HEY Y’ALL! Merina is my name and Mobile Home Livin’ is my thang! Around here I’m known for mobile home makeovers and large family mobile home livin’! I used to do mobile home livin’ in a trailer park in Tennessee. We’ve set out on a new journey and bought our dream home - a double wide mobile home on some acreage in the hills of Tennessee! Merina - your attitude about being proud to live in a mobile home is awesome - so many people look down on those who do and it makes me sick because they don't know what that person's situation is. My ex and I lived in a mobile for 6 years and gutted and rebuilt about 95% of it with some pretty high end finishes like marble floors under the fireplace, solid birch kitchen cabinetry - the only thing we didn't get to was to redo the siding and decks because we split up. I would often say to anyone that would listen, how great it was because it meant there was more money to do up the inside beautifully (I put in a $10,000 bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub) as well as having a 38-ft camping trailer that I wouldn't have been able to afford it I'd been in a big house - the best part was no mortgage. I can't stand people who look down on others for where they live.

I hear you and before I met and married husband #2 25 yrs ago, me and my littles were homeless and would have given anything to be in a safe place, but we're here today in God's grace, kiddos gave me g-kiddos and a great grand kiddo, Stay bless everyone

I never understood people who bad mouth “ trailers “. A home is a home regardless. As you said. It’s a place to live and most of these trailers are a great place to live in. It’s yours and you make it your home which it’s what this is about. I can’t afford one but if one day I can, I’ll live in one in a heartbeat.
I live in a manufactured home that was built in 1951. It is small and needs updated, but i bought it on my own, with the help of God. It is perfect for my husband and I and our 2 pets. I would not want to live house poor. God blessed me with a roof over my head, and i am thankful. A house is just a building, your family makes it a home. Anyways, hope you are feeling better. Please remember you are made in His image and likeness. I certainly wouldn't call God simple. You are beautifully and wonderfully made ❤
Your playfulness with one another is so much fun to watch! I married my high school sweetheart and you remind me of us. We married when I was 17 and we have now been married 37 years. The lesson….. you get what you put into your marriage.

We’re getting a double wide! Not gonna lie, I immediately thought of you and all the things you’ve done and although it is going to be a lot of work, I’m so excited to see what we can do with it. I definitely enjoy watching you. I’m 71 so I don’t know what they call things nowadays, but that used to be called a formal living room and a family room. It’s what they used to call those two rooms.

I’ve lived in old run down mobile homes and a beautiful brand new double wide. I’ve lived in old run down stick built houses and nice solid middle class stick built homes and have been thankful and grateful for each and everyone. I’ve never lived in a mansion and Iam sure I never will. And I am ok with that.
The two of you work so hard and aren't afraid to try something new. I hope you feel 100 percent soon.

Merina the room you come in the front door is usually the living room and when you have a room on the back with patio or french doors is usually a den or family room or even a dining room.Great video !

This room is your livingroom. The den is usually the back room and it is where you hang out. The livingroom is usually in the front of the house and a bit more formal (less lived in).
When i was growing up, we called the room with the TV, the "the TV room". And the room with the front the Living Room.... 😁😍

Your den is the one with fireplace. The living room is where you are now.

Hey girlfriend! If you think mitered corners are tricky, watch videos on crown molding….you have to think upside down and backwards all the time…it’s crazy! lol 😝 Oh, I was gonna tell you all that you’re supposed to prime newly applied joint compound so it doesn’t suck up all the paint so fast. I didn’t know that until we had some work done on our ceiling and the guy told us to always prime fresh drywall compound. Who knew?! 🤷🏻♀️ Hope you have a blessed week!!!!

I haven't watched in a while had to fight esophagus cancer stage 3 last year ,keep me in prayer. I had problems with the immunotherapy side effects that gave me respiratory failure.Been on oxygen for 4 months.They said it's getting better.So I pray I will be off soon.You have done a whole lot in a year girl.Proud of you.Its beautiful ❤️
I learned that a living room is what you walk into ( entrance) and family room is connected to the kitchen area.. also learned a trailer you go camping in but you live in a mobile home. A double wide mobile home is your home!! ❤ love to watch your fun videos. Den has a fireplace and usually larger. Living room is smaller, guest-inviting.
The only way to fix this problem is with two new peices of baseboard! , each cut on a 45 degree angle. Best wishes, we are cheering for you both and we know y'all can do it!! ❤❤😊

Maybe I got mine backwards. We enter and the room with the fireplace we consider living room. We then walk further into the house and it's a kitchen with open concept. Then that room we call family room cause it's the room we gather in the most. Has a TV. The living room we don't have a TV in. It's a quiet area to read and it's next to the office.

My parent's mobile home which I grew up in is the same layout as yours and the room with the fireplace we call the den and the front room the living room. My parents also took down the hanging kitchen cabinets and cabinets below them and put in a island. They also put on a tin roof and log cabin siding that looks so good. Love seeing your videos and what you are doing to your mobile home and share it with my parents.

Hey - just love that you allow us glimpses of your life with your beautiful family! I live in Tennessee but am from Michigan. " Up North" as they say down here. Up there when we have 2 "Living Rooms" usually one is called the "Family Room" (used for daily family activities such as movies, games, etc) and the other is called the "Great Room" (used for special occasions & entertaining guests).

It's your home- call the rooms whatever you like. Next time you're at Lowe's or Home Depot, pick you up a package of the little plastic gizmos that are designed to smooth caulk. They're generally a hard plastic in a triangle shape. The sides of the triangle are shaped or beveled so that you swipe it along the freshly cajlked seam and it creates that smooth stripe of caulk. It's easier and looks neater than using your fingers or a rag. I'm jealous of anyone who gets to live in east Tennessee period. I'm not going to turn my nose up at a mobile home there or really anywhere. Rest up, chug water and stay well.
The ground around the cross is level. Stick built home, mobile home, manufactured home, doesn't matter, what matters is who you are and relationship with God and who God knows you are. Fruits of our labor is what matters. ❤❤

My daughter and grandson lost their beautiful home last year and she watches you all the time and gets so much from your videos! Shes in our mobile home ( double wide). Everything was pretty much ruined ( long story). But between us all we're making it happen. Even though its double wide its still very small but shes making it happen! Looking good! A den is in the back of a house and a living room is in the front of a house. The living room was the parlor way back when and that’s where you welcomed people into your home and the den was called a keeping room and it was next to the kitchen and that’s where the heat source for the home was kept. Your home is looking beautiful, I love watching you and Shane take pride in your home and the daggone thing done❣️
Up here in Minnesota we call the Den a Family Room.
We had a doublewide with the same floorplan as yours.

The room by the front door is your formal living room, that's where you entertain the people and they other room is the family room that's the room your kids get to run amuck. Lived in a manufactured home for 30 yrs, we have done the same thing to our walls. It's a lot of work, but the results are worth it. Great job.
