the general natural foot health approach, involving the adoption of foot-healthy footwear (that respects natural foot anatomy) and helpful stretches/exercises (in addition to regular Correct Toes use). • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  7 років тому +3

      Hi, Holly,
      Thank you for your comment and question! Toe spacers are a relatively new approach to bunion correction and prevention, and so for that reason, there aren't currently a lot of independent research studies that evaluate their effect on bunions. The studies that do exist and that we're aware of focus on the effect of toe spacers on balance and lower leg muscle activation. It's likely that, over time, all aspects of toe spacers and their effects on feet will be assessed in a research setting, but for now, we have the clinical results from thousands of patients to go on.
      You might appreciate this video, which chronicles some of the changes in one athlete's feet after one year of using the device (there are some visuals toward the end of the video that are particularly compelling):

      On this page, you'll find links to studies that discuss natural foot shape and the long-term effects of conventional footwear on hallux valgus and bunion formation.

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  6 років тому

      Hi, Kelly. We sure do appreciate your question. In our experience, we've found that neuromas are caused by wearing shoes that taper in the toe box and elevate the toes above the forefoot. These two things pinch and stretch the interdigital nerves, respectively, which ultimately results in a neuroma. Wearing Correct Toes, along with foot-healthy footwear (i.e., shoes that are flat, wide, and flexible), helps combat the forces that are responsible for neuromas in the first place. • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  6 років тому +1

      Hi there, Sunya! In our experience, most women wearing that size shoe tend to do best with the Small Correct Toes. Individual feet and toes vary in shape, however, so we’d recommend checking out the “sizing” tab on the Correct Toes product page: naturalfootgear.com/collections/correct-toes/products/correct-toes. You can also print this handy sizing document, which is a great tool if you’re at all uncertain: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0735/7693/files/Correct_Toes_Sizing_Guide.pdf?587466518543702542.

    How long do you wear it at a time?

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  5 років тому

      Great question, Matthew. In general, we recommend starting in slowly with the device, using it for perhaps 30 minutes each of the first few days and then gradually building wear-time in 30-minute increments per day from there. Most people find that they can eventually wear the spacers all or most of the day. Please let us know if you have any additional questions about Correct Toes!

      Great question, anon6116! In our experience, Correct Toes-especially when used in combination with flat-soled and flexible footwear as well as metatarsal pads-can indeed be helpful for a Morton's neuroma. For a more in-depth explanation as to why, please check out this video: bit.ly/2LEKd7c.

    I have yet to find a shoe with a wide enough toe box to fit them. I have the Lem's primal 2s and their chukka boot and there's not enough room in either one.

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  3 роки тому

      We're sorry to hear that, Andrew! We recommend that individuals who have relatively wide feet remove the included (optional) insoles that come with the shoes to help open up maximum space for the feet. This can make a big difference in some cases. In our experience, though, we've found that most people can comfortably wear Correct Toes inside both the Lems Primal 2 shoe and the Lems Chukka boot. You might consider trying Ahinsa shoes, which have one of the widest toe boxes available: naturalfootgear.com/collections/mens-ahinsa-shoes. All the best to you!

    These look cool and I considered getting some for my grandfather's hammer toe before he died.
    What kind of shoes would you recommend for someone born with a too-short achielies tendon? I have to have a small heel to correct it and mostly get away with boots and wedged sneakers. We talked to a doctor when I was a child and were informed that since it's genetic it would likely just shrink back after surgery.

      Hi, Brandie. We're sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing.
      You pose an excellent question. Our best recommendation is to schedule a remote consultation with the team at Northwest Foot & Ankle in Portland, OR, to have your question answered: www.nwfootankle.com/remote-consultations. This is the clinic of Correct Toes inventor Dr. Ray McClanahan, and they will be able to offer you more detailed thoughts and advice.

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому

      Thank you for your question, Kevin To. In our experience, we have found that Correct Toes does indeed help resolve bunions and hammertoes over time and prevent further foot and toe problems. The problems you mentioned occur slowly, over time, and so foot rehabilitation (the natural way) also requires some diligence and patience. The results are often well worth the journey!

    does it help rehab turf toe?

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому +1

      Hi, alex101xl. Thank you for your question. In our experience, we have indeed seen Correct Toes be helpful in rehabilitating turf toe. It helps by keeping the toes (especially the big toe) more plantarflexed and by aligning the sesamoid bones in their natural position. Turf toe may also be helped with the Toe Extensor Stretch and the use of a metatarsal pad. Avoiding footwear with injurious design features (heel elevation, toe spring, etc.) is important, too, as these features keep the recently traumatized plantar tissues under constant tension, which disrupts the healing process. @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому

      alex101xl Hi, alex101xl. In our experience, we've seen plantar plate injuries and tears improve following Correct Toes use (due to the plantarflexing nature of the device at the level of the metatarsal heads). Another helpful product for many people with this foot problem is a metatarsal pad. The Toe Extensor Stretch can, for many folks, also be helpful.Metatarsal Pads: www.naturalfootgear.com/products-page/useful-foot-pads/pedag-metatarsal-pads/

      Hi, Ada,
      Thank you for your message. The device should not cause any pain or discomfort. Most folks find that a gradual introduction of the device is best. • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  7 років тому +2

      Hi, Ella. Thank you for your comment! We take the approach that the less a shoe does to the foot, the better for the foot. While we think that some barefoot time (e.g., on the beach, etc.) can indeed be healthy for most feet, we realize that this isn't achievable or desirable for everyone. So for that reason, we recommend folks use footwear that allows the foot to act like a barefoot inside the shoe. Here are some examples of foot-healthy footwear:

      @@NaturalFootgearFootgear what about older folks who are more prone to break their toes. Isn't hard soles better for protection?
      I recently broke a toe on each foot and sent home with instructions to tape them. Afraid to walk on them, I tried not to for 3 weeks. Extremely challenging with any device to assist. Grateful I have great balance. Alternated between my Teva sandals and Kaliso Earth sandals with a hard sole. Now the challenge is getting used to walking on my toes and boy have I been feeling the fear in them.
      In any case, I have a pinky toe turned sideways and turned under the 4th toe, partly due to the 4th metatarsal break 7 years earlier. This 4th metatarsal twisted off the bone, which caused the toe to stick up at the joint at the end of the foot. The pinky on the other foot is also doing that but not nearly as much. Is this product capable of correcting these 2 issues? And, as a senior, shall I be in flexible or non-flexible shoes if prone to breakage?

    • @NaturalFootgear
      @NaturalFootgear  10 років тому +2

      Thank you for your comment, Simmy C! Correct Toes are made of comfortable and durable medical-grade silicone, and they space your toes in an anatomically-appropriate way, not arbitrarily. They can also be worn inside footwear that possesses a foot-shaped (i.e., non tapering) toe box. I think you'd find them much easier to use, much more comfortable, and much more effective than paper towels.
      You can achieve the best results with Correct Toes by wearing them in a weight-bearing situation. In most cases, conventional footwear is the underlying problem that leads people to use a toe-spacing device, such as Correct Toes, so wearing conventional shoes most of the time (and Correct Toes some of the time) will not yield the best possible results (though it still can be helpful in some cases).
      I hope this info helps!
