Not so many people heard it but the Pendleton hunter is an award wining design. In the September 2010 edition of Field & Stream, reviewer David Petzel declared the Cold Steel Pendleton Lite Hunter the “Best of the Best” winner for hunting knives. Petzel liked its 4116 Krupp steel blade, sharp factory edge, ease of resharpening and the reasonable price.

Good review. Looking for an EDC fixed blade. I would love the Pendelton Mini with a 1/2" longer handle and shorter 2.2" blade, as its full tang, but this may suffice for now. Excellent kitchen knife too.

You are absolutely right! This 4116 is really close to 1095 in performance with the additional total corrosion resistance. The secret is a special heat treatment technology used for this steel. It is called "cyro-quenched". Cryogenic hardening is a cryogenic treatment process where the material is cooled to approximately −185 °C (−301 °F), usually using liquid nitrogen.
This heat treatment gives extra strength to the blade.
Thank you very much for your honest review!
