As a retired truck driver, I can attest to the beauty of this city. The problem is that it's a very dangerous city. It has one of the highest crime rates in the US. Anyone visiting there needs to grow eyes in the back of their heads. What a shame that there isn't the political will or civic intelligence to make it safe.
@ksvagabond I've been to every major city in the 48 contiguous United States as well as Canada while working as a driver. I've also been to many international cities while in the USMC. Does that answer your question on my travels. I know Portland is violent because of going there personally for more than 25 years. Maybe you should study the official crime statistics yourself before getting so defensive. I don't think "my take" on the situation has anything to do with. Facts are facts whether you or anyone else can accept them or not.
The situation has improved massively over the last year. Still a long way to go until it gets back to pre-2018 glory, but it's slowly but surely coming back!
@@LordHeadcheez good to know...at least a some hope.... i jist saw some news on youtube about the homeless camps in front of peoples houses 😥 such a desperation.... ppl cannot even live peacefully in their own neighboorhood... idk if it's ALL OVER Portland but it is so sad to see such a beautifl place that way... hope it get better 🙏😳
So beautyfull green city with public transport. Thank you
Average public transportation, but the right amount for the size.
Beautiful city
Absolutely!
Nice view of my town. : ) ¡Gracias!
Denada. My home town :)
Beautiful, enchanting city
👍👍👍
So many memories...!
I lived here from 1995 to 2021; I loved it all!
Very nice. It’s still cool. Different but cool.
Everyone online and those on the right say the city is chaos. This looks pleasant and beautiful. Not chaotic at all.
I agree. The imagine of Portland in media is all wrong. It’s a very quiet and friendly place.
The dream of the 1890s is alive in portland. Ps the new incredibly loud tri met PA IS TO COVER THE SCREAMS🤣. JK
Do you mean 1990’s? I thought that was the joke. Portland is stuck in the 90’s and is where young people go to retire.
The joke is they are literally crapping on streets and living in tents ..ergo 1890
Young people come here to do drugs snd steal dude
@@Azazel2024 Gotcha. Well we've come a long way since then... ummm....

I don't . I have lived here 40 years and you're naive af
What time and day of week was this?
This was afternoon on a weekday. That might be why there are not so many people about.
There is never anyone downtown. Be honest
🚵I love portland. Used to be one of the safest city. Love everything about it. The great northwest.❤✈🛤🛣🚟🚢🚂🚔🌲

Haha. They want to care… but it seems they’ve given up.
All of these accolades for a place
seemingly devoid of people.
Next stop, The Twilight Zone.

Interesting take. Is Portland the biggest city you've been to? I imagine all C market cities and above have the same issues and worse.

That comment is patently false. I’d recommend that YOU review crime rates in cities across the US before making such absurd assertions.
quite like DTLA in summer
It’s got a similar feel for sure. I’ll take LA over PDX though.
Cold and uninviting.
Winter Portland for sure. But it’s pretty cool still. The Pearl District is very fun.
Its super exciting if you love drugs echo chamber and denial
BE careful for the needles! Will never see my family there! The DEMOCRATS can have it!
Yeah. Sounds like Portland isn’t the place for you.

@@shumingtan6885 This is very true. New York and Chicago has a great system. But very few other cities.
Where are all the homeless bums??
There are much less now than what you think. A year ago was zombieland.
